Chapter 298

It was exactly what Linda wanted–seeing Hannah alone. They were finally meeting again, but neither expected it to be through a pane of glass.

to still be alive, standing right in front of you, and even watching as you get what’s coming to you,” Linda said, staring at Hannah in her prison

“I bet you didn’t expect me to s

“The last time we were here, it was to visit your mom. I didn’t think it would be you sitting on the other side so soon. Don’t you regret any of it?”

Hannah met Linda’s gaze and said, “Linda, I’ve often thought the same way my parents did. Why was everything so easy for you, while we had to scrape by in the dirt? “You always say you’re not throwing us charity, but everything you did felt like pity. It’s like you were giving from some high place just so we could pick up the pieces of our dignity and try to live.

“You’ve always been so self–righteous, never thinking if we even wanted it or if it meant anything to us at all. I lost my parents, and in your eyes, that made me this pathetic charity case, so you let me into your company.

“Because you felt sorry for me, you gave me all these chances. You thought it took them, my life would be easy from then on. Do you know why I didn’t take those chances?” She suddenly stopped, but of course, linda knew.

your

“Because you, like your father, are too proud. You think any offer made to you is charity. I never did anything significant to help you but only gave you an opportunity to make yo life attle better, if you decided to see that as pity, there was nothing I could do to change your mind.”

Linda looked at Hannah, a brief flicker of regret passing through her eyes.

“Everything I did was to make life better for all of you. My father protected you too while he was alive, but none of you ever appreciated it. This is where your choices have led you. Noere is to blame.”

With that, Linda turned and left.

She told Samson to let the legal process play out as she didn’t want to be involved anymore, and Samson respected her decision.

Linda returned to see Lexi before heading back to the hospital as Chloe had to leave for her studio.

Just then, a middle–aged woman, dripping in jewels and dressed in opulence, walked in

“You must be Linda.” Nina eyed Linda, who was sitting on the couch and waiting for Luke to wake up. “Let’s talk outside. There’s no need to wake him.”

Linda recognized Nina Immediately as Luke’s mother.

Nina took a deep look at Luke lying on the hospital bed before following Linda outside to sit on a bench.

“I know my son cares for you,Nina began. “So much so that he came begging me for help on your behalf, even though he would never normally do such a thing

“But Ms. Felix, I don’t think you’re right for him. I’m a mother, and I respect my son’s decisions. While I support him in everything, I also want him to be safe

“hasn’t even been that long since he fell for you, yet he’s already tapped into so many of my connections.

*I’m not concerned about that, but I don’t want my son to keep doing things he’d never have done before–things that have left him gravely injured for your sake this time
