Chapter 69: Missing Drexel POV

Freya was sitting at Kiev's place with a glass of wine in her hand. She looked at me and wiped her tears. "So what have you decided?" she asked, getting up from the couch. She looked distressed and angry, which was natural

"Where is Kiev?" I asked, surprised that he wasn't here to console his sister

"He has gone for some work," she replied and walked to the bar to pour wine for me. She gave me the flute of wine and repeated her question

"What have you finally decided?"

I placed the flute on the table and sat on the

sofa. She sat across me. I said, "T will give you the proper check of two hundred thousand dollars, if that's what you are asking for."

Her eyes widened with a shine. The grumpy expression from her face melted away. "Thank you so much!" she exclaimed

"What will do with that money?" I asked, lifting the wine glass

"I told you already. I am investing that in a new firm. In fact, as soon as you give me the check, I will leave and return in a week's time. After that we can marry!" she rasped

I didn't like what she just said and a growl rumbled from my chest

Panic bubbled in my chest. I stabbed my fingers in my hair and hurried to the kitchen, hoping to replace her there. It was past midnight and I wondered if she was hungry. She wasn't there

I shouted angrily. There was no response "Penelope, if this is a joke, then it is a very bad joke," I grunted, thinking of every possible punishment to give her. Still there was no response

I rushed to check every room, but she was nowhere. Now I was beyond panicky. Where the hell did, she go? I opened my mind link with Leo and Eric. "Find Penelope!" I shouted through my mind link to them

"She is missing!" I blasted him

For the whole night, I went berserk. I shifted into my wolf and searched for her. My guess that she would be with Kimberley was also wrong because even Kimberley wasn't in her room. Leo checked on her duties, and found that she was not present for her duty either

Something inside me dug like thorns. Did the girls escape? No! That couldn't be. I pushed myself harder to replace them. I walked around my pack to pick up her scent, but there was nothing

When I came back to the packhouse in the morning, I felt like I would collapse. My mate was missing. There was no clue about her. I was leaning against my bedroom's door, looking blankly towards the bed when my phone started ringing. I picked it up immediately

"Where is she?" I grunted

"We picked up her and Kimberley's scent in the

south border," Leo reported. "Tt seems they have both escaped."

My hand went to my chest as a sharp pain stabbed me. I slid down the door. "When?"

"Tt was last night but we also found-" there was a pause. "We found Alpha Steven's scent too..."
