We get home and this Nandy lady is sleeping in the car, I am so mad at not only her but Joshua and her friend too and I plan on giving him a piece of my mind tomorrow when they are all sober.

I get out of the car and help the lady out, she is struggling to walk it takes me close to ten minutes to get her in the house and into the spare bedroom. I could have put her in my bed but she is a strange woman and I am not willing to risk it. After making sure she is safely tucked into bed and holding on to her phone I go to my room. I take a quick bath trying to wash off the stench of alcohol but honestly it could just be in my head.

I walk over to Nandy’s phone which is ringing, the caller idea shows that Martha is calling. I am tempted to pick up but then again I don’t know who she is and what if this is Nandy’s habit? What if she leaves home and gets drunk to the point of not remembering anything? Because why is she even here in the first place.

I go to the living room and replace something to watch on Netflix, I should be in bed right now but a part of me is worried that Joshua might show up and do something to Nandy. Of course my brother is not that bad of a guy but at this point I have a feeling I can’t trust him around him. After what seems like browsing forever and not replaceing anything to watch, I get my phone and decide to stalk Nandy. Nothing immediately comes up but then check Joshua’s friends on Facebook to see if he is friends with Jackie and I replace that they have recently become friends because they are liking each other’s photos and commenting. It might seem like nothing to anyone but I replace it disrespectful because why would they do that when they both know that my brother is committed. I live his profile and go to hers, it links to her Instagram so I go there. Her life is busy, Facebook says what she does for a living but her Instagram shows something totally different. She is always traveling to different countries and flashing a lifestyle that is expensive.

‘She is busy.’ I say getting tired of going through the profile but then I notice something off.

I continue to scroll down and I zoom in a photo she took with someone. I recognize the lady in the picture, she dated Joshua for some time when he just married. That ship sailed as fast as it came and I never heard him talk about her again. I wonder why the two ladies are even in the photo together, instead of living all this alone I decide to go to the other lady’s page whose name I learn is Peggy. She has a life that she is flashing as well, going to different countries and posing at different hotels. I scroll through the photos and notice that this Peggy lady keeps taking photos with an elderly lady who I also noticed on Jackie’s account. She looks like an older version of both ladies and another person wouldn’t notice this similarity unless they paid attention. I try to search for anything on the lady but nothing comes up and it makes my head hurt so I decide to go and make myself some tea. When I go back to the living room I feel my body giving up on me so I just lay there on the couch and shut my eyes allowing the sleep to take me.

I have been asleep for what feels like only a second when I hear some sounds in the house.

‘Good morning sleeping beauty.’ Joshua says

‘What are you doing here?’ I ask him as I try to get up

‘I cato make sure that my girl was okay.’

‘Your what?’

He carries the tray of food in his hands and walks to the spare bedroom I am left confused.

After a few minutes he comes back.

‘Joshua what are you doing? You were with her bestfriend last night and now you want to come here and play knight in shinning armor?’

‘I am doing Jackie a favor, she told me to take care of her loose bestfriend.’

I lift an eyebrow

‘I don’t know Ems, Jackie didn’t tell me much you know but we both saw the condition she was in yesterday. This girl is probably a hooker or something and if the girl I just had amazing sex with wants me to take care of her I will do just that.’

She walks into the room looking cleaned up.

‘Done?’ Joshua asks

‘I need to go home.’

‘But breakfast is ready.’

‘I shouldn’t have been here in the first place, I need to go.’

‘Yeah you should.’ I say feeling irritated

‘And what’s your deal?’

‘You are a grown woman and should not be winding up drunk in a strange man’s house, now get yourself out of this place before I kick you out.’

‘Come on Ems, what’s this about?’ Joshua asks.

‘I shouldn’t replace you when I come back.’ I say walking out of the room to wash my face.

‘Come on, I am driving you to your place.’ I say when I walk back into the room

‘No you are not, I will get on a taxi.’ Nandy argues and it irritates me

‘Like hell you will.’ I say roughly getting car keys from the console table.

‘I will drive her.’ Joshua says

‘Have you forgotten what today is?’ I ask before shaking my head and walking out of the house making sure to bang the door behind me
