With her eyes shifting to her father, Isis nodded in agreement and said, "Okay, I get it." Summoningher Silver Wind, she walked as graceful as she could out of the Commander in Chief's camp and flewtowards the Hippo Land.

Meanwhile, the Timber Deity Empire retreated from the war just two days ago. Taking advantage ofit, the Crimson Dragon Army, under Rocky's command, took the camp site of the Hippo Land.

It was customary that after every major battle, especially a victorious one, that the soldiers wouldtake a rest. In this way, they could recuperate better and prepare themselves for the next war thatthey would face. And right at that time, the military camp was bustling with happy and energeticsoldiers celebrating their victory.

But in every busy occasion, there would always be some people who would try and sneak away fromthe over-crowded scene to get some private moments of his own. Leading the Crimson DragonArmy to recapture the Hippo Land, Rocky was no doubt the key to the victory of this battle. He wasthe man of the hour.

Sitting cross-legged on a big stone, he closely observed the circulation of the spiritual power insidehis body. But all of a sudden, he was taken aback by what he found inside his body since it was newto him and he had not noticed that before. Having a conversation with Sabina not too long ago, hewould like to check the situation of the evil spiritual power inside his body. And that was why hewanted, to get some private time and sneaking some place far from the crowd. And from hisobservation, he found that the evil spiritual power was stronger than ever, blooming like the flamethat was being fanned out.

Confused, Rocky wanted to know the reason behind the whole thing. He wanted to figure out thereason for the sudden boost of his evil spiritual power. There was an instance where he thought thatit could have something to do with the accident that happened just yesterday. It could have beenthe large sum of evil power that occupied his body, the same evil power that overflew from Marcia'sseal that she put on him to get it under control. Even though Sabina suppressed it, it only becamestronger as the residual evil spiritual power which escaped the repression combined with the evilspiritual power that was left in his body from the previous time. And all that made sense to him.The evil spiritual power in his body which was from last time had already surpassed a royal spiritmanipulator of the first grade of the Heavenly Stage. But sadly, it had not yet reached the secondgrade of the Heavenly Stage. Yet, it was kind of odd that he was still not able to break through eventhough the evil spiritual power in his body shot up once again. Stuck at the first grade of theHeavenly Stage, Rocky was rendered confused.

During his previous stages of cultivation, he was automatically elevated whenever the requiredamount of spiritual power was accumulated in his body, which was the case in both the Mortal andthe Earthly Stage. However, when it came to the Heavenly Stage, there was no sign of elevation nomatter how strong his spiritual power had become.

'I guess that I have to consult to someone who is well-versed about the elevation of every stage ofthe cultivation.’ Scanning his mind for the right person to talk to, Rocky suddenly saw Sabina'selegant but cold image in his head. He tried to deny it at some point because he knew that shewould get to the bottom of everything to acquire the information on why he asked those kinds ofquestion. On top of that, he thought that her identity was quite dubious and sketchy. Under onecritical moment, she was able to seal the evil spiritual power that took control of his consciousness.With that being said, he was definitely sure that Sabina employed some special means to rein in thesavage evil spiritual power. Although he could not quite figure out what method Sabina used tohelp him, he could still feel that there was something quite odd about her and her actions as soonas he saw her. With that, he had to be cautious around her when dealing with her.

“That girl knows too many things about me. I need to be careful!” Staring blankly into the air, Rockychurned over his mind for any other options. This time, it was Marin whom he had called to mind.Although she was also a spirit manipulator at the first grade of the Heavenly Stage, she had receivedthe royal spirit manipulator's training ever since she was a little girl. With that being said, he wassure that she should be well-versed of the matter.

Rising up from his seat, he jumped down from the stone and was ready to go back to the camp site.Meanwhile, Rocky saw Marin right after he arrived at the camp site. She led a group of soldiers totransfer the grain and other supplies from the camp on the small slope to the camp site."Commander Marin..." Rocky approached and greeted Marin with a smiling face.

But Marin turned her head away in order to avoid making any eye contact with Rocky, turning herface serious at the sight of him.

