Our Journey Back to Love

Weble

Chapter 1

“Mrs. Foley, Mr. Foley is back.”

“Really?” Stella Yates stopped working on her draft. Her eyes shone as she pulled aside the curtain in

front of her.

A Cullinan drove into the villa.

She looked over and saw the man sitting inside the car. He had chiseled features and narrow eyes, and there was a regal poise to his movements.

Stella’s heart began thumping.

When she thought about what they would do now that he was back, she started blushing. Every kiss she had had him was always long and passionate.

She began to feel nervous and shy.

At that moment, the bedroom door opened, and a well–dressed man walked in.

Stella smiled as she looked over at him. “Bri.”

“Come here.” Brian Foley pulled his tie off with his slender fingers.

Stella walked over shyly.

He immediately pulled her into his arms and kissed her fiercely.

Stella whimpered slightly before sinking into the kiss. He carried her to the bed and then had his way with

her.

Stella and Brian had been secretly married for two years. They didn’t get married because of love. Instead, Stella’s father, Simon Yates, had forced Brian to marry her.

At first, Brian hadn’t been very fond of her. However, Stella liked him, and she had put in a lot of effort to woo him. She had tried her best to be good to him, and finally, Brian had responded.

So, their marriage would only get better now, right?

Once she had a baby with Brian, they would be a happy little family together.

Suddenly, the bathroom door slammed open, and Brian walked out in just a towel.

He had an excellent figure, but there was a grim expression on his handsome face. He did not even bother to wipe away the water dripping off his hair as he asked cryptically, “Are you pregnant?”

He was holding a pregnancy test that he had gotten from the bathroom.

Stella sat up. She could not tell how he was feeling, and she was rather afraid. “I don’t know. I bought it

this morning.”

“Why did you buy it?”

“I’ve been feeling nauseous lately, and I’ve had a poor appetite over

the past few days. You were the one who said that I should test myself for pregnancy as soon as I showed any symptoms,” Stella said as she looked at him with wide and innocent eyes.

Although he hadn’t finished showering yet, Brian said with an icy expression, “Go and test yourself. I’ll wait for you. Go now.”

Stella did not dare to delay any longer. She also had to pee, so she took the test from him.

After a few minutes, she exited the bathroom.

Brian was sitting on the couch. He looked up when he heard the noise. His dark eyes seemed as deep as a whirlpool. “How was it?”

“There was only one line, Bri.” Stella was rather disappointed that she wasn’t pregnant.

The detached look in Brian’s eyes made it hard to tell if he was disappointed or relieved. He said impassively, ‘Go and get my clothes for me.”

Bri, are you going out at this late hour?”

“Yes.” His voice was as cold as always

Stella did not say anything else. She turned and walked over to the closet.

She was very disappointed about not being pregnant. She had truly wanted to be pregnant.

The Foleys wanted her to be pregnant, and so did Brian. After all, it had already been two years. She had taken many supplements, but she still hadn’t succeeded.

She felt apologetic toward Brian.

They had been married for two years, and her love for Brian was growing stronger. However, he was too busy, and he often wasn’t home for ten days or even up to a fortnight. Whenever they managed to meet,

he would have to leave very soon after that.

Stella felt rather bitter.

She took some dark–colored clothes from the walk–in wardrobe and walked back into the bedroom. She

heard him taking a call.

“Don’t be afraid. Don’t let Rita see you. I’ll be there right away.” Brian was speaking in a gentle tone. Stella had never heard him speak that way before.

She stopped in her tracks, and the sweet feeling in her heart disappeared at once.

“Bri,” she called out. Then, she asked tentatively, “Who called?”

Brian glanced at her. He was very tall, so he looked very intimidating. He said coldly, “No one.”

“Was it a woman?

“It’s none of your business.” He yanked the clothes roughly out of her hands and put them on.

Usually, he would let her put them on for him.

Did men start rejecting their wives once they fell in love with another woman?

Stella felt a stab of pain in her stomach again.

It seemed like she really did have stomach problems. She felt bloated and uncomfortable.

Brian

got dressed before turning around and leaving.

Warning bells went off in Stella’s head. Women’s instincts were usually accurate, so she ran after him and said, “Bri, I feel unwell. Could you stay here tonight?”

Brian turned back.

He was very handsome, but his lips were very thin. He seemed fickle as he said, “If you feel unwell, tell Yvonne to contact the family doctor. I won’t be coming back here for a while.”

Then, he went downstairs.

In the orange glow of the lights, his figure disappeared into the distance.

Stella suddenly felt rather dazed. She felt as if she had never truly had a place in his heart.

Suddenly, she felt bile rising in her throat. She ran to the bathroom and vomited everything she had eaten for dinner that night.

She was then assailed with an intense pain in her stomach. She turned as white as a sheet as she crawled back to lie in bed.

A second wave of pain hit her at once.

She ran back into the bathroom, but the only thing she could throw up was green bile.

She wasn’t pregnant. She had food poisoning!

She weakly took out her phone to call Yvonne Smith, the housekeeper. “Yvonne, my stomach hurts a lot.

Please hurry and bring me to the hospital.”

Yvonne hastily ran upstairs. When she saw Stella lying on the carpet, drenched in sweat, she immediately

contacted the driver and went with Stella to the hospital.

When they reached the hospital, Yvonne helped Stella enter the consultation

The doctor gave her an injection and some painkillers and told her to get an ultrasound done so that they

could see if it was an acute cholecystitis or gastritis.

Once the painkillers began to take effect, her stomach stopped hurting, and Stella began to feel better.

Yvonne brought her to the ultrasound room, only to see someone unexpected. It was Brian.

“Mrs. Foley, it’s Mr. Foley!” Yvonne looked delighted.

Stella looked over and saw a handsome man standing there in a well–tailored suit. It really was Brian.

She felt delighted and was about to call out to him when she saw another woman.

The woman had just come out of the ultrasound room. She had a hand on her waist, and she was holding a report. “Brian, the doctor says that the baby’s fine.”

Brian’s icy expression softened at once. “That’s good. You should be careful about what you eat. You’re. pregnant. There are a lot of things you shouldn’t be eating, especially crabs.”

“Okay. I won’t eat crabs anymore.” The woman’s smile was very gentle.

Stella was stunned. The delight in her eyes turned to disbelief, and she stared fixedly at the woman.

The woman was wearing a feminine, pastel–coloured dress. She was very beautiful, with black hair and clear eyes. She looked pure and enchanting
