Rebirth of the Prime Dragon Master
Chapter 226 The Army Flag Contest

"The Army Flag Contest is held every month at the base camp. Every Frontline Commander of ourCrimson Dragon Group must enter. But I just received a message reporting a problem on the frontline, and you know I have to go there at once. I can't possibly take part in the Army Flag Contestagain. Someone else should participate on behalf of the northeast military camp," Marin explainedpromptly.

"Why won't you just send out the two Deputy Commanders? They can enter the contest instead,”Rocky retorted and rolled his eyes. Just as he had expected, Marin wanted him to join the Army FlagContest for political purposes. But Rocky was busy building his laboratory, and he wasn't willing towaste his time on the contest.

"Both Deputy Commanders have important tasks at hand. Anyway, all you have to do is make apublic appearance. Your sole mission is to make the number of participants grow. And when theArmy Flag Contest begins, you just have to follow the other Frontline Commanders and do whatthey do. It doesn't really matter if you lose the contest. I've already won ten times in a row for thenortheast military camp. So it doesn't matter if we lose the Army Flag Contest this time,” Marinproudly explained.

"Can I decline?" Rocky asked, folding his arms across his chest. He did not want to take part in theArmy Flag Contest. At the thought of meeting Isis at the base camp, Rocky's stomach filled withbutterflies, and his chest pounded. He did not want to mess with Isis again. He had sworn it fromthe depths of his heart. After all, he was fully aware that Isis was a defiant woman.

"This is an order! Unless you want to be transferred to the kitchen and do chores, I suggest youfollow,” Marin threatened as she stared Rocky down. She was determined to get what she wanted, and she would get it no matter what.

'What a ruthless woman!" Rocky thought to himself. “But she is a Commander and I am only abreeder. I have no choice but to follow her command.’ His face contorted, and his heart filled withanger, and dismay. He was helpless against Marin's authority.

"You haven't seen Sue in a long time, correct? You can take this chance to visit her.” And with that,Marin tossed Rocky her token.

"I am grateful for your kindness,” Rocky said in a monotone voice. His lips curled as he caught thetoken, but his hands clenched into fists. It was as if he and Marin were enemies in their previouslives. Why else would this formidable woman make so much trouble for him?

"Give my regards to my cousin when you meet her. And please, keep your attitude in check. I won'tblame you, but I would advise you to mind your manners when you meet the Commander in Chief.Otherwise, if ever you were caught in some terrible act, it would be beyond my capability to helpyou," Marin warned.

Rocky didn't answer. He turned and walked away, leaving Marin irritated.

Rocky returned to the Ghost Village. As he prepared to leave for Evian City, he remembered hispromise to Sue. He was to bring Rubygon to her the next time he would come to the base camp.Rubygon squirmed and struggled to jump out of Rocky's arms as he carried it to the carriage. Uriahpatted its head, asking it to be obedient. Compared to Uriah, Rubygon was still rough anduntrained. The cub was very hesitant to leave.

'It looks like Rubygon needs to be tamed, * Rocky thought to himself. The reluctance was written allover Rubygon's face as it tried to wriggle its way out of Rocky's grasp. Rocky just smiled wryly andshook his head. Rubygon was still young, but it was high time he was trained. Rocky made a mentalnote to himself that he would train Rubygon in his spare time. He hoped that one day Rubygonwould turn out to be another one of his high-grade spirit-manipulated beasts.

But of course, the journey to reach that goal was no small feat. Rocky already had Uriah, and itmeant that he could no longer use the same spiritual power to control Rubygon. He had to replace newand equally stimulating approaches to tame the young beast.

Despite this initial plan, Rocky was still uncertain whether he could successfully tame Rubygon. Theyoung beast was very energetic, and it would be hard to keep that energy in check.

