"Now they may have cleaned it up a bit, but it is still a dungeon," Duncan said as he stopped me at the door. "It will smell. It will have prisoners crying, begging, screaming. Just ignore them and stay away from the doors."

I nodded. This wasn't my first time in a dungeon, and I doubt it would be my last. The first time I was about seven and I had to stay overnight for hitting one of the kids in my class. He was bad mouthing Dennis about having to retake the sixth grade. At that point Dennis had been nice to me and wouldn't help mom in her beatings. It was about a month after this that he started name calling and breaking my things until I cried.

Duncan opened the door with me keeping up with his steps right behind him. Leo was behind me. Lucas had to take a small detour to check out something one of the wolves found on patrol.

"Leo?" I put my arm behind my back reaching my hand out. "Will you hold my hand?" I could feel the mate pull and needed him closer. This divide since the hospital was killing me.

He sped up and grabbed my hand. "Thank you. I have been dying on the inside not being able to touch you." I felt his head meet my shoulder and instantly felt our bond grow stronger and my chest feel lighter.

"Same. After this is over, I need a puppy cuddle and some sleep." He snorted and chuckled. "Ill come up with a better name to get all three of you in my bed."

Duncan stopped at the last cell on the right. I hadn't looked yet. I was nervous it wasn't really a rogue but someone from my old pack being sent on a mission to kill me or replace a way to take me back. I knew too much.

"Awe, you brought the bitch to me. Such good puppies." The rouge laughed as pulled at his chains. He was chained to the wall with silver cuffs on his ankles and wrists.

Leo shook the cell door. "Shut the hell up. Your lucky we need answers or id be ripping you apart piece by piece."

I looked over into the cell and felt elated. It wasn't anyone I knew so it really was a rogue. Apparently a rogue for hire.

"So they sent you to kill me." I stepped closer to the cell door with the guys staying so close they probably felt the sweat dripping from my forehead. "How much did they pay you?"

"Gemma!" Duncan growled out. "That isn't important. They shouldn't have hired someone to kill you at all."

"Well, I wanna know what I am worth." Both guys roll their eyes at me.

"I like you. Too bad you have to die." The rogue smiled at me. "I was paid $75,000 to kill you and once it is done I will be getting another $50,000. So your painful, tragic death will be making me $125,000."

I laughed. I couldn't stop. I could barely hold myself up from laughing so hard. I was worth over a hundred grand dead when all they had to do was treat me like a human growing up and I never would have learned their damn secrets.

Lucas walked up looking between all of us. "What is wrong with her? Is she crying? What did you guy do to her?" Lucas walked up and put his hand on my back.

"They...nothing...stupid bitches....their fault..." I could barely get my words out.

"She lost it when I told her how rich she was going to make me when I tore her heart out and ate it." The rogue started pulling at his chains and trying to shift but the silver was just rubbing farther into his wounds further wearing his strength out faster. Lucas jumped at the door trying to rip it from the hinges, but Duncan pulled him back. Leo told him not to listen to the dead man all while I was trying to think of something sad or mean to stop my laughter. It finally happened when I thought of this rogue deciding to take me back to my old pack instead of killing me. That shit would somber anyone up.

"Sorry. Its just they are some of the stupidest people I have ever heard of." I looked at the rogue. "They were never going to pay you the other amount. They would have killed you so that none of this would leak back to the packs they are in alliance with. They have too much at stake. But at least here after you answer some questions, we will kill you quickly without any pain."

The rogue laughed. "Is this how you plead for your life?"

This asshat was crazy. He was the one in chains and was still acting like he was going to kill me.

"Let's get the questions out of the way. Did you bring something to help him answer us?" Leo looked at Lucas and he nodded. He must have stopped to get it after meeting with the guard.

Duncan opened the door and the guys walked inside. Two guards stayed with me outside the door. They didn't want me any closer and I was fine with that. I didn't want to see them spill blood even if the guys deserved it. I needed to work up to that kind of thing. "Was it her mother or the Luna who sent you?" Lucas opened the black plastic box he had to show four syringes filled with a silver-looking liquid. "I have some liquid silver to help you answer should you fight us or lie. I have only used this once before and believe me when I tell you the amount of pain was so horrendous that he passed out after one small push of one of these."

"He also shit himself. That smell stayed for days." Lucas covered his nose and wafted the air in front of him like he could still smell it.

"Ill answer any questions ya have." He was eyeballing that box pretty hard. "Id rather get a reward for being a good boy."

"Zip your trap unless its answering one of our questions." Leo was getting angry. He pulled on one of the chains pulling the rogue closer to him. "Who sent you?"

"The Luna and your mother." He was looking a bit scared and tried to pull away from Leo but was held firm.

"Did they say why?" Duncan looked at me with pity, but I shook my head. I needed to hear this.

"They said she betrayed the pack and hurt the beta's son. That she was some hussy who let anyone between her legs and rejected her mate while laughing." He shrugged. "I didn't really care. I just wanted the money. Guys gotta eat." "Cough. Douche. Cough." One of the guards said under his breath.

"Agreed." I kept my eyes on the guys.

"You have a question for him, love?" Lucas asked while prepping the syringe. It was for show unless he didn't answer the next question.

"Yea." I took a deep breath. "Did you see any other alphas around the place the days before they met you?"

His eyes widened and for the first time I saw terror in his face. "Why...how...you knew?"

I smirked. "Oh, yea. They are a pack of traitors to our kind and a few other alphas agree with them but any move they make like this has to be granted from the leader of their inner circle. I've only seen him but he is one scary motherfucker." "He ok'd this? He knew you were to die?"

"Even worse he knows who you are if they hired you. You were meant for death as soon as your name left his mouth."

He looked at Lucas. "Kill me. Kill me now." He began begging and screaming for his death.

"Gemma?" Leo looked worried.

"Let's talk after a hot shower and a hot meal. I am ready to head back."

Leo had Duncan and the guards walk me back to the cabin. As the Alphas if they ordered someone to death they normally did it. It was their weight to carry. It bought them even more respect and forgiveness from me. "You ok?"

"Ill be better after you guys hear a few of the secrets the Luna never wanted to share." I held onto him tighter. "If they sent one rogue they will send more. I am not safe. The pack isn't safe with me here."

"You are safe and so are they. No one will cross our borders without signing their death warrant." He kissed the top of my head. "My life for your life. We are one."
