i thunderstorm.

The silence after Selina’s last note hung heavy until applause exploded I like at

Evan raced over, all smiles, “Ms. Harvey, you blew us away! Please, take our Lifetime VIP Platinum Card. It’s on the house whenever you wanna cat here no wait, no bill. And your performance? We’re showcasing it in our anniversary video. Huge thanks for making our night!” He never expected. much, just didn’t wanna tick off the Brady Family. But Selina killed it on stage, and the place made a killing because of her!

“Got it.” Selima said coolly, pocketing the VIP card.

Selina, you rockedTM“ Nora beamed at Selina, eyes sparkling. “That was boss–better than any pro I’ve seen live! I’m floored… Plus, I got it on videot Trevon’s gonna flip when he sees you!”

Before Selina could respond, Jennifer stumbled up, totally lost. “How I thought you had no strings attached. You’ve been playing us! You gotta be kidding me. no way you’re this good without starting as a kid. Why hide your chops Think you’re better than me?”

“Yeah, I do.” Selina’s straight–up amackdown floored jennifer.

Nora cracked up, proud of her sister–in–law’s savage style.

Selina just tossed her a look and flicked her fingers toward Jennifer.

Jennifer didn’t get what Selina was up to at first, but when she saw Selina’s smooth fingers, her face twisted like she’d sucked on a sour candy. “You… Your fingers, where are the calluses?!” Any violinist from way back should have calluses, no matter what. Even Jennifer wore her own like badges of honor, signs of all the hard work she’d put in.

You just don’t have the skills, honey, and I just don’t care that much, Selina fired back, not even bothering with Jennifer anymore, and started leaving with Nora.

Every word stung Jennifer, leaving her ego bruised and battered. She fumed, “Is all my lifelong practice junk compared to her just–for–fun playing? That’s crazy talk! But against Selina’s silky hands, Jennifer couldn’t say boo. She just fiddled with her own rough fingertips, like she was trying to scrub off what she used to think were like trophies. And you said you were here just to chill? But you ended up on stage, showing off just like me,” Jennifer hissed, all that anger squeezing out between her teeth, totally embarrassed.

“Chill out, Jennifer, Nora snapped, shocked that Jennifer was still throwing shade after Selina’s zingers. Couldn’t believe her nervel

“Jennifer,” Evan butted in, icy like a winter storm, “Ms. Harvey is our special guest for tonight. I asked her to play, unlike you begging us to spotlight you with no strings attacheil!”

“What? You’re talking to me like this? Jennifer was pissed off

“Yeah, why not? Conna flex your dad’s company muscle on us? Think the Grant Group would be cool knowing their star princess messed up a deal and dissed Nora Brady from the Brady family?”

That hit the brakes on Jennifer’s temper tantrum and, steaming, she stormed out, leaving behind a trail of embarrassment. The whole room lit up with laughter at her dramatic exit

The watchers thought that dinner was legit the best. Not only did they catch Selina’s killer violin performance, but they also got front–row seats to some grade–A drama and juicy gossip.

“Whoa, Selina, you’re the queen! You just stomped Jennifer flat. It was like something out of a movie! Nora was all over Selina, cheering like she’d just seen her favorite superhero in action. She couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Is this the same Selina that Trevon’s nuts about The more I see, the more

I dig her. She is the most awesome person ever!”

Selina messed up Nora’s hair, saying, “Easy there, or my head will get so big Ill start strutting.”

As if I’m your number one fan; I’ll hype you up all day! You’re like those kick–butt heroes on the big screen super slick and fierce. Nora hooked her arm in Selina’s suggling against her with a grin that could light up the whole street.

Right at that moment, Trevon rolled up. “Hey, honey, your ride’s here,” he called out, all smooth and cool.

Trevon!! What’s the deal showing up now… hello! This is prime bonding time between Selina and me!” Nora clung to Selina’s arm, giving Trevon a stink eye like he was some kind of love rival,

Trevon lifted an eyebrow, shooting Selina a look that said, What magic did you pull on Noral

Selina just gave a little shrug, like “What can I say, I got it like that

Trevon hopped out, picked up Nora–even though she made a big fuss–plopped her down, and then helped Selina into the car all gentleman–like. He shut the door, gave the drive signal, and off they went, it was all super smooth, like a dance move he had down.

Nora stood there, shocked, as the car turned into a speck. She finally sprinted into the street, hollering after them, “Hey Trevon! You’re seriously

leaving me here? Really!”

Selina, caught off guard, said white looking at Nora, You’re really just gonna ditch your sis?”

“She’ll be fine; she is a grown–up!” Trevon kinda slipped, sounding a teensy bit jelly, then added, “Someone’ll look out for her.”

With that, Selina chilled out. For real, Nora had gotten the Brady name, and besides, looking at how Trevon treated her, it was obvious they’ve got that cool sibling vibe, no soap opera stuff here.

Trevon was not the type to spill his guts or show his soft side, no way; he kept it under lock and key.