Seated in the horse-drawn carriage, Rocky rode out of Ghost Village and headed for Evian City at afull gallop. The carriage jolted at the speed, but Rocky kept the pace. About two hours later, theyarrived at the base camp of the Crimson Dragon Group. The carriage stopped near the entrance ofthe base. After securing the reigns to a nearby tree, Rocky dismounted Rubygon from the carriage. With the token Marin had given him resting in his hand, Rocky walked into the base. The site of theCrimson Dragon Army greeted them

"Now, where can I replace the venue for the Army Flag Contest? Marin didn't give me clearinstructions,” Rocky mumbled to himself as he walked through the gates. He realized that Marinhadn't given him enough information on how to enter the Army Flag Contest, and he was confusedas to where he would go to register. But he did not let it faze him. He decided to visit Sue first.Rocky strode towards the Isis Pavilion with Rubygon in tow.

When they arrived at the Isis Pavilion, the naughty Rubygon seemed to have smelled somethingunusual. Its nose twitched as it sniffed the air, and suddenly ran into the Isis Pavilion.

A few seconds passed, and a piercing scream was heard from the inside. Rocky dashed inside, fearing Rubygon had caused trouble, but he didn't need to search far for the cub. He foundRubygon in a corner, excitedly licking Sue's face as she struggled to hold it.

"You naughty little pervert!" Rocky exclaimed as he pulled Rubygon off of Sue. He settled the beaston the floor. "Are you alright?" Rocky's eyebrows furrowed as he checked Sue for scratches.

"Oh, I'm fine. I was just a little surprised. I did not expect Rubygon to grow into such a big beast.”Sue dusted herself off as she spoke, and stared at the wolf-sized Rubygon.

"If I had known it would make trouble, I would have left it at home," Rocky laughed.

"No, why would you leave it alone at home?" Sue pouted. She walked up to Rubygon, croucheddown and stroked its head. Rubygon yapped delightedly and leaned closer to her hand.

"It seemed to have recognized your scent from a few feet away,” Rocky said as he watched themplay. He had not expected Rubygon to still recognize Sue by the sense of smell alone. There was nodoubt the young beast had promising abilities.

"Of course it would. I had spent more time accompanying Rubygon than you did back then,” Suebeamed at Rocky as she continued to pet the cub's fur. Her clear eyes clouded for a moment as shestared blankly into Rubygon's face. She seemed to have remembered something.

"I came here with a mission, and I can't take Rubygon with me. Could you please take care of it forthe time being?" Rocky requested.

"Very well," Sue agreed with delight. She could play with Rubygon once again. Rubygon seemed tosense her excitement and it pranced around the two.

Nodding his thanks to Sue, Rocky turned and stepped out of the Isis Pavilion. He planned on askingpeople for information about the Army Flag Contest when he noticed a familiar, petite figure. Shewas leading a couple of female guards, and they were walking towards him.

"What a coincidence!” Rocky sighed in dismay. He had tried to avoid her ever since he stepped footin the base, but it was just his luck to bump into her.

This petite woman was none other than Isis.

Isis had seen Rocky even before he noticed her. She wasn't surprised to see him walking out of theIsis Pavilion. She assumed that he had just paid Sue a visit. A memory popped into Isis's head. Thatday when they were in the Isis Pavilion... her heart pounded with excitement, and she was flusteredby the memory. She tried to hide her embarrassment from Rocky.

Accepting the circumstance he was in, Rocky steeled his heart and walked up to Isis to say hello. Thefemale guards behind Isis did not know him however, so they dashed forward and stopped Rockymidway to protect their leader.

"Let him pass,” Isis ordered. "He is a friend. Stand by, all of you."

The guards were surprised. It was the first time Isis acknowledged her association with a man, letalone initiate it. They exchanged doubtful glances, but proceeded to obey her orders withoutquestion.

"Commander Marin told me to greet you on her behalf," Rocky informed Isis.

"And where is she?" The Army Flag Contest will commence today. She should have entered thecompetition in compliance with the rules,” Isis asked with authority in her voice.
