Chapter 1945 The God-killing Sword

The Lingji Clan had already traveled deep into the valley. However, on the fourth day, anunexpected obstacle kept them from advancing. A group of well-trained demonic spiritual beastshad encircled them silently, moving like a well-trained army.

They fought the ferocious beasts for an entire day, and the Lingji Clan had suffered significantlosses. The dead and the injured kept piling up.

In the Lingji Clan's camp

Ruth and the Spiritual Emperors had gathered in her tent to discuss what they could do about thematter.

"Elder Ruth, I'm afraid we can't go on like this. Four of our Spiritual Kings have either died or gotseriously injured today. We should withdraw for now!" urged one of the Lingji Clan's SpiritualEmperors, who looked tremendously worried.

The other Spiritual Emperors nodded in agreement. After all, they were well aware of the danger ofthe Ethereal Valley, and they believed that if the team's overall strength weakened due to thisaltercation, they would be in greater danger.

Ruth thought about it for a while, her eyes narrowing as she deliberated. Indeed, they had beenmarching for so long. If they returned now, all their previous sacrifices and efforts would be in vain.Moreover, the Lingji Clan hadn't gained much in this trip to the Ethereal Valley. The team she hadled was annihilated in the crystal palace, leaving only her and several Spiritual Emperors. At this rate,their expedition in the Ethereal Valley would be worthless, especially if they didn't gain moretreasures.

"I need to think about this some more. You can leave now," Ruth informed the rest with a wave ofher hand. She needed to think this through.

Assenting to her request, the Spiritual Emperors left Ruth's tent.

Rocky and Vivian were in the Lingji Clan's camp at this time, and they saw the Spiritual Emperorsstaggering out of Ruth's tent. They couldn't help but exchange knowing glances.

"It seems that the death of the spirit warriors in the crystal palace has greatly affected the LingjiClan. Otherwise, with their overall strength, they could have at least reached the foot of the snowmountain,” Rocky noted.

"Then it's time for us to act. My wounds have mostly healed, so I don't think I'll hold you back,"Vivian declared passionately. She had stayed with the Lingji Clan for the past few days, resting andhealing. Rocky had also helped her heal her wounds every day, and because of that, she recoveredmuch faster than she had expected.

"The Lingji Clan has been a great help to us these days. Even if we have to leave now, we should atleast do something to repay their kindness!" Rocky said with a smile.

"What do you think we should do?" Vivian asked. She knew that Rocky must have something on hismind.

"It's getting dark, and I'm sure you have a lot of pent-up energy from the past few days. How aboutwe replace a place to exercise our muscles and bones once it's dark? After I absorbed the devil spirit'spower, the fighting energy at the Mystery Stage advanced to the Earth Stage as well. Maybe we cango somewhere and test it out,” Rocky suggested with a wicked glint in his eyes.

"That sounds great!” An enthusiastic smile flashed across Vivian's face. Of course, she knew what hemeant.

It didn't take long for the sun to go down, and the entire valley soon fell into darkness.

Scattered bonfires rose inside the Lingji Clan's camp, and all the clan's spirit warriors retired to theirtents and rested after the long and tiring day.

At this point, two black shadows stealthily left the camp, heading in one direction.

The next morning, Ruth gathered all the Spiritual Emperors of the Lingji Clan again.

"I thought about it last night. As you know, our team has suffered a lot of serious casualties. If weforce ourselves to pass through the valley again, I'm afraid it might compromise our vital energy,and we might end up losing more than we have gained. Thus, I have decided we should go back theway we came. We can pass the time exploring more unknown areas for now, and who knows?Maybe we can get something before we leave!"

Ruth explained to the others.

The other Spiritual Emperors nodded readily, satisfied with her decision.

At this moment, a Spiritual King came in a hurry.

"Elder Ruth, someone slaughtered the group of demonic spiritual beasts that blocked our wayyesterday!" she recounted briefly.

The shock left Ruth and the Spiritual Emperors speechless when they heard this. Who killed all thosedemonic spiritual beasts? Could it be warriors from other clans?

However, if even the Lingji Clan wasn't strong enough to accomplish such a feat, how could thoseteams do that? They were stronger than any of them.

"Elder Ruth..." At this time, two more Spiritual Kings rushed into the camp.

"What happened this time?" Ruth turned to the two newcomers.

"The two Spiritual Kings from the Wankong Clan have disappeared. They left a note, along withthese seemingly powerful treasures,” answered one of the Spiritual Kings promptly.

The other Spiritual King nodded as she showed them the handful of treasures she was carrying.There were seven to eight treasures in her hands, including a divine treasure.

Seeing this, the Spiritual Emperors were all dumbfounded. These treasures were invaluable for thespiritual race, and not one of them had treasures as valuable as these.

Ruth took the note in her hands and began to read. It said, "Thank you for taking care of us in thepast few days. As a sign of our gratitude, I'll be leaving two surprises for you, Elder Ruth. I hope theLingji Clan will build a good relationship with the Wankong Clan in the future. Thank you in advance.Rookie."

After reading it, Ruth couldn't help but sigh. "I didn't expect to owe them one more favor. Nowonder that guy was able to leave the crystal palace unscathed. The Wankong Clan sure has anabundance of hidden talents!"

"Elder Ruth, what's going on?" a Spiritual Emperor asked when it appeared that Ruth wasn't inclinedto talk.

"Okay, listen up! If you replace anything of note in the following days, make sure that you share it withthe Wankong Clan. Do you understand?" Elder Ruth instructed the others

However, this only confused the Spiritual Emperors more. They had no idea what Rocky and Vivianhad done, so they didn't know why they should share their harvest with the Wankong Clan. Butsince this was Ruth's wish, they could do nothing but obey.

At this time, Rocky and Vivian had already left the Lingji Clan's camp. They had gone past the valleyas well and were getting closer and closer to the snow mountain.

Unfortunately, the demonic spiritual beasts ran rampant in this area, and most of them werestronger than a medium-stage Spiritual Emperor. They wouldn't make progress if they weren'tpowerful enough to face these beasts.

Finally, the two of them arrived at the foot of the snow mountain. They were exhausted, but theyhad passed all the tests and took down the ferocious beasts.

The road leading to the snow mountain was harsh and unforgiving, covered in slippery, thick snow.The Ethereal Valley was mostly a no-flying zone, and so was the snow mountain. Therefore, the twoof them had no choice but to walk all the way up. They also had to keep their guard up in case anybird-like demonic spiritual beasts swooped down on them.

Two days passed in the blink of an eye.

Rocky and Vivian finally reached the snow mountain's peak.

But to their surprise, the peak appeared completely empty, and the entrance to the Holy-Evil Worldwas not where they expected it to be. There wasn't even a trace of it.

"Hey, did you make a mistake? The entrance must be somewhere else," Vivian asked Rocky as hereyes swept around them in confusion.

"That's impossible. I saw the devil spirit's memory, and it can't be wrong. The entrance to the Holy-Evil World is here somewhere..." Rocky insisted. He, too, felt that something was off, but he believedthat memory was accurate.

"Maybe the entrance has been concealed. That's why we can't replace it!" Vivian exclaimed. It seemedthat her vast experiences had truly made her wise.

"That's possible.” Rocky nodded in agreement. However, it was strange that he and Vivian stillcouldn't replace the concealment with their strength. That indicated it wasn't an ordinary cover-up. Andif that were the case, the only way to break this cover-up was to use the God-killing Sword.
