Yasmine was a bit puzzled. Why did Eric suddenly mention parallel universes? Most people think that memory confusion is due to interference from parallel worlds, but that notion does seem quite sci-fi. From a psychological point of view, memory confusion stems from self-doubt. But there are exceptions, like significant trauma or hypnosis.
Yasmine thought for a long time. She hadn't experienced any major trauma, but she couldn't be sure about the hypnosis
part.
Eric's voice rang out again, "A parallel world in reality is hard to imagine, but you can think of it as a parallel world in your mind, where every branch of time is a parallel world. When stimulated, the branches you've experienced might intertwine -this is what causes memory confusion." He paused before continuing, "Of course, it's also possible that you haven't been stimulated, but there's still a chance of forgetting subconsciously."
Yasmine understood what Eric meant. Forgetting subconsciously is scarier than losing memory due to a stimulus-it's what people call self-deception. However, this most sensible explanation didn't make sense for her; she had no reason to forget Yoselin three years ago, and even less to forget Yonas.
"Mr. Smith, Yoselin's condition has stabilized, it seems like there's nothing wrong, but I still feel uneasy," Yasmine thought. It was like the calm before the storm. Every psychological disorder seems to be in a hibernation state when stable, but once it erupts, it becomes unimaginable.
Eric understood her concerns, "All we can do is provide alleviating treatments; psychological issues are the hardest to eradicate."
"Okay, thank you, Mr. Russell," Yasmine said.
Eric told her not to worry, "If you need a hypnotherapist, feel free to contact me," he said calmly.
After hanging up the phone and waiting a few minutes, Yoselin handed over the completed test papers, "Yasmine, I'm done." This set of tests wasn't difficult; it was just to monitor her emotional changes. Yasmine nodded, still lost in the conversation she just had with Eric.
Yoselin glanced at the time and jumped up. "Yasmine, I have to go, or Grandpa will start checking on me." Most importantly, Irene had said she should come back early.
After Yoselin left, Yasmine kept researching the memory disorder issue. Somehow, the collective amnesia only happened to her and Yoselin, and there was still a possibility that those things weren't real.
As Eric said, Yonas' experiences were all based on certain perceptions. The scenes he described might not have truly happened but could have been imagined from the depths of his memory.
Back at the White family residence, Irene smashed everything in her room to pieces. Whenever she thought about Crescent Isle, it gave her a headache. It was a disgrace for her. She had never been played like this, especially during the meeting today when those directors kept making sly remarks, as if saying how incompetent she was
William called her into the study with a stern face, "During the auction, I didn't see you being this fierce. Only at home do you act tough."
"Mr. Lewis! It's that woman's fault! She intentionally guided me to buy Crescent Isle and found someone to compete for Misty Evergreen Isle, Irene said.
William glared at her, "Fool! Duped and still oblivious, do you think it was only Yasmine who tricked you? Hunter told you things straight to your face, but why could Yasmine see through at while you blindly believed him?" He'd heard all about the auction, especially the conversation between Yasmine and Hunter after it wrapped up. Although he wasn't there, it didn't

stop a flood of people from bringing him recordings
Talking about this, Irene you even angrier "Grandpa Hunter abways said he'd treat you like a real brother, but just loo how he treats us! He played the role perfectly, bidding on nearly everything a the auction missing almost nothing. I thought he was failing to win anything out of pity. He's quite something
William glanced out the window, his voice calm, "Did you really think that old fellow treated you like his own granddaughter? We're businessmen, never trust anything tied to profit easily. You've completely forgotten all my war Irene felt a bit wronged, but she had to admit it-the knew she had overstepped here.
William looked at the proposal in front of him, his voice icy, "Redo this proposal. The scenery on Crescent Isle is quite Although it's not on the new route, Soucrity is heavily promoting tourism now. If we plan Crescent Isle properly, it mi just hold its own against Misty Evergreen Ide
"Yes, Grandpa, Irene said, clenching her fists. Her grandpa was right; Crescent Isle was her disgrace, and if she wanted: regain her honor, she had to make a stand there once more. Just as she was about to leave, she was stopped again by William's question, "How are things with Yonas?"
Yonas? Irene's face turned sour. Although Yonas hadn't been meeting Yasmine as often lately, he was still avoiding her. E since the incident in the villa district, Yonas seemed to see her with a veil of hostility, but she believed she hadn't given herself away, "Grandpa, Yonas... he...
"Stop delaying. The Russell family has a prominent status in Soucrity, and if the White family could join with them, our status would become akin to the Russell Group. I've long urged you to act swiftly, yet you've procrastinated until now," William said coldly. Irene nodded, blaming Yasmine. She mused,
Yvette had been in the hospital for two days, and doctors had run numerous tests on her without replaceing anything. Police stood guard outside her ward every day as if she were a criminal.
Melissa brought a bowl of soup over. Noticing Selena and Xavier weren't in the room, she grumbled, "The Flynn family is Something else; you're in the hospital and Xavier isn't even here to keep you company."
Yvette sat up as Melissa placed a pillow behind her back. "Come, have this, Melissa said, setting the bowl on the table. "Doe it still hurt today?"
Feeling guilty, Yvette walked over and whispered in her mother's ear, "Mom, help me. I don't want to go to jail. I know I was wrong."
Melissa held her daughter's hand and patted the back of it, "Don't be scared. It's that shameless girl always trying to seduce Xavier. It's only natural that you'd lose control being tricked by that White girl. You really were clueless! Why didn't you think to keep any evidence?" Yvette sat down in fear and drank the soup her mother made. She sighed helplessly, "Even if I had evidence, what good would it do? She's Irene, and there's no way Mr. White would let her go to jail. In the end, I'd just be the scapegoat again." Melissa sighed, knowing Yvette was right. "It's my fault for not giving you the same background as Irene. Now, being pregnant, you have to live in fear of being sent to prison.*
