Chapter 40
Jack’s heart skipped a beat when he saw Selina’s text. [I know what to do. He replied.
Selina: [Cartier is a good brand and I hope we can work together again.]
Jack: (Thanks a ton, Angel! It’d be awesome lo collaborate with you once more!
Selina: [Alright, same deal as before. For our next team–up, we’re slicing the profits down the middle–half goes to charities in Clusia, and you guys manage the rest. Don’t worry about my cut. I’m good without the royalty fees.]
Jack: [Clusia’s lucky to have someone as giving as you around. He was seriously impressed with how Selina always thought of others. Last time they worked together, she gave away all her profits. Cartier was so touched by her big heart, so they shouted it out to the world and decided to pitch in too, giving all the dough from their partnership to charity as well.
Selina didn’t reply. She lived by the code her mentor had taught her–stick to your guns, no matter what. She figured if she had the means, it was on her to help out her country and the world as much as she could. What she’d lost, she couldn’t get back, and the family love she craved just wasn’t in the cards for her. But she knew she was still one of the lucky ones. Not everyone got a second shot at life to fix their old slip–ups
When Selina pulled up to the Brady manor, Trevon was already chilling in the villa. He strolled over and with a smile said, “Back at last, babe, How’d your day go
“Had a blast hanging with Lydia. Hold up. Why does the villa smell like a bunch of packing boxed?” Selina asked, wrinkling her nose as she looked
around.
“Come with me,” said Trevon, taking Selina’s hand like it was the most natural thing in the world, and led her upstairs. Selina didn’t overthink it, Part of their arrangement, after all, was to look like a couple in love, especially in the public eye.
At the door of a room. Trevon stopped and said, “Go ahead. Open it Selina did, and her jaw dropped. The room was chock–full of the coolest threads—dresses, pants, shoes–all brand names, all the limited edition stuff. The dressing table was stacked with makeup, and the mirror was lit just right, making the whole place sparkle like something out of a magazine. It was every girl’s dream come true. Selina was totally wowed; any girl
would be!
“All this stuff’s tailored just for you–your size, your style. Now you’ve got a whole closet to play with. And if you need anything else, just hit up Devin. He’ll sort you out: 1 know we got hitched fast, and this is kinda late, but I hope you think it’s as awesome as I do. Step in and check it out!” Trevon explained.
“Okay,” Selina said as she browsed through the racks of clothes. Trevon just leaned against the doorframe, arms folded, watching Selina grab an outfit and hold it up to her tellection in the mirror.
“How about I wear this to meet your family tonight” Selina asked, holding up the outfit.
Trevon nodded. “Totally. Let’s see it on you now.
Selina was a knockout even in just regular clothes, and that got Trevon thinking how drop–dead gorgeous she would be all dolled up in a fancy dress.
Trevon’s eyes narrowed, and he caught his breath when Selina stepped out in that dress. The deep red hugged her just right, making her neck look all elegant and her curves pop. Her skin was well–tanned, her arms as smooth as could be. The black heels made her legs look a mile long, and her hair cascaded over one shoulder like a waterfall. She wasn’t even wearing any makeup, but her natural red lips and bright eyes gave her a glow like some kind of fairy
Trevon had seen countless stunning women who believed their looks could easily ensnare any guy. But if they ever caught a glimpse of Selina, they’d realize their so–called allure was just a heavy burden in comparison. Unlike those women, Selina didn’t even have to try. Her natural aura of mystery was enough to captivate anyone.
As Trevon couldn’t take his eyes off her, Selina asked, “How do I look?”
Striding over with a big grin, Trevon replied. “Absolutely beautiful. No doubt about it. My wife is the most stunning woman out there.”
Selina teased, “We’re alone, Trevon. You don’t have to talk like you’re on camera.”
Trevon chuckled in response, “What’s wrong with it! We’re all on stage every day, even without an audience. No practice rounds in life, right! I figure it’s best to stay sharp for whatever comes our way.”
Selina gave Trevon a warm smile and reached out her hand. “You got a point, Life’s one big live show, with no do–overs, so we’ve gotta be ready for anything.” She paused, a thoughtful expression crossing her face. “You’ve really taught me something there” Having pulled through all the hurdles of her past life, Selina knew she couldn’t waste this second chance she’d been given.
“Just missing one thing… Let me help you get all dolled up, babe, Trevon said. He gently took Selina by the hand and led her to the dresser. He picked up an elegant yet understated black sapphire necklace and clasped it around her neck. The gein rested against her dark red dress, its sparkle lending an extra hint of mystery to her allure. Watching her, Trevon felt an irresistible pull towards her, an urge to delve into the secrets she held

close to her heart.
Running his fingers through her hair, Trevon leaned in closer and whispered, “You smell incredible. What’s that scent?”
Selina gestured to a bonle of red perfume on the dresser and replied. “It’s this one. Fresh without being overwhelming
“How about some earrings? Trevon asked, holding a pair up to her.
Selina shook her head. Tm just meeting your family, no need to go all out. The necklace is just right. But… which lipstick color do you think would work for me?” She really valued Trevon’s opinion. He had an eye for style, proven by how that black sapphire necklace he picked out upped her elegance a notch.
Selina was surprised by how good Trevon was at styling her. She had pegged him as the type of wealthy guy who’d be above such things, but he was proving her wrong. He wasn’t just into it; he was acing it. It made her wonder what other secret talents he had. So, she playfully challenged him to pick out her lipstick, curious to test his know–how with makeup.