Confused, Rocky then thought, “What is going on with her? I don't think that I have offended her inany way."

Rocky had no idea why she gave him the cold shoulder, but the more important fact was that hehad a very important thing to ask her. So, he had to approach her in a humble manner, "Well done,Commander Marin! You must have been working so hard to arrange the transportation of the grainsand supplies.”

"So, what's up? Since when have you ever become so considerate?” Marin wondered and glared atthe sight of the overly eager Rocky.

"Well, actually, there is something that I want to consult with you, Commander Marin,” Rocky said ina serious tone.

"Why? I really don't believe that there is something that your honored Elite Commander would wantto consult with me. By doing so, you are flattering this very humble Commander. Aren't youalmighty about everything? Hmm... How about you think it through on your own. I wouldn't twinklemy eye if you have to get stuck in the eternal perplexity!" Marin retorted in the most unreasonablemanner as if throwing a tantrum. In fact, she was so infuriated that she even wanted to tie him up sothat she could thrash him and vent her anger over the bowl of gruel she took the time and care tocook!

To be honest, she could not figure out the reason why she actually took care of Rocky for a wholenight. And on top of that, she cooked a pot of gruel for him in person in the morning. Even sheherself thought that such a thing was totally beyond her imagination. It was already hard enoughfor her to convince herself to accept her irrational behavior. What pissed her off was that the guyran away when she brought it to him, making her feel that her care was not appreciated at all.Feeling hurt and angry, she recalled the scene with a heavy heart. And that was why she was socompletely ignorant of Rocky's presence that she even walked past him after she ordered the groupof soldiers behind her to do their jobs.

With this, Rocky could only force a smile as he was sent off with a flea in his ear. He then thought,“She was good and kind to me this morning as if she was a sweet companion or a loving mother. Ifthat is the case, then why is she acting like a completely different person now? It is as if she is goingall out to work against me."

Rocky thought to himself as he was completely perplexed. He had not any clue on what happenedto Marin at all.

"Commander Bai, what have you done to offend Commander Marin?" Dunn, who happened to runinto the dramatic fight between them, approached at that moment as he asked with an honestsmile.

"How do you think I'm supposed to know that?" Rocky frowned slightly as he replied.

"We all know that Commander Marin took great care about you the whole night yesterday. Then,why does she suddenly treat you as an enemy? Is that possible that you have done something tooffend her? But, even though Commander Marin is never outdone by any men in the battlefield, sheis after all, is still a girl. Don't all girls want to be spoiled? Well, all people do, but, don't you thinkso?" Dunn suggested as if he was good at communicating with girls.

"I think it is better if I stay away from her,” Rocky said as he did not want to be brushed off again."Ah, right! I heard from the old military cook that Commander Marin cooked a bow! of gruel thismorning. Who do you think she cooked it for? The old cook has been under Commander Marin’scommand for at least two years. He said it was the very first time for him to see Commander Marincook in person. Do you think Commander Marin was being a bit weird?" Dunn told the storymeaningfully to Rocky as he suddenly recalled the anecdote.

"Gruel?" Rocky immediately called to mind what happened this morning as he heard Dunn'saccount of the anecdote. He remembered that Marin seemed to say that she would bring the gruelfor him this morning. But he was thinking other things at that time and left directly without payingattention to what she said. In that case, was that gruel specially cooked for him?

Suddenly, it all made sense! Rocky could finally figure out the reason why Commander Marin was soangry at him. The culprit was the bowl of gruel!

But he knew that it was better for the doer to undo what he had done. Her anger was caused by hisnegligence of her considerate care. On top of that, Marin took care of him for the entire night, andit would be too rude to turn his back to her without even saying thank you to her.

"I never thought of it that way. Thank you, dude!" Rocky reached out to Dunn as he tapped him onthe shoulder. He would probably still remain in confusion if he were not reminded by Dunn. Rockyrushed after Marin's direction after he expressed his gratefulness to Dunn.

An insidious smile then etched on his lip as Dunn watched Rocky's back recede with his shadow.
