10. Cassiel

My hand trembles slightly as I raise my finger to ring Aza’s doorbell. Ugh, why do I feel so nervous? I press the button and have to wait all of one second before the door is opened and he is standing in front of me. Looking fine decked out in a black tee shirt, black jeans and barefoot. Growl. He leads me into his kitchen and asks what I would like to drink. Teasingly I ask for the wine that I had seen in his cart this morning. He looks at me stunned and actually goes to pull it out of the fridge. Giggling, I quickly stop him, letting him know that I was joking and that I would like a water. Thereafter I ask how he wants to spend our time today and then suggest that we could hang out and watch television. Aza agrees to my idea and takes my hand leading me into the living room. He looks around the room as though contemplating a thought and then begins to walk around the room gathering up all the blankets within it.

I watch as he lays all the blankets on the floor and then grabs the pillows doing the same. I realize he’s doing this so that we can lay on it together comfortably. He asks if I’m okay with the idea and I can’t help smiling because of course I’m okay with this setup. The giddy excitement running through me is barely contained as we sit on the blankets. We both adjust the pillows up against the couch so that we are in an in between position of sitting and lying down. Aza leans behind him stretching his arm out to get the remote controller and turns the television on. We agree on some random movie and then scoot closer to one another. Back and forth we sneak glances at one another throughout the entire film but the only action that occurs is the interlocking of hands lacing of fingers. Which I felt was very sweet of him but for me I want to get to know him a little more intimately.

Aza stands up and says he’s going to start working on dinner. He tells me that I can stay where I am and pick something to watch while he was busy in the kitchen. I nod but ask, “do you mind if I come sit by the counter while you cook? T.V. isn’t nearly as fun when I watch it by myself.” He grins and says of course. Hopping up to my feet, I follow him back into the kitchen claiming a seat on the nearest stool. I watch him pull out chicken from the fridge and a box of pasta from off a shelf. He grabs a pot to boil water and a sauté pan to cook the chicken in. As he throws things in pots and pans, I watch him work. Freaking dead sexy seeing a man in the kitchen who know what they’re doing. It makes me all the more intrigued to get to taste it. We chat and crack jokes and are just totally at ease with one another.

It smells so good in here it’s causing my stomach to grumble and gurgle in hunger. “Oh my gosh I’m suddenly starving!” I exclaim as I watch him place the food on two dishes. I offer to grab one of the bottles of wine and we move over to the table that sits just outside of the kitchen area. Just before he sat down, Aza remembered he needed the wine opener. Saying he’d be right back he ran into the kitchen, and I could hear a drawer open and quickly closed and then he reappears. Aza pours each of us a glass and then tells me to dig in. Something that didn’t need to be said twice. “Oh, my stars! You’re a chef God!” I praise and he smiles proudly at my statement. “The wine paired quite nicely with our meal I must say.” My body feels looser, more limber and since I’ve never had human wine, I suspect it is the cause of this lovely sensation. One downside to this beverage, my lips seem looser too and all thoughts that pop in my head tumble from out my mouth. With a twinkle in my eyes, I look at him coyly and ask, “would you like to go back into the living room?” Aza stands and scoops up the dishes, running them into the kitchen.

When he walks into the living room, he’s holding the 2nd bottle of wine in his hands and says, “for just in case we finish the first one.” Together we sit back down on the blankets, and he picks up his remote flipping the television on at the same time.

My body buzzes and I can’t help saying, “this stuff is really good. I’ve never had it before.” Promptly I close my mouth shut because it’s not something an 18-year-old human would proclaim.

“I like it, but I prefer whiskey myself,” Aza says.

“I’ve had that before and I agree it is good. However, my glass is empty, do you mind pouring another for me?” He lifts the bottle and does as I ask. After this glass takes hold of me, I don’t know why but I whisper instead of speaking in a normal voice. It wasn’t like anyone else was in the house. None-the-less I whisper, “you know what would be more fun than drinking the wine?” He raises his eyebrows in question, and I’m surprised that his line of thought isn’t the same as mine. I sit my glass aside and then lean towards him quickly settling my lips upon his.

