Rebirth of the Prime Dragon Master -
Chapter 392 The Superior
"Deputy Commander in Chief,” At this very moment, Marin along with Uriah, who was lustering inflames, appeared before Isis and others.
The emergence of Uriah, the giant beast startled the five hundred soldiers around causing a bustle, who started to whisper about Uriah with an expression of amazement. Those ordinary soldiersalways respected the spirit manipulator who possessed the spirit-manipulated beast. Explicitly, Uriahwho was quite powerful and fierce stood out from other spirit-manipulated beasts. They pitiedthemselves, for being born without the gift of a spirit manipulator and neither could they own onespirit-manipulated beast. Now all they could do was to gaze at the magnanimity of the spirit-manipulated beast.
The glimpse of Uriah made Dunn reminisce about the last match that Rocky won, where there werecascades of the unexpected events of upgrading and rare mutation, resulting in super evolution ofthe spirit-manipulated beast. And at that time, the mutated Uriah was much more powerful andshowed quite excellent and astonishing qualification than his spirit-manipulated beast, Razor-clawWolf Bear which had already reached the third grade of three stars. Though Dunn wasn't sure aboutUriah being a spiritual beast, he was quite sure about its extreme rarity, as it was unusual that itcould use Fire.
The fact that Marin showed up with Rocky's spirit-manipulated beast surprised Isis. She blinked alittle and asked, "Where have you been? Why are you with Rocky's spirit-manipulated beast?""Wasn't that obvious to you?" Marin turned in the direction from where she came and gazedadmiringly at the flames scattered all over the pass, as their masterpiece work. In fact, Marin didn'tdo that by herself. All she did was point out the destinations and order Uriah to light a little fire onit, which was quite an easy task.
"It is Rocky! Only he could come up with such strange method. But I had never seen any tacticaldeployment like that one before.” Isis recalled all the tactical deployment she learned, and failed toreplace one similar to that, as at most cases that kind of deployment could not be done withoutenough soldiers. But in fact, Rocky left only five hundred soldiers. So, she could not perceive whatRocky was doing.
"Of course, only an arrogant guy could come up with a strange idea like that." Marin remarkedunhappily and then complained, "Why do we have to follow his instruction, Deputy Commander inChief? We could face this situation on our own.”
But a trace of vagueness lingered on those words. Because she knew it would be impossible forthem to protect the pass without a useful strategy as they were left with no more than fourthousand soldiers. Back then, Isis was busy in making the retreating plan. With Rocky's arrival, hehad altered the situation, bringing hope to the Crimson Dragon Army. It was against Marin'spersonality to depend on others for the protection of the pass. She could never admit this andwould have rather chosen to die at the war field than hiding behind others. Moreover, she neverhad a liking for that guy.
"I'm not meant to. Actually, I know how much you hate him and I hate him much more, especiallyhis lack of respect for the disciplines and leisure personality. He is a cold natured guy with manyfaces. Nobody would adore the person of that kind!" Isis shrugged. She didn't want to rely onRocky, either. It was not her style. "But he came alone under the order of my father. He must beconfident that he can protect the pass well for us. So, if we were to defend the Wild Heaven Pass, the only way now is to rely on him!"
Isis and Marin shared the same personality in some aspects. They had never relied on anybody andalways acted independently. In defending the Wild Heaven Pass, they had brought in their bestefforts consistently for such a long time or that would have lost if the commander still beingCommander Cheng. Also, Commander Cheng was badly injured while combating the two rivalcommanders. Due to this he was sent back to Evian City, after which Isis took over his position.Commander Cheng was never a weak one. He was a powerful and strong warrior. However, evenwith his strong abilities he couldn't sustain the serious damages inflicted upon him. So, one couldimagine the ferocity of attacks Isis had encountered those days.
The Wild Heaven Pass was so strategically vital to her that she would do anything to defend it. Butnow she had gone into a dead end where she wouldn't be successful in fooling her enemies withthe same old strategies. There could only be a simple result if she continued to be her own.
And that result was definitely of no good. She was imminent that it would be impossible to keep thepass without the assistance of a foreign aid. Now that Rocky was confident enough, it wasimpossible for her to ignore him and face the consequences.
She had to struggle a lot with herself before making a decision to depend on Rocky once again. Infact, she was exemplary in her own ways, as she was brilliant and gifted which made her superioramong people of the same age. Therefore, she had an extraordinary sense of pride and superioritybecause there were few people of the same age on the Wild Spirit Land better than her.
But Rocky had gradually worn that sense of pride and superiority away, about which she had noidea. In her thoughts, Rocky was born different with specific qualities, gifts and logic, totallydifferent from others and was extremely hard to understand. In general, he was just a freak!
She in all her senses, would refuse to depend on a freak of his kind to win the war. She also hadimmense hatred deeper than anybody else on the earth towards him. But now, in this criticaljuncture, she being the Deputy Commander in Chief of the Crimson Dragon Group, was compelledto rely on a smart arse like Rocky. And doing this would make it extremely difficult for her to faceher fellow soldiers in the camp!
Being a qualified commander of her stature, she had a clear assessment of the whole situation.Similar to the war of the Rough slope, what mattered most at present was the defence of the WildHeaven Pass. She had no second thoughts on keeping her pride secondary.
In people's eyes, she treated Rocky differently and even favored him. However, being the personRocky was, he deserved that.
She had always made sure that there were no personal feelings involved in those decisions she hadmade. All she had done was in the interest of the Crimson Dragon Group or at least those were herbeliefs.
