Chapter 176

Then Mike brought the evidence to Carrie’s mother, Julia Leston.

After Julia finished reading the document, she wailed. That’s impossible! Carrie is a sweet girl. She

wouldn’t do something like this! Besides, Stella is her cousin–in–law Carrie has no reason to do this to her!

“Mr. Foley has said that if Ms. Carrie doesn’t do as asked, he will make her suffer for the rest of her life.”

Julia trembled with fear upon hearing his words. She rushed upstairs with the document and slapped Came. She yelled. “Why are you still sleeping when things have fallen apart?”

Came jerked awake from the pain of the slap and muttered, “What are you doing, Mom? I just had my dermal filler shots last night. What will you do if you damage my face?”

“What will I do? Look at what you’ve done before you judge me! Julia threw the document at Carrie’s face.

Came glanced at the document. All the photos and remittance slips, which she had bribed Alice with, were there

Her face turned pale with fear as she asked, “Mom! How could this happen? Who found these?

“Brian, of course! Who else?” Julia pointed at her. “Why did you provoke Stella? I’ve told you many times, that if you want to get revenge on her, wait until she divorces Brian. Then, no one will be protecting her. Despite that, you just had to cause trouble now!”

Came said angrily, “What else was I supposed to do? I couldn’t just watch her succeed! If she succeeded, I wouldnt be able to retaliate!

“Besides, Yoel also likes her. If she gets together with Yoel after divorcing Brian, it’ll be even harder for me to take her down!”

“Well, look at what you’ve done! Brian has caught you! Now, I have to pay 500 thousand dollars for your mess. Now, you have to publish a clarification in the newspaper for Stella! You’ve disgraced our family!”

Came flung her pillow in anger.

Julia thought of a way to smooth things over. Then, she told Carrie, “Get the hell out of bed. You’re the one who caused this problem, so you should be the one to solve it.

“Go to the newspaper and publish a statement addressing Stella under your name. Then, go to her home and apologize to her

Why should I apologize to her?” Carrie looked unhappy.

“Fine. Then don’t go. But don’t come crying to me when Brian targets you later,” Julia warned. Then, she got up to leave

Carrie panicked upon hearing her words. She quickly got out of bed and grabbed Julia’s hand. “Mom, dont leave me alone in this! I just apologize! But can you lend me the 500 thousand dollars first?”

“Brian is in control of the company right now! We can’t get money anymore. I can’t believe you’re still so foolish. I don’t know what I’m going to do about you. If your father replaces out about this, he might actually skin you alive!” Julia yelled, pointing at Carrie

When Stella woke up, her waist was sore. She had to stay in bed for a while before she found the strength

to get up.

Brian was so rough with her last night that he had almost broken her bones. When they had done it, he had her promise him that she would obey his every whim and not betray him ever.

Stella got out of bed and put on her nightgown. She felt comfortable living in her own home. She slowly walked downstairs.

Yvonne was already downstairs. She said, “Good morning. Mrs. Foley.”

Stella was stunned. She looked around the home. This was her home! She asked, “Yvonne, what are you doing here?”

Yvonne said with a smile, “Mrs. Foley, Mr. Foley asked me to stay here from now on. He also brought a few gardeners over to tidy up Tarovian Terrace’s garden.”

Her words surprised Stella, and she ran to the door to look outside. Sure enough, someone was pruning: the branches in the yard, and the dead leaves were gone.

Tarovian Terrace seemed to have lost its desolate air and had regained the vitality and liveliness it had before. Stella couldn’t stop her heart from racing

Yvonne said, “Mr. Foley even said you’ll arrange a place for me to live when you wake up. Since Tarovian Terrace is your home, where we live will be at your discretion.”

“Yvonne, do you really want to stay here?” Stella asked her.

There were three small modern buildings on Tarovian Terrace. In fact, the smallest one was where the servants used to live. If Yvonne was willing to stay here, Stella would let her stay in that small building
