Chapter 1943 Rocky Escaped

Alex sighed with a forlorn air about her. She felt powerless in the face of Vivian's grief, and shedidn't know how to comfort her.

Just as the cloying silence became too much for them, a great splash suddenly erupted from thepool close to the crystal palace as a figure shot out. The greenish water spattered everywhere, andsome dissolved into green mist.

Hearing the noise, both Alex and Vivian immediately looked over, and their faces brightened with alook of joy.

The figure was none other than Rocky!

It turned out that before the crystal palace was completely sealed, Rocky arrived at the pool wherethe devil spirit had been staying. He figured that the pool had some kind of passage that ledoutside, so he took the plunge.

Just as Rocky expected, he soon found a hole under the pool, and the moment he swam out of thecrevice, the entire thing collapsed.

He swam along the passage, looking for the exit before he finally found it and came out.

At the flip side, the first things that Rocky sensed were Alex's and Vivian's auras, so he promptlyheaded in their direction.

Both of the women were overjoyed to see that he had survived after all.

"Is the devil spirit sealed?" Alex asked in a worried tone.

"Sort of..." Rocky had actually killed the devil spirit, but he didn't want to let her know, since it wouldbe too troublesome to explain

"I'm glad to hear that." Alex nodded and let out a relieved sigh

"We should replace a place to heal Vivian first.” The wounds on Vivian's body were still bleedingsluggishly. Rocky took one look at her, picked her up, and carried her in his arms.

Then, Alex summoned the Ice Phoenix, and the three of them flew off to the distance.

It didn't take long before the trio came upon a primeval forest. However, an invisible forceprohibited the Ice Phoenix from entering, and it could no longer fly with them.

So, they had no choice but to walk. They soon found a cave in the forest, which Rocky deemed safeenough to occupy for now.

"Alex, stay outside and guard the cave. I'll heal her first,” Rocky directed Alex, his face impassive andserious.

With a decisive nod, Alex did as he asked, and walked out of the cave.

He then laid Vivian on the nearest flat surface, checked the extent of her injuries, and planned outhow he should proceed. Her condition seemed worse than he initially thought. The devil spirit'spower was still in her body, and it had begun corroding her meridians.

"I have to force all the devil spirit's power out of your body. However, I'm afraid you may have toexpose yourself for me to do that,” Rocky told her bluntly. He had to use the Skill of Magic Needle,which meant he would have to inject needles all over Vivian's body, and that would cleanse herbody of the devil spirit's power.

After hearing this, Vivian didn't hesitate to take her clothes off, revealing her curvaceous and well-built figure.

"I understand. Please do what you have to." Vivian's voice sounded a little hesitant, which made thesituation all the more tempting.

However, Rocky didn't let that affect him. He would never do anything improper. At most, his eyeswould linger more than necessary, but he wouldn't force himself on her.

With the Skill of Magic Needle, Rocky concentrated on healing Vivian's wounds.

The night passed quickly as he toiled.

It took a lot of effort before Rocky finally forced out all the devil spirit's power in Vivian's body.However, it took a lot out of her, and she fainted momentarily.

After that, Rocky left her in the cave and found Alex, who was resting against a tree by the side ofthe cave. Her legs were crossed daintily, and her eyes were closed as if she were asleep.

But before he could say anything, she opened her eyes.

"How is she?" Alex asked worriedly.

"She should be fine now," Rocky answered as he sent a small, comforting smile her way.

"That's great! She wouldn't have gotten hurt if it weren't for me. You too! You almost died becauseof me!" Alex couldn't help but feel guilty, knowing that her fusion with the deity spirit in the crystalstatue had freed the suppressed devil spirit that had hurt her friends.

"Don’t worry about it. Fate works in mysterious ways. I'm sure that even if things had gonedifferently, that devil spirit would have found another way out. Anyway, it ended well enough. Thedevil spirit has now been put to rest. You also managed to fuse with the deity spirit, and that wasworth the trouble we had,” Rocky comforted her at once.

"I don't know how to thank you, really. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have such an exhilaratingadventure,” Alex uttered with sincerity.

"Ha-ha! Don't sweat it. I'll be collecting that debt soon!" Rocky teased.

"What are you two planning to do after this?" Alex asked after a few moments.

"Well, we still have something important to do, so we'll get right on that. As for you, I think you'dbetter meet the spirit warriors of the Wankong Clan first!" Rocky answered sensibly.

"Can't I come with you?" Alex whined tearfully upon hearing his words.

"You can't. It's too dangerous to stay with us.” Of course, Rocky felt that she shouldn't risk herself inthat way.

"But Vivian is still recuperating! She might take a while to recover, and you have to complete thetask. I can help take care of her,” Alex insisted, as she had already made up her mind.

After seeing Alex's resolve, Rocky fell silent and thought more about their situation. She had a point.Vivian's injuries would take at least ten days up to half a month to recover, and he couldn't leave heralone and vulnerable while he went to complete the task at the snow peak. Alex's presence wouldsolve that dilemma, and he could complete the task alone as soon as he arrived at the snow peak."Okay. You can follow us and take care of her for me.” Rocky finally agreed.

"Yes! That sounds great!" Alex's face brightened with happiness.

"By the way, since your strength has reached the peak of the Emperor Realm, the cultivation methodyou cultivated before is no longer suitable for you. Instead, you can use the Shura Realm'scultivation method now," Rocky continued.

"Really?" Alex looked astonished. It turned out that she had skipped an entire realm.

"Of course! Why would I lie to you?" Rocky reassured her with a smile. "What's the nature of yourspiritual root?”

"It's water," Alex responded.

"Oh, wait a minute.” After excusing himself, Rocky entered the palace with his mind. Since thespiritual race didn't have the Shura Realm’s cultivation method, he simply chose the WaterCultivation Method that had long been lost by the Shura Race. Once, it served as one of the Shura Race's peerlesscultivation methods, but when they degenerated, they lost the ability to cultivate this spiritualmethod. Thus, it was lost to the past.

The next morning, Vivian's eyes finally opened. Her glance landed on Rocky, who had his eyesclosed in his sleep, and the sight instantly lit her beautiful eyes with a pleased but inscrutableexpression.
