Barry had to admit that he couldn’t compete with Joseph even in his wildest dreams. Patricia seemed very infatuated with Joseph and had been watching him in awe. This filled his heart with unease. As a result, Barry’s tone was mingled with anger and disappointment.

Patricia stared at him with a cold expression. In the end, Barry chose to drown his sorrows by drinking. He drank just about everything the guests had poured for Zachary.

When he learned Yasmin had set up wonderful blind dates for Patricia in the past few days, he worried if they continued to force her to keep going on such dates she might end up with a boyfriend. Barry couldn’t come to terms with this.

As for Patricia’s claim that she was homosexual, he wouldn’t take it seriously. He knew it was her excuse to stop Yasmin from pestering her.

All the events that had unraveled in today’s wedding banquet convinced him to confess. If he wouldn’t take a prompt action, it might be too late. Now the two stood staring at each other. Silence ensued for a while.

Once the stunned girl completely digested the words that Barry had spoken, her pupils dilated in horror.

‘The other half?’ she thought to herself, a shiver rippling over her skin. Patricia was positive she hadn’t misheard him. She understood the meaning of the sentence, but she thought Barry had to be out of his mind to say such a thing.

“Barry, are you out of mind? Is your brain damaged?” Patricia asked, raising her head and looking at him straight in the eyes.

She was unprepared for such a sudden confession from her enemy.

For Barry, it was the first time he had poured his heart open for another person. But unfortunately, his confession of love was regarded as a mental disorder by the other party. She stared at him in horror, making him feel miserable.

Barry had been paying close attention to the emotional fluctuation on Patricia’s face. At first, Patricia looked at him with a blank expression. She couldn’t believe what he was saying. Suddenly, she experienced an epiphany. However, when she spoke, she spoke to dismiss his confession.

“I’m serious, Patricia! In fact, I have never been more serious,” Barry said, staring at her with clear eyes. He understood she had failed to see the seriousness of the situation.

Patricia stared into his eyes. She had to admit that she believed his words. For some reason, it made her scared.

She definitely enjoyed admiring handsome men and beautiful women. And she preferred admiring handsome yet cold men like Barry from afar. Having been infatuated with Joseph, she had no interest in the less handsome Barry. Moreover, she wasn’t even into him. There was no way she would agree to marry him.

“Why do you have a crush on me? I am pretty sure it will fade soon. In fact, I could help you get over it!” After another futile struggle, Patricia looked at Barry, her eyes shining with hope.

Seeing that Barry was just looking at her quietly, Patricia, who was trying her best to express her refusal, said fiercely, “Actually, I’m not even that good looking. I have a hot temper and people replace it hard to tolerate me. Besides, like you already know, I’m a nympho. Isn’t that something you hate the most about me? And I’m a fickle person. Most importantly… Hmm…”

Patricia, who was thinking of all her flaws, instantly stopped. Barry had taken a step forward and kissed her. Her voice died away.

After a while, she pulled herself away from his embrace and ran away. She blushed crimson from embarrassment.

‘It was a terrible k**s! But why is my heart still beating so fast?’ she asked herself. ‘Perhaps it must be because my mood fluctuated too much. Yes, only that can explain the erratic beating of my heart. And Barry must have kissed me because he had drunk too much. This means nothing. We are going to forget the k**s,’ she reasoned.

Barry, who was staggering backward, looked at the frantic pace at which the girl he loved was running. He smiled and touched his lips. ‘It tasted so good…’ he thought.

What Patricia had said before their k**s was true. She wasn’t a stunning beauty, nor did she possess a gentle and sweet nature. However, in Barry’s eyes, she had a natural charm that none of the other ladies had.

In the VIP room, both the couples sat quietly. They had seen Barry drag the adorable girl away. Yet they didn’t worry about it.

Zachary looked at the closed door and murmured to himself, “Barry drank a lot when he entertained the guests for me.”

“Does that mean they will have s*x tonight?” Yasmin asked, her eyes brightening. There was a tinge of excitement in her voice. The quiet atmosphere in the room had suddenly changed.

However, Barry and Patricia weren’t doing what Yasmin had ventured to guess. What they were doing and what would happen between them in the future were nothing but wonderful.

As Yasmin was busy making various conjectures, Ashley interrupted and broached another subject. “Don’t you two need to entertain the guests?” she asked.

“Yasmin just said she is tired from speaking to so many guests. That’s the reason we decided to come and see you,” Zachary answered as he slightly massaged his wife’s shoulders.

“Our parents are outside with the guests, so we thought there was no need for us to stay. Please don’t make us feel unwelcome,” Yasmin said with mock reproach as she caressed her belly.

Looking at the loving couple in front of her, Ashley said with a smile, “How dare we not welcome you? Moreover, you are a pregnant woman. You deserve to get lots of rest.”

“Getting married isn’t a piece of cake as I had thought. There are lots of preparations. We need to pose for a million photos and make it a point to strike up conversations with all the guests. Besides, I’m pregnant now. I guess that makes it even more tiring,” Yasmin said with a sigh. After a short pause, she looked at her friend and added, “Ashley, don’t hold a wedding ceremony when you’re pregnant. Learn from my experience.”

“Sister-in-law, when do you intend to get married?” Zachary asked with curiosity.

“I listen to Joseph. Whenever he wants to marry, I will,” she replied, glancing at Joseph from the corner of her eye.

“Oh my God! Ashley, you are not married to him yet. Why are you being so obedient? I don’t think this is good for a relationship,”

Yasmin said, not liking how her friend was so dependent on her boyfriend. However, she noticed Joseph’s cold expression. Her voice immediately dropped and she didn’t say all that she wanted to say.

“Yes, you are right!” Ashley nodded as if she was considering her friend’s advice.

At this moment, the innocent bride felt Joseph’s sharp eyes piercing through her.

The sweet couple not only showed off their marriage and their upcoming baby, but also tried to stir trouble for Joseph. He was already experiencing trouble convincing her family. And now, they had taken him further away from his dream to marry. He was definitely upset.

After a few seconds had passed, Ashley cleared her voice and said, “There should be a romantic proposal anyway. Yasmin, you chose to get married without a romantic proposal, right?”

When Joseph heard what Ashley said, his strained, handsome face soon softened. Zachary, who had planned to watch a good show, was dismayed. “Sister-in-law, how can you say that? How do you know that I didn’t propose to Yasmin?” he protested unhappily.

Ashley was rendered speechless. This was between the two of them. She had simply assumed there wasn’t one since Yasmin hadn’t mentioned it.

Yasmin, who had been silent for some time, turned to Zachary and demanded, “Did you propose to me?” Ashley’s words had put her deep in thought. She suddenly recollected the events of past.

After Zachary and Yasmin expressed their love for each other, she had become pregnant. There was no time for any romantic proposal.

Now that she was reminded of this, Yasmin couldn’t help but feel a little angry at her husband.

They had intended to stir up trouble for Ashley and Joseph. In the end, they ended up turning against each other. The tables were turned.
