The following week was a painful symphony of muscle aches, persistent headaches, buckets of sweat, and those unpleasant protein shakes Aly insisted on making. If I had to try one of those nauseating shakes again, I might explode at any moment.

However, she was right that they were beneficial for my body, even though my taste buds vehemently resisted. A week of grueling training hadn’t turned me into an unshakable warrior, but at least I could hold my own. I’d probably put up a fight if I had to face another werewolf, but I was confident I could handle a regular human with ease.

The change had accelerated the natural processes of my body, providing me with faster results than an average human would see. Although I wasn’t covered in thick muscles, my slim figure had strengthened. My stomach had become firmer, hinting at muscles beneath my pale skin. My legs, once as thin as feathers, were now toned.

Liam and Ethan seemed fascinated with the changes in the lower half of my body, meaning my legs and butt. They took every opportunity to appreciate the changes, and while I pretended to be annoyed by their constant poking and pinching, I secretly appreciated it.

The only comforting moments were the ones I got to share with the Twins. They were a respite from the exhausting training and persistent sore muscles.

Axel had received news from his friends at High Table, most of whom were eager to meet me. I wasn’t fooling myself into thinking this meant anything in particular. Somehow, I felt like a spectacle; as if I were a wild animal that had to be deemed fit to coexist in society, or else be sacrificed.

Both Gea and I were infuriated by the thought; we insisted that she was less of a wild animal and more of an elegant beast.

Axel didn’t replace any more information about the ’emotional leech.’ His supposed friends at High Table, whom we were beginning to doubt truly were his friends, wanted to meet me before searching their archives.

If my abilities were as deadly as they seemed, I had a strong feeling that many Alphas would vote against my life. It was ironically sad and sinister to think of a group of middle-aged men gathering to decide my fate. My life?

Although anxiety grew in my gut, I trusted Liam and Ethan completely. They insisted that it was forbidden to kill an Alpha’s mate, but they doubted that would stop the Alpha from High Table. In any case, we had three packs fighting for me, which comforted me, though I worried about the lives lost in my name.

As the weekend approached, the restlessness in my stomach increased. These two days would be the last of the life I knew. From Monday onwards, everything would change. I had to replace a way to make a living, or a war would break out.

I was far from where I had been months ago, under Lia and Dub’s control. Now, I yearned to escape, form my own connections, and build my own life. I had everything I had ever wanted, and more.

On Monday, we were ready to leave. I didn’t dare ask where we were going. Axel, Thomas, Liam, Ethan, the Twins’ parents, and even Aly would come with us. We would bring several warriors, and I wondered how we would transport them all. I couldn’t imagine all of us boarding a flight like normal people.

Although I was nervous about Monday, there were other concerns on my mind. This Sunday, the Twins would perform a ceremony to officially name me the Luna of their pack. I felt fearful of the responsibility, but their words of encouragement helped calm that fear.

I wasn’t sure if I was worthy of being the Luna. However, I decided to face my fears this time. I was proud to admit that running away was no longer an option in my mind, just a cowardly escape.

As I put on my training clothes on Friday morning, Liam and Ethan walked into the room. They had left early to prepare everything for our Monday trip. I expected to see Aly, who insisted on joining us at dawn.

Both of them looked incredible in matching outfits but also displayed small differences that reflected their own personalities. Ethan wore a dark leather jacket, a white t-shirt, and ripped jeans. He often carried a couple of thick combat books with him, giving him the look of a biker with a feline attitude.

Liam had a slightly more professional look, with a button-down shirt rolled up to his elbows. Both had cut their hair a week ago in an almost identical style: shaved on the sides and longer on the top. Ethan’s longer strands tickled just above his eyebrow.

“Will you both join me for training today?” I asked, raising an eyebrow at the two of them. I crossed my arms over my chest, ignoring how my breasts were accentuated in the sports bra. I felt particularly playful this morning and smiled at the two impressive twins in the room. “I could show you what I’ve learned. If I manage to beat both of you, does that mean I’ll become the Alpha?”

My comment elicited a reaction, though not quite what I expected. Liam and Ethan stared at each other for a brief moment. Ethan chuckled and gave me a mischievous smile, while Liam shook his head and clicked his tongue.

My reflexes had improved since training with Aly, and I managed to react when Liam lunged at me. I sidestepped, holding onto the dresser as he tumbled onto the bed. I couldn’t help but let out an embarrassed laugh as he rolled off the bed and ended up on the floor, taking some pillows with him.

My laughter turned into a playful scream as Ethan caught me off guard, wrapping his arms around my torso and flipping me over his shoulder. He threw me onto the bed as if I were a sack of flour. Before I could think of my next move, Liam pounced on me. His knees were on either side of my h**s, and he held my hands above my head with a playful grin.

I squirmed in their embrace as Liam leaned forward, allowing the longer strands of his hair to tickle my nose. My heart pounded, and the sparks dancing across my skin resembled an adrenaline rush.

“Someone’s in a bad mood this morning,” Liam cooed, tilting his head to the side. “Maybe our little companion doesn’t deserve her gift. What do you think, brother?”

