Chapter 144
Before Lloyd could speak, Selina abruptly turned inward. The Lamborghini’s wheels became ensnared in the drainage. channel, scraping against the railing encircling the mountain wall and emitting sparks. Sheltered by the imposing frame of Lloyd’s GTR, the Lamborghini surged ahead unexpectedly, overtaking Lloyd’s GTR and speeding forward.
Lloyd almost stopped breathing, feeling incredible.
If he hadn’t witnessed what Selina had done, Lloyd couldn’t believe that anyone in the world could drive a Lamborghini so fast while it was sheltered by the GTR’s huge body. Selina was risking her life! It was beyond Lloyd’s imagination.
Lloyd took a deep breath as Selina’s Lamborghini zoomed past the five consecutive hairpin turns and raced straight for the finish line.
Both the Lamborghini and GTR were top–tier race cars. Despite Lloyd’s GTR being perfectly modified and slightly lagging behind Selina’s original Lamborghini in performance, it was able to overtake the Lamborghini within a matter of seconds from a distance of several thousand feet.
Selina won, which was beyond everyone’s expectations. No one expected that Selina could defeat the most powerful champion in the world racing circle today.
After performing an inertial brake, the Lamborghini left a long, impressive black skid mark on the ground while emitting an ear–piercing engine roar. It was a triumphant fanfare of victory.
Selina stepped out of the car, and then willingly approached Nora’s side to open the door for her. Afterward, she assisted Nora, who appeared visibly frightened with a pale complexion, in exiting the vehicle. Selina compassionately suggested, “Nora, do you feel like you need to vomit? There’s no need to suppress it. Just let it out if you need to, it might make you feel better.”
“Selina, I’m sorry… I…” Nora couldn’t control herself anymore. She ran to the bushes and vomited, not caring about her ladylike manners. It was Nora who asked to sit in Selina’s passenger seat, but now she felt so embarrassed.
The following cars quickly approached the finish line one after the other. Caleb soon arrived near Lloyd’s GTR. Lloyd exited his car and immediately walked over to Selina, asking, “Selina, are you out of your mind? Were you aware that you almost died just now?”
Selina looked at Lloyd and couldn’t hide her contempt, saying, “How dare you scold the champion? I am truly impressed! It’s the first time I have seen such a shameless person!”
Lloyd said, “I…”
Selina remarked, “Furthermore, had you not intentionally blocked my car, I could have overtaken you. Yet, instead of acknowledging this, you accused me. Were you not also aiming to harm me? You were trying to win the championship. Initially, I didn’t want to point fingers, but now it seems you are seeking condemnation.”
It was common for some drivers to intentionally block the track, preventing others from passing. Each track could accommodate three to four cars abreast, leaving room for overtaking on narrow mountain roads like Ravencrest Mountain, where only two cars could pass at most. Selina was appalled by Lloyd’s despicable tactics.
Lloyd fell silent. Thinking about it carefully, he was still a little scared. If there had been such an accident at that time, neither of them would have survived.
Caleb exclaimed, “Selina, you were racing recklessly. Even if you’re determined to beat Lloyd, you can’t endanger your life. If there’s an accident, you could harm others too!” Caleb’s fear was palpable as he watched the live broadcast of the drone capturing Selina’s dangerous behavior. He observed Selina narrowly avoiding collisions with other vehicles multiple times due to her excessive speed on the curves. He questioned whether Selina was unafraid of death or simply oblivious to the
risks.
“I am not like you two losers. I was confident that I would be safe before I did so. Don’t worry. I cherish my life more than

you do After saying so, Selina turned around and left, leaving floyd and others petrified.
Selina said the was confident she would win before she dashed forward. Such a move was life–threatening. Even the world champion would stop when he was in the situation, let alone ordinary people. However, Selina did it. She didn’t risk her life. She was confident that she could do it. How could it be?
Suddenly, a figure flashed across Lloyd’s mind. Why did he feel a little familiar with Selina? Thinking of Selina’s racing skills, Lloyd had the same feeling as when he saw the Flying Shadow for the first time. Although Lloyd remembered the back of Flying Shadow clearly after such a long time, Lloyd was not sure. He wondered, ‘Could Flying Shadow be Selina?
Lloyd couldn’t help but shake his head. If Flying Shadow was really Selina, Selina was only about eighteen years old at that time. How could she achieve such an accomplishment at such a young age? Lloyd thought he must be wrong.
Selina emerged as the surprising victor of the race, much to the delight of the organizing team once her identity was confirmed. A globally recognized jewelry designer, Angel captivated everyone with her stunning beauty and undeniable talent, effortlessly drawing all eyes towards her. Rumors swirled about her close relationship with Trevon, the CEO of Insight Group. Her debut victory over Lloyd, a renowned professional racing driver, instantly propelled her to the top of trending lists and brought significant attention to the race organizers.
The awards were soon announced. Selina emerged as the champion, with Lloyd and Caleb securing the second and third places, respectively.
The three people stood shoulder to shoulder, creating quite a peculiar scene. Selina occupied the highest vantage point, overseeing the spectacle below. As the audience captured the moment with their cameras and erupted into cheers, jubilantly shaking their champagne bottles, a few drops accidentally splattered onto Lloyd and Caleb. Puzzled, they contemplated whether Selina’s actions were deliberate. However, they chose to discreetly move a bit further from the stairs, maintaining polite smiles to avoid any hint of stinginess in the event of their defeat in the game.
When presenting the championship trophy, the organizer deliberately dragged others close to Selina to take photos with her. Selina agreed and was easygoing. However, Lloyd’s face darkened. After taking the photo, he left in a hurry.
“Lloyd…” Manuel felt sorry when he learned that Lloyd had lost the game. Manuel empathized with Lloyd’s emotions, recalling a similar experience when he had felt overconfident at the Sokovis Jewelry Design Contest, believing Derrick was his only competition, only to be soundly defeated by Selina. The sense of humiliation was truly unpleasant.
“Lloyd…” Caleb looked at Lloyd worriedly. After Caleb lost to Selina for the first time, he woke up in the hospital thinking about why he failed. Selina was like a magic spell, giving them the most unforgettable failure experience in their lives.
Lloyd suddenly said, “Go and check the video.”
“What?” Manuel and Caleb looked at Lloyd blankly. They didn’t know what Lloyd was talking about.
Lloyd went straight to the lounge prepared by the organizer. He picked up the remote control of the TV and pressed the replay button. Lloyd watched the video recorded by the drone from beginning to end.
Selina’s racing style had always been conventional. Despite consistently trailing behind and often placing near the bottom, she was never far behind the leaders. It was clear that the performance of her car was inferior. Selina was aware that her vehicle didn’t match up to Lloyd’s GTR, particularly in terms of linear horsepower, as it lagged far behind the GTR
Selina’s only option was to ensure she did not fall too far behind and seize the right opportunity to take the lead. Right from the start, Selina aimed to outperform Lloyd in the five consecutive hairpin turns.