“Oh,” he exclaims as surprise turns to passion. Aza leans into me deepening the kiss. I moan against his lips as I feel his tongue brush against mine. I run my hands along his neck and pull him with me as I reposition myself so that I’m lying on my back with Aza pressed against my body. The wine has definitely gone to my head making me more um, adventurous. I wiggle around until I’m able push him over and am straddling him. We have managed to remove each other’s shirts but that is all, at the moment. The passion between us is intense, and I’ve never slept with someone on a first date before. As this thought passes through my mind, I begin to reel in my emotions. Still perched on top of him I sit myself up so I can look into his eyes. And even as I say, “we should stop, we need to stop I mean,” I still run my fingertips up and down his beautiful abs and chest. I can’t seem to stop myself from touching him, my breathing out of sync.

I smile to see he is breathing just as hard as I am, but he agrees to stop and stretches off to the side taking my shirt in his hand, passing it over to me. Pulling the shirt down over my head, I can feel his hands on either side of my waist brushing across my skin causing a shiver to roll across my body. Placing both my hands on his chest, I push myself up and off of him, standing up. “Want to join me on the porch before you decide to leave for the evening?” he asks as he maneuvers himself into a sitting position. Nodding yes, I put my hands out for him to take a hold of and then pull him to his feet. I’m very disappointed that he feels the need to put his shirt back on, but I don’t say anything. If I do, I feel that we may end up in the same spot as a minute ago. Aza takes my hand, and we walk through the doorway and out onto the porch. He grabs my waist and lifts me so that I’m sitting on the railing. He takes his cigarettes from where they were sitting on the ledge of the windowsill and offers me one. I’ve smoked a couple of times, so I don’t hesitate to take one. He puts a lighter in front of me and I lean forward slightly so that I can light mine. Aza places his cigarettes and lighter back on the ledge and then turns so that he’s standing so close to me that I can wrap my legs around his waist which I do. Hooking my legs, I pull him into me and look up into his eyes.

“What are you doing to me Cass? I have never felt this way about anyone in my life and in such a short amount of time.” He says as he stares into my eyes too. He turns his head and blows out a puff of smoke and then takes his left hand cupping the side of my face. I lean against his open palm.

“I could say the same about you...” He doesn’t hesitate after I say this and his lips crash against mine. The kiss deepens quite quickly, and I move my arms so my hands tangle in his hair, bringing him even closer to me if that’s possible. Aza is the one to stop the kiss this time and I look at him curiously, “If we don’t stop now, I’m not going to stop,” I nod my head breathlessly because I wouldn’t have stopped him from scooping me up and taking me back inside to his bedroom.

Hopping down from the railing, I wrap my arms around his waist and lean my head against his chest listening as his heartbeat steadies itself out. “Yeah, I better go because I understand exactly what you mean about not stopping,” I step back and gaze into his eyes. He leans down and places a chaste kiss upon my forehead. “Oh, I forgot, I bought you a gift,” his eyes light up as he says this and then he goes into the house reappearing in seconds. Aza hands me a white box and I stare at it for a moment. “Open it,” he urges. Smiling I don’t hesitate and pop the lid off. “What! You didn’t have to do that,” I exclaim as I hold up a phone. “Why?” I asked baffled. No one has ever given me a gift before. He grins, “this way we can talk whenever, or send messages to each other. I’ve already put my number in there.” My smile cannot get any wider than it already is. “Okay. Well, I should probably get back to my house. I’ll send you a message later.” He nods and I give him one last hug before going down the porch steps. Walking across the street I come to stand in front of my own door and then turn my head to see him watching me. Aza waves and I wave back and then at the same time we enter our perspective homes.
