Chapter 62

Yoel asked, “Stella, were you all right after going back yesterday? Did you get hurt?”

Tm fine, but Brian got hurt, Stella confessed.

1 see.” Yoel didn’t care that Brian got hurt. He paused before saying, “Have you given any thought to the

collaboration we talked about?”

“Oh, I think we could proceed with it.” Stella smiled. I’ve been sketching at home these days. When I’m done, I’ll give you a call and we can talk about the collaboration in detail.”

“Great” Yoel didn’t want to come off as pushy. Happy that she had given some thought to working

together with him, he hung up after exchanging pleasantries.

Stella gripped her phone as she smiled.

She was about to head downstairs when Brian’s voice sounded from behind her, “Stella.

Stella turned around to look at him.

Brian’s expression was tight as he glowered at her from the bed. “Are you seriously considering working. together with Yoel?”

She was a little taken aback by his question, but she nodded anyway. “Yes.”

“And you don’t think there’s anything wrong with it?” Brian pressed, looking grim,

“What could be wrong with collaborating with Nas Group? They’re a huge, multinational company while we’re just running a small studio. We have nothing to lose,” she pointed out.

“I still think something’s amiss,” Brian insisted.

Stella frowned as she considered Brian’s words.

“I thought the same thing at first,” she confessed softly. “But after getting to know Yoel the last few days, I don’t think there’s anything shady about him.”

Brian’s face darkened when he heard Stella praise Yoel

Stella paid no mind to this and simply walked out of the room.

Frustrated, Brian reached out and seized Stella by the wrist. The next second, she was pulled down onto

his chest

There was a soft thud as she hit his sturdy torso.

Startled, she made to get up. However, Brian pinned her against him and said, “Come here.”

“Whatever it is you have to say to me, you can say it without getting physical,” Stella snapped. She didn’t want to be pressed against him like this, it was too intimate for comfort.

“My leg hurts,” Bran suddenly said.

Stella stiffened. She dared not move a muscle and lay there quietly in his arms. Looking up at him with large doe eyes, she asked, “Did I hit your leg or something?”

“Yeah,” he said, pursing his lips.

“Does it hurt?”

“What do you think?”

“Do you want me to call Dr. Sanders?”

“He’ll come over soon,” Brian said. He did not want to let go of Stella.

Stella felt her face warm from the heat radiating off his torso. She slowly got up, but Brian gripped her

wrist once more and stopped her from moving.

She looked up and met his dark, fathomless gaze. “What is it? You’re hurt, and you’ll be in even more pain

if I lie on top of you.”

He stared at her. There’s something I need to tell you.

Stella patiently stayed put in his arms as she asked softly, “Go on.”

Do not get close to Yoel.”

“Why?” she asked.

Because he has ulterior motives, Brian explained.

But the opportunity he’s offering me could be my only shot at fame in this lifetime,” she argued.

Brian eyed her coldly. “And what if it’s some carefully crafted lie?”

Stella made no reply.

Brian continued darkly, “What if this deal turns out to be a sham and you end up losing a ton of money?

Will you be able to handle the crippling debt?

Stella remained quiet

Brian regarded her pensively for a moment. When he spoke again, his tone was considerably softer. “Must you be a designer? Can’t you just stay home?”

This earned him a dirty look from Stella. “Have you seen my work? Do you think I’m so incapable of making a name for myself that you’d rather I be a housewife?”

This time, it was Brian who was rendered speechless.

A second later, he asked in a voice barely above a whisper, “Could you wait another two years? I promise I’ll help you become an international designer by then.”

Upon hearing this, Stella froze.
