Once Rejected, Thrice Accepted -
Chapter 112
"Cass, he had better be alive and ready to talk. You interrupted me taking care of my mate!" Duncan stated as we made our way to Big J's cell.
"I can't even see my mate for another week, so shut your piehole." Cass yelled back laughing. "He seems to have gone mute but he is at least breathing for now."
They kept going back and forth as they moved Big J to one of the back rooms where all their fancy equipment was.
The rest of the cells had been filled up with rogues although none of them were talking as we moved Big J.
I could see the fear in their auras. None of them had any anger or rage which made me feel uneasy about torturing them for answers they would give freely. That was if they even had the answers we were looking for. There had to be more to why they were scared and why they agreed to help those asshats attack us. None of them even looked like fighters for hire anyway.
"Hey guys. I am gonna ask Olivia to come with Oliver. I have something I want to try." I stopped my mates before they entered the room with Cass. "Ok?" Lucas looked a bit nervous.
"Remember how I said you should kill rogues on sight because you have no idea why they are rogues or what happened to them? Well, I want to talk to Oliver and the rogues we have in the cells. None of them have a bad aura currently and I want to double check that like I should have with Big J." I clasped my hand together and put on a big pleading smile. "I know some of them were only here because they were forced, or they did it for the money to feed their families. That isn't a death sentence, and you know it. Please let me do this."
"I think you should let her." Cass answered moving back to join us in the hallway. "I will go with her and keep an eye on everything."
Lucas rolled his eyes. "I thought you wanted to take care of Big J yourself for pulling the wool over our eyes. I was looking forward to seeing you break a few of his body parts."
Giggling at Lucas I shook my head at his crazy self. "Oh I did but this is more important." I kissed his cheek before adding on a favor. "Break a few fingers for me. I should be able to hear the screams from the other cells."
"You got it." He went into the room followed by the other guys after some kisses.
I linked Olivia telling her to bring Oliver to the dungeons and that it wasn't bad. I knew she wanted details and was probably freaking out about what I would need him for there. I know I would be if I were in her place but I didn't want to spoil the surprise plus I needed to see his actual reaction. He was still here on a trial basis.
Quickly remembering about the guards I had around the cabin they were at I rushed a link out to them to hide and follow. I knew she would be pissed but we didn't know anything about this guy other than he was here just a few hours ago on the enemy's team. He felt like a good guy but I had been wrong before.
While we waited Cass showed me all the different rogues in the cells. They had caught several more this time rather then killing them which made my heart happy. It seemed even the warriors were slowly understanding and agreeing with me about rogues. Maybe I was good enough to be a Luna and make good changes.
"Ok here we are." Olivia grumbled as she stomped her way over to me for a quick hug. "Good thing you gave me enough time to test out the equipment." She whispered with a giggle.
"Heard that, Mate. Don't think the Luna wants to know about our s*x life." Oliver said pulling Olivia back into his side keeping his eyes level with mine. "I need to make a good impression, after all, or she will kick me out. Funny how one person can decide another's fate."
Olivia elbowed him telling him to knock that s**t off. She went into a bit of a rant about being best friends and how I was a good Luna not a s**t head one. At least this time with her mate she defended me and didn't submit to him.
"Fine." He shook his head at my current favorite person before turning his head back to me. "I am sorry I am an ass and so judgmental. I will do better in the future."
I could tell he was lying but at least he was trying his hardest to make his mate happy. He was an a*s but he probably had good reason. I was totally still going to give him s**t about it.
"Thanks for the fake apology, Oliver. I do have a way you can make it up to me, though." I smirked rubbing my hands together. "I want to talk to the rogues in these cells. I have a feeling they know you or you know them so you can be my baseline if they are telling the truth. Plus since I have a nifty ability to see if you lying I can test you out. Gotta see if I can trust you with my bestie and my back."
Oliver just stared at me with Olivia laughing uncontrollably beside him. Cass was even snickering from his spot leaning on the wall beside me. The only thing that stopped us was the screams of pain coming from the room behind US.
"Is that?" Olivia asked with a loud gulp.
"Yup so let's let them do their thing. You gonna help the Luna or what?" Cass said speaking for the first time.
"Oliver?" I asked waiting as he did a slow tour of the cells.
He took his time moving cell to cell before stopping in front of one with a man whose aura was showing he was petrified. His body was shaking and he refused to look up to meet anyone's eyes. He was a bit on the skinny side and his body was full of bruises and scars that werent just from tonight.
"Yea I can help. Let's start with Johnny here." Oliver leaned closer to the cell bars. "We really do need to catch up, Johnny. Let's see if my soon to be Luna can tell if you still stick to the truth or learned some new tricks."
