Chapter 79

While William was busy investigating who had used Wilson Group’s name to intercept the batch of raw

gems Chloe ordered, Linda swiftly resolved the situation.

True to his word, Luke arrived at the hotel the next morning to pick up Linda and Chloe and take them to his villa, where he stored his loose gemstones.

The villa appeared unremarkable from the outside, but inside, it was a treasure trove with a value beyond

estimation.

Unfamiliar with such things, Linda was nonetheless amazed by the sheer value of the collection.

As a savvy businesswoman, she couldn’t help but contemplate the immense worth of the uncut raw gems and the unset loose gemstones.

On the other hand, Chloe followed Luke inside and began selecting the stones she needed and placing

them into a box.

“I need to go back to Idaly the day after tomorrow. If you need more stones, contact my assistant, and he’ll take care of it,” Luke said to Chloe, though his eyes never left Linda,

Chloe replied gratefully, “Thank you, Mr. Hunter. I’ll transfer the money to your account shortly.”

“No rush. I’m not in desperate need of money,” Luke said nonchalantly. He had always been indifferent to

money, a trait that often led to even greater wealth.

Linda spoke up, “Thank you, Luke. Without your help, Chloe and Radiant Jewelry would have been in

serious trouble.”

“Don’t mention it. That’s what friends do.”

“But I genuinely appreciate it,” Linda insisted.

“I know you do, but I don’t need your gratitude.”

How ab

I buy you dinner later?” Linda remembered his suggestion from their previous phone call.

“I was waiting for you to ask.”

Chloe had always liked Linda and Luke together, and she quickly found an excuse to leave. “Linda, enjoy dinner with Mr. Hunter. I need to head back to Radiant Jewelry.”

With that, Chloe dashed out.

Linda and Luke exchanged knowing smiles, understanding her intentions.

Nevertheless, Linda had to admit that Luke was a remarkable person. Similarly, she held a special place in Luke’s heart.

Before leaving the villa, Luke retrieved a natural, uncut black diamond from his safe and handed it to

Linda.

“What’s this?

Inexperienced with gemstones, Linda was taken aback by the radiant diamond in her hand.

“This is an unheated black diamond I bought five years ago in Usna. I’ve been waiting for the right person to give it to, and today, I found her.”

“So, you mean to give this to me?”

“Yes. I can’t think of anyone more fitting for this diamond.”

Linda quickly tried to refuse. “I can’t accept this. It’s too valuable.”

“I believe that if it’s for the right person, it’s never too valuable.”

But you just did me a favor, and now, I’m accepting a gift from you. It feels like I’m taking advantage,” Linda said, genuinely hesitant.

If it were something less valuable, she might have considered it. However, the diamond came from his safe, which said a lot about its worth.