“Mm, speak for yourself. I like fighters,” Ethan murmured, crossing his arms over his broad chest.

Butterflies fluttered in my stomach as I quickly winked at them, making a gesture that brushed against the hardness between their legs.

“I think Liam likes fighters too,” I replied sweetly, feeling my cheeks flush.

“It’s thanks to you, sweetheart,” Liam smiled, getting closer. I could smell the minty toothpaste on his breath, which made me feel a bit disoriented. My tongue wandered over my dry lips, and Liam followed the movement with darkened eyes. “If you don’t stop doing that, you won’t get your gift.”

“Does my gift involve both of you?” I asked boldly, although my face turned an embarrassed shade of red.

Ethan’s deep laughter ran down my spine, sending tingles to my legs. I had no objections to skipping training with Aly and having a different kind of training with the twins.

“So insatiable,” Liam purred, glancing at his brother, whose intense gaze was fixed on the quick rise and fall of my chest. “Have you been eager to have both of us alone, darling?” Ethan commented, his eyes gleaming with dark excitement.

“Are you sure you can handle both?” Liam asked as his hand skillfully glided over the waistband of my leggings, causing an intoxicating sensation to wash over me. My legs trembled as he gently removed my thin piece of underwear, sparking a sharp desire between my legs and a bitter taste of temptation and doubt.

“She’s eager to give it a try,” Liam mused, observing the moisture on his fingers before bringing them to his mouth, which instantly elicited a reaction from me. I felt my body burning with passion at such a sight.

Slowly, Liam pulled away from my lips and smiled tenderly. “Although we’d love to fully surrender now, if we don’t hurry, we won’t be able to do it until late at night.”

His words puzzled me, replacing some of the l**t in my eyes with confusion. “Where are we going?” I asked, looking alternately at Liam and Ethan, who shared identical smiles that quickened my heart.

“You didn’t think your surprise was here, did you?” Liam chuckled softly as he got up from the bed. I took his outstretched hand and happily allowed him to embrace me. His lips passionately melded with mine, while the masculine scent of mint and freshness completely intoxicated me.

My mind was spinning as their teeth gently brushed against my lower l*p. I still felt somewhat dazed when Ethan took his turn, wrapping me in his strong arms and surrendering to those soft velvet-like lips. While Liam received my nibbles and licks, Ethan took complete control of the situation. His tongue fought for dominance and triumphed every time. Kissing them was like diving into an ocean, but I had never been so happy to let myself be carried away by passion.

“Don’t worry, we’ll have plenty of time to enjoy you once we get there,” Ethan murmured against my lips, gently squeezing my waist.

Still enveloped in a state of l**t, I followed Liam and Ethan to one of the cars parked in their driveway. I smiled softly as Liam opened the passenger door for me and hurried to fasten my seatbelt. I was beginning to notice the little things about the twins, how they enjoyed doing the simplest things for me. They brought me dinner before themselves, prepared baths for me, and even took care of washing my dirty clothes. They had noticed my preferences, such as the pleasure I felt with fresh sheets caressing my skin. Every night, the sheets were freshly washed, and even if it was the staff who did it, it was at Liam and Ethan’s request.

Throughout the journey, I couldn’t stop thinking about both of them, but I lost track of how long we had been on the road. We made some stops for bathroom breaks, and I had a lot of fun when Liam returned from the gas station with bags full of random snacks.

My excitement grew as Liam removed the blindfold covering my eyes and secured it behind my head. They assured me that we were almost there but wanted to keep the surprise. Although I couldn’t see, my other senses were alert. The scent of damp earth and fresh water filled the air, accompanied by the sweet aroma of sap emanating from the trees in the town. The crunch of gravel under the car’s tires resonated in my ears, and as we walked, I felt Liam’s rough hands guiding and steadying me.

The laughter that filled the air was contagious, freeing us from the weight we had felt during the past week.

The sweet singing of birds filled the air, confirming that we were in some kind of forest.

“Where are we?” I exhaled as Ethan removed the blindfold from my eyes.

In front of us stood a huge cabin, with a warm reddish hue on the exterior wood and large windows that offered a glimpse of a luxurious interior. A wide porch wrapped around the house, providing views of a long dock and a crystal-clear lake. Trees surrounded the cabin, filling the air with the pleasant scent of sap and pine. My eyes delighted in the beauty of the place, taking in every detail around me.

The twins remained silent, allowing me to take it all in at my own pace. When I turned to look at them, I noticed their cheeks were flushed, and their faces reflected identical nervousness and hope.

“It’s only until Monday, but we thought you could use a break,” Liam broke the silence, playing with his hair at the nape of his neck. His shyness touched me deeply.

Without holding back, I lunged at the twins and embraced them, smiling so intensely that my face hurt. “It’s perfect, I love it.” I laughed, and their relief and joy were evident.

However, my smile faltered for a moment. “But I don’t have any clothes here.”

“Don’t worry, darling,” Ethan said with a mischievous smile that I knew foreshadowed trouble. “We’ve taken the liberty of packing your things.”

Liam interjected, and I could see how his eyes met Ethan’s while a smile formed on his face.
