Perfect Match: Irresistible Desire For You -
Chapter 223
The next morning, the bride’s dressing room was in full swing for the wedding.
Yasmin, who was sitting in front of the dresser patiently, was wearing a woolen suit jacket. She was gazing at herself in the mirror. She had her mother, Zara, and Ashley for company.
“Yasmin, never in my wildest dreams had I thought you would get married so soon,” Ashley exclaimed, admiring her friend’s delicate face.
She vividly remembered how Yasmin had ruined all the blind dates. She wasn’t satisfied with anyone and claimed she would remain single all her life. And yet, here she was, wearing the most beautiful dress and getting married to the man she loved.
No one would have predicted that Yasmin, who was wild and young, would have agreed to settle down so easily.
Zara, who was sitting next to Yasmin, let out a sad sigh. “Yes, everything happened so quickly. Several months ago, I was busy arranging blind dates and worrying about your marriage. But now, you are getting married and soon I will be a grandmother. How time flies!”
“Aunt, you should consider yourself lucky that everything is happening so fast and smoothly.” Looking at Zara’s sad eyes, Ashley tried to cheer her up.
“Yes, Mom. When I was unwilling to get married, you kept pushing me. And now that I’m getting married, you don’t seem too happy. It’s so difficult to please you,” Yasmin joked, observing the change in her mother’s countenance through the dressing mirror.
“What are you talking about? I am very pleased with everything. It’s just that I don’t want you to leave me so quickly,” Zara said, trying to clear the misunderstanding. The melancholy look on her face was gone. Now she spoke in her usual forthright manner. “Don’t waste your time talking. Also, cooperate with the make-up artist.”
Yasmin’s parents were contented with their daughter’s marriage to Zachary. It wasn’t just Zachary who loved their daughter. His entire family loved Yasmin and accepted her whole-heartedly. Apart from the little unwillingness to part with their little girl, everything was perfect.
“Yasmin, Auntie, I’m done!” a clear voice said from outside.
A slim girl in a white bridesmaid’s dress appeared before them.
“Oh, Patricia, you look so beautiful when you dress up!” Zara praised, catching sight of the beautiful girl.
“I’m not beautiful enough! Yasmin is the prettiest,” she said, shrugging off the compliment. With a big smile on her face, Patricia slowly approached Yasmin and fixed her gaze upon her. She let out a sigh and said, “Yasmin, you haven’t finished your make-up, and yet you look so gorgeous! Will Zachary faint when he sees you walking down the aisle?”
Before Yasmin could respond to this gushing compliment, Patricia’s eyes fell on Ashley. “Eh? Who is this beautiful lady?”
Ashley, who looked extremely beautiful, was sitting quietly beside Yasmin. Her soft curly hair hung down to her shoulders. Her features were extremely delicate and beautiful. Patricia was in awe of her beauty.
“Hello! I’m Ashley Guzman, a good friend of Yasmin.” Ashley stood up and introduced herself to the curious lady.
“Wow, Yasmin, your friend is as beautiful as you! I love seeing beautiful women! I’m Patricia Myers, Zachary’s cousin and great admirer of beauties.” Patricia’s eyes lit up as she walked towards Ashley.
Yasmin, who was watching Patricia through her mirror, saw the enthusiasm with which she stepped forward to see Ashley. She teased and said, “Patricia, don’t be so impatient. People who don’t know you might mistake your ardor. They will think you like girls. Also, you have only met her a few seconds ago. Why are you speaking to her so intimately?”
“Yasmin, why do you always have something negative to say? I can’t help but admire elegant women. And this friend of yours is so gorgeous. You can hardly blame me for my enthusiasm,” Patricia said. After a short pause, she added, “I respect her and would like to make my admiration known. Such elegance isn’t common! You don’t understand…”
“Are you trying to imply I am not graceful?” Yasmin asked, interrupting her speech.
The last one week had been tiresome for Patricia. She had been through several dates at her cousin-in-law and her mother’s insistence.
As a result, Patricia, who had been badly bullied, wasn’t in such good terms with Yasmin. She felt no guilt whatsoever.
Seeing that the two of them were about to bicker, Zara cut in, “You two are not young anymore. Please pay attention to the occasion.”
“Mom is right. I won’t bicker with a child!” Yasmin added obediently. She went on, “By the way, Patricia, the best man is your blind date today. Seize the opportunity and try to have fun. I don’t want you to thank me for this. The pleasure is all mine.”
Patricia, who was petite and had a slightly childish face, was often mistaken for a high school student. Even Yasmin, who was only a year older than her, regarded her as a child.
Patricia noticed that the bride was about to bully her again. She was starting to feel aggrieved. “Auntie, Ashley, my unscrupulous cousin-in-law bullied me again…”
Her cousin and cousin-in-law were both scheming against her. The only reason Patricia had insisted on becoming Yasmin’s bridesmaid was because she thought it would give her a break. At least on Zachary’s wedding day, she wouldn’t have to worry about any blind dates.
Obviously, she didn’t know Yasmin was way ahead of her. She had set her up with the best man! Patricia was doomed.
Overcome with anger, she chose to ignore Yasmin and talk to Ashley instead.
After a while, the make-up artist gently applied l*p gloss on Yasmin’s lips and said with a smile, “Miss Olson, it’s done. I don’t think I have seen such a beautiful bride in my life!”
Since Yasmin was pregnant now, she decided to apply light make-up. After all, she was already glowing. There was a beautiful smile on her face.
Yasmin stood up elegantly and removed the thermal coat she was wearing. Now she was in a long strapless white wedding dress. Her natural endowment was slightly revealed by the low neckline. Her long hair was coiled up, disclosing her beautiful neck and round shoulders. She was a sight to behold! Her fair skin and the flawless high-end wedding dress were in sync. Her beautiful cheeks were rosier than usual.
This natural beauty instantly attracted everyone’s attention.
“Wow, Yasmin, I could call you a graceful beauty when you are silent. Wow! I can’t get over how gorgeous you are!” Patricia exclaimed, taken aback by Yasmin’s beauty.
“Thank you for your praise, Patricia,” Yasmin replied with a faint smile, revealing a gentle and charming temperament.
Ashley’s eyes were fixed on her friend. She praised her profusely, “You are so beautiful, Yasmin! I am sure Zachary will be amazed when he sees you!”
“The bridegroom is here.”
At this moment, Zara, who had been gone for a minute, made a re-entry with this information.
Soon, a group of women followed the bride out of the dressing room.
