Rebirth of the Prime Dragon Master
Chapter 128 Beat A Hasty Retreat (Part Two)

"Let's go. He must be doomed to die going alone in that direction. We are safe because we have somany team members united together,” Zander sneered and led the rest of the spirit manipulators tothe direction he had pointed. He felt victorious because his team members obediently followed thepath he chose.

But, under the guidance of Zander, they soon came back to the crossroad where they separatedwith Rocky. It seemed they just circled around in the area. The spirit manipulators felt scared andconfused.

"Captain, it seems we are lost. It would be better if we let the spirit-manipulated beast to replace thecorrect way," Thor said.

"Who said we are lost? It was just a little deviation of my memory. It is actually this way," Zandercursed and guided the team to another direction. His pride was too high to admit that he waswrong. He led the team and hoped that they were really following the right way.

However, upon entering that direction, it was like another maze. The paths were complicated andbarely visible. They could not distinguish the way and they lost sight of everything that was a yardaway. The area was completely surrounded by a dense fog.

Suddenly, under the cover of the dense fog, a quiet black shadow appeared. Its sharp red eyesstared at the sixth unit who strayed in the fog.

"Captain, where are we now? How are we supposed to get out of this place?" several timid spiritmanipulators were already frightened. They questioned their team leader's decision as if theyregretted to follow Zander. They scanned their surroundings but they could barely see anythingwith the thick fog shrouding their view.

"What are you pushing me for? I'm the captain of the team. Is it possible for me to lead you to thewrong way? All you have to do is to trust me and follow me!" Even as Zander yelled at his teammembers angrily to defend himself, he was now extremely worried. He can't distinguish the way, letalone walk out of the area.

Meanwhile, their spirit-manipulated beasts kept quivering ever since they entered this area. Theirlegs were numb as they staggered along the way, as if they were terrified of something. He realizedhe could not count on these beasts to replace the way out.

The sixth unit wandered under highly charged and frightening emotions in the dense fog area. Butno matter which way they tried to proceed, they never moved an inch towards the exit. In fact, theyfelt they never moved at all from where they were in the first place. They just kept walking aroundthe same area.

After a moment, Zander almost fell on his face as he stumbled on something on the ground. He wasabout to swear but frozen when he saw what almost tripped him. It was a bloody body. It seemed asif he was horribly tortured before he was put to death. His clothes were all torn up, his body wasmutilated beyond recognition, and the whole floor was covered with a pool of blood. Moreimportantly, he had the military robe of the fifth unit. Other spirit manipulators quivered fromtremendous horror.

The spirit manipulators from the third and fifth team were all assaulted successively. If it were merecoincidences, then it would be too farfetched.

"Captain, we... We need to think of a way to get out of here urgently.” The spirit manipulators wereterrified to the extent that they were now on the verge of collapse.

"Stop dictating me!" Zander yelled in annoyance. He himself was scared out of his wits. His wholebody trembled as well from great panic. The pressure from this team only stressed him further.

At that moment, a spirit manipulator behind Joss cried out all in a sudden. His voice rang throughthe area. In a split of a second, he fell down and was instantly dragged backward by a stream ofpower.

Zander was too stunned at the sight of the scene that he did not know how to respond for a while. His whole body froze in terror. When he finally realized he had to save his team member, the spiritmanipulator was almost pulled into the dense fog. If they could not save him, there would only beone end for him.

"Hurry up! Let the spirit-manipulated beasts go and save him," Zander shouted in a rush. They didnot have time to spare to just stare while their team member was being dragged. They had to actfast.

But even the spirit-manipulated beasts were too frightened to move. They kept growling as if therewere something so horrible and terrifying behind the fog.

In that critical moment, a piece of sharp bamboo was shot out from nowhere. It pinned on theground right between the middle of both legs of the spirit manipulator who was being dragged intothe fog

Another cry rang through the scene. It was from that spirit manipulator again. This time, it wasbecause of the bamboo. The bamboo may have stopped him from being dragged further into thefog, but it also hurt. His face turned purple from the unbearable pain caused by the bamboo whichwas pinned in between his two legs.

"What are you still waiting for? Go taking him back now,” someone shouted hastily. A shadowsuddenly emerged in the fog. It was none other than Rocky. The spirit manipulators were stunned athis arrival

"Rocky!" Thor and Joss were startled at first, but soon they babbled with wild joy. Then theyimmediately rushed to that spirit manipulator and pulled him back.

Suddenly, there was a roar of rage from the dense fog. The trees and grasses shook as it grew. Thelurking danger was approaching the sixth unit. The scene was enveloped with an eerie atmosphere.Despite the impending danger, they didn't know how to defend themselves. They were clueless towhat their enemy looked like. They were completely exposed, yet they knew nothing about theirenemy.
