Chapter 1660 Situation Getting Worse

In order to heal his wounds, Rocky had to keep mute as Esteban told him to. Every day, he lookedup at Esteban with big eyes and watched the latter use different methods to try and fix him.

His consciousness had returned for a few days and now, he wanted Esteban to repair himcompletely. Although Esteban’s efforts were not obvious to the naked eye, Rocky could feel hisbody slowly recovering.

Yet, he still didn't feel the presence of the power that had once flowed through his body. It was likeit had vanished into thin air. Fortunately, he had been mentally prepared for that to happen. Afterall, he had exhausted the power in the Scarlet Heaven Jade. Now, he had to pay the correspondingprice. And losing his strength was not that serious. He could have died instead. Rocky felt extremelylucky to have survived at all.

The recovery was hard but Rocky had grown used to it and he did not replace it boring. He tookadvantage of the time and tried to learn new things. After all, he was a geneticist, and the genetictechnology was based on medical skills. He paid close attention to all the strategies Esteban wasusing to treat him, studying his medical skills secretly.

Half a month went by.

Rocky had been imprisoned to the ice bed for so long that when he could finally stand, his limbsbarely moved. He could not go far, but it was better than lying on the ice bed every day.

Esteban was surprised to see that Rocky, who had been more of a zombie than a human lately, hadrecovered so much in just one month. He was very confident in his own medical skills, but thiswould have never happened if Rocky did not possess a good physique and an amazing recoveryability.

In addition, while he was treating Rocky, he discovered that Rocky's physique was completelydifferent than any human being he had treated before. He saw traces of power in his skin. Rockyhad been seriously injured, and Esteban figured that he was able to recover because of the uniqueaspects of him.

Of course, Esteban didn't care about Rocky's identity or background. What he cared about waswhether he could completely restore Rocky back to his original self. After all, he considered him asnothing but a trial subject. If he could return Rocky to his full health, he would take a qualitativeleap in his medical skills.

Now that he was ambulatory once again, Rocky began to recover faster and smoother.

In just a few days, Rocky could flex every joint and contract every muscle fully. Minus the fact thathe could not feel any power in his body, he looked like an ordinary, healthy human.

However, his recovery signaled the beginning of a life of enslavement. On the second day he wasable to move freely, Esteban sent him on errands like collecting groceries in the Ghost Palace andfilling up tubs with warm water so he could wash his feet before he went to bed.

And because Rocky was an ordinary man now, he had no strength to resist Esteban. In addition,Esteban did save his life, so he felt like he had to repay him and act as his servant for a while.

The only advantage of being a servant was that Rocky was free to wander inside the Ghost Palace. Afew times, he tried to leave the Ghost Palace while Esteban was sleeping or away, but he was quickto discover that the Ghost Palace had been sealed and Esteban was the only person who couldcome and go from it. So he was forced to give up the idea of leaving and he continued to try torecover his power in the Ghost Palace

At first, Rocky didn't think he could ever recover his strength because he had nearly died. As a resultof that, his strength had fizzled out. If he had had his original strength, it wouldn't have taken such along time to recover.

After several days of trying to regain his power, Rocky came across something amazing. Although allthe power in his body was gone, including his original strength at the Emperor Realm, the meridiansin his body were more spacious than they had been when he broke through to the Emperor Realm.He even found some remnants of the power from the Scarlet Heaven Jade left in his meridians.Although the remaining power was minuscule, if he could slowly gather it, it could become thefoundation for his new cultivation.

Therefore, every day, when he wasn't busy serving Esteban, Rocky secretly tried to condense theremaining power of the Scarlet Heaven Jade in his meridians.

Slowly, the faint power began increase. As time passed, he had accumulated so much power that itresembled a dancing flame inside of him. With the flame as the foundation, he could start hiscultivation again.

A steady flow of water droplets could easily gather into a pool of spring water. The same principleapplied to the power in his body.

The moment that Rocky was able to successfully condense the power of the Scarlet Heaven Jade inhis body, a type of mind method called the Flaming Ogre Formula appeared in his mind.

At first, Rocky didn't understand what was going on. He immediately started practicing the FlamingOgre Formula and some unique skills flashed through his mind as if he had already owned them.Later, he realized that the action of merging the power of the Scarlet Heaven Jade and thememories of the powerful martial spirits in the jade had resulted in the martial spirits’ unique skillsbecoming his own.

Another month flew by.

With the help of the Flaming Ogre Formula, Rocky successfully broke through to the King RealmAlthough that was nothing compared to the Emperor Realm, he was quite satisfied with hisprogress. At the speed he was currently recovering at, he believed that he would be able to returnto the Emperor Realm within a few months.

While Rocky was struggling to survive and regain his strength, huge events had been occurring inthe human race.

It all stemmed from the death of the chief of the Di Clan and the rumors around Canaan, who hadreally been a member of the Shura Race in disguise that intended to destroy the human race.

The Di Clan was one of the most powerful forces in the human race for a long time. Even the Sky-suppressing Sect and the Sovereign Sect, who were old enemies, showed respect to the Di Clan.Normally, they stayed in line, but now, the death of the chief of the Di Clan had triggered a battlebetween them. The Sovereign Sect insisted that the chief of the Di Clan had been killed by Canaanand no one knew where they had heard that news from. The rumor only continued to stir the potand made them hate each other more.
