Chapter 94

Stella gasped. “How did that happen? I checked the dress before delivering it, and it looked fine.”

“Well, we received a defective dress. Please hurry over to Jessica’s place to sort it out, or she won’t have a dress to wear for tonight’s party.” With that, Carrie hung up.

Afterward, Carrie texted Stella a photo of the defective dress. Stella glanced at it and spotted a minor defect–a tear on the chiffon. That could be easily fixed

She grabbed her sewing kit, ready to leave. However, she suddenly realized she might be barred from Jessica’s party if she did not dress appropriately for the event. She quickly grabbed a pastel–colored dress she designed and applied some light makeup before rushing to No. 10 Tarovian Terrace,

She arrived at her destination, only to be denied entry by the security guards at the door because she

didn’t have an invitation card.

She bit her lips worriedly and called Carrie, but Carrie did not pick up. Her frustration deepened.

‘Stella?” She suddenly heard a deep voice from behind.

Turning around, she saw Yoel, who was dressed in a dark gray suit. His soulful eyes scanned her dress with a pleasantly surprised look. “Why are you here?”

Yoel’s suit was from Stella’s studio. Feeling oddly proud and satisfied, she replied, “Carrie asked me to come because Jessica received a defective dress from my studio. I’m here to try and fix it, but I can’t enter the place because I don’t have an invitation card.

Yoel grinned knowingly. “Well, I have one.”

“Huh?”

I

“You may attend the event as my plus–one.” He extended a hand to her. “May I have the honor of inviting

this lovely lady to the party with me?”

Yoel was humorous and warm even when he was the one lending a hand. She beamed at him. “Of course.”

She took his hand, and he made Sandra help her with the sewing kit. The trio made their way past the

main hall to the backyard, where the birthday party was in full swing.

Yoel and Stella instantly garnered everyone’s attention when they showed up hand–in–hand.

“Seriously? What base are they at?” Joseph gaped at the couple from the second floor with a glass of

wine in his hand.

“What base? What are you talking about?” Bernard turned around

Joseph pointed at the backyard. “Look at Yoel and our Mrs. Fol–Oops, she’s not Mrs. Foley anymore. Just

Stella.

Brian, who had a few drinks, leaned into the couch. His eyes were closed until he heard Stella’s name. He

wandered to the balcony and peered down.

He saw Yoel at the entrance of the backyard, locking arms with a willowy young lady dressed in a soft pink dress. She looked gentle and ethereal with her long pearl drop earrings hobbling close to her slender

shoulders

A classic beauty, Stella was blessed with a slender figure with curves. When the

light illuminated her face,

she outshone every woman at the event with her otherworldly beauty.

Brian fixed his eyes on Stella. Joseph, noticing that two of his friends were charmed, waved his hands in their faces. “What’s wrong? Are you guys captivated by her beauty?”

Bernard slapped his hand away and lied, “Nonsense!”

“Why is she here?” Brian asked with a flat expression.

Smiling, Joseph explained, “Isn’t it obvious? She’s here as Yoel’s plus–one.

Brian’s expression darkened. At that moment, Bernard received a call from Jessica, who was standing by the floor–to–ceiling windows in her bedroom on the third floor.

Biting her lips, she watched as Stella became the center of attention. “Bernard, can you come to my room.

to help me out?”

“Of course.” Bernard left for the third floor without hesitation.
