Chapter 1772 The Nine Trials

A bright halo suddenly appeared atop the mountain road, with it reaching down the road's end.

As soon as it appeared, drops of spiritual light rained down on the Spiritual Emperors below."Everyone, stay sharp! This is the first trial to see if you are qualified enough to truly enter the HolyHeaven Palace. Protect yourself with your spiritual power immediately! If you are touched by thespiritual light, the damage would be unimaginable! If you can't fight back, then just stay where youare." Being the great leader he was, Colton immediately reminded everyone from the front.

The Spiritual Emperors didn't dare to be careless. Following his orders, they all immediately releasedtheir spiritual power to protect themselves.

At first, they thought that this would be nothing but a joke. But the moment the spiritual light fellon them, their knees instantly buckled and their face became as pale as snow. It was as if the weightof the whole world was raining down on them. Several low-level Spiritual Emperors did not stand achance. Upon the first impact, they immediately spat out blood and were rendered immobile.However, when they stopped moving, the spiritual light also stopped falling down on them.

Several gruesome minutes passed before Colton led them out of the narrow passage and into abright scenery. The new place was filled with gorgeous mountains and pristine lakes. At the edge oftheir view, they saw a magnificent gate with steps behind it.

"Everyone present has passed the first test. For the second trial, you have to climb to the top of themountain. The entrance to the trial field is located there. Same as before, if you can't go on, youhave to stop where you are.”

"Chief Colton, there are only around a hundred steps, at most. I don't think it's hard to get there!"an arrogant middle-level Spiritual Emperor shouted from the crowd.

"Well, why don't you to have a try first?" Colton said with a playful smile.

The cocky Spiritual Emperor smiled back as if he already won the trial. Without a second thought, hejumped up and rushed through the gate in one breath. But when he was about to approach it, theground beneath him disappeared into thin air.

He refused to give up so easily. He still tried to force his way through, but the moment his feet fell,an invisible force pushed him back.

"Well..." The Spiritual Emperor looked frustrated and turned his head away in embarrassment.

"Let me give you a suggestion. You can't make your way through the gate with brute strength. Themore power you use, the more you'll be pushed back." Rocky saw through the second test at firstglance. In fact, he knew that it was the gate that mattered.

"You mean that if we use the least amount of strength possible, we'll pass through?" Eunice, whowas beside Rocky, asked.

"That's true. But it's easier said than done. You have to resist the power coming from the gate whilemaking sure you won't release that much power of your own. Only someone who can perfectlycontrol his spiritual power can easily do this task," Rocky said with certainty.

"To put it bluntly, the second trial is aimed to test the subtlety of your control over your spiritualpower." Carla also understood what he meant.

"Who else would like to have a try?" Colton turned around and asked.

"Let me have a try!" A hand shot out from the crowd. A confident high-level Spiritual Emperorconfidently volunteered.

When the Spiritual Emperor reached the gate, he immediately released his spiritual power to spreadout of his body. Instead of moving violently like the last one, he made his spiritual power flowgently like a stream.

Then he walked towards the gate slowly.

Without meeting any resistance, he passed through the gate unharmed and headed for the top ofthe stairs.

With this, the others were enlightened and knew what to do. Some middle-level Spiritual Emperorsalso tried to do the same.

Two hours later, all the middle-level Spiritual Emperors had passed along with half of the low-leveled ones.

By this time, Rocky had just gotten through the gate and was making his way to the top of themountain.

After walking more than ten steps of stairs, he felt a delicate figure lean against him. It was Eunice."Why are you so slow? I've been waiting for you!" She complained with a pouted face.

"What's up?" Rocky asked with a smile.

"I just want to talk about the Spiritual Divine Land with you..." Eunice replied.

"Have you ever entered it?" He asked again.

"No. Only middle-level Spiritual Emperors are allowed to enter the Spiritual Divine Land. With mystrength, of course, I haven't been there.” Eunice shook her head. "Although I haven't been there,I've consulted with the chief and some elders who have entered there before, and they have givenme a lot of advice."

"Well, then tell me more.” This piqued Rocky's interest.

She then told him everything she knew about the Spiritual Divine Land in detail.

According to her, the Spiritual Emperors would be randomly transported to the starting point of atrial once they set foot on the Spiritual Divine Land. Everyone would have a different starting pointwith a different task ahead.

After completing the first set of tests, then one would be transported to the starting point ofanother trial. If one chose to give up on the way, they would be directly transported out of the HolyHeaven Palace.

Eunice also mentioned that there were nine trials in total. To complete all in the Spiritual Divine Landwould take at least a month

Therefore, when a Spiritual Emperor of the Di Clan was qualified to enter the Spiritual Divine Land,they would spend months preparing to get ready since they would need to start all over again ifthey stopped midway.

However, in the history of the Di Clan, there was only one Spiritual Emperor at the peak whomanaged to complete all nine trials. He was the eighteenth chief, Jaiden, Colton's grandfather. Thelast time anyone saw him was when he resigned as chief of the clan.

At present, the elder who guarded the Holy Heaven Palace had passed eight trials and only failedone.

Ever since the Spiritual Divine Land was discovered by the Di Clan, rumors had been circulating thattreasures buried by the gods were hidden there. Only those who could complete all trials would beable to get ahold of them.

However, only Jaiden who had passed the nine trials knew whether the legend was true or not!

"In that case, the Spiritual Divine Land is indeed tough.” Rocky couldn't help but grow even morecurious when he heard this. Although he had already experienced countless adventures, this was thefirst time he had heard of such a strange legend.

But of course, everything made sense if the Holy Heaven Palace was really created by the gods.
