Rebirth of the Prime Dragon Master
Chapter 580 Pretty Cherished

Rocky held Woods tightly, as he flew to a ten-meter-high tower not far from the base camp. Fromthere, they could see the base camp that was overrun with flames and people.

"What's going on?" Woods stared in shock at the chaotic scene in front of them.

"The whole base camp is now surrounded by the guards of Evian City," Rocky explained calmly.Woods hungrily took in the noise of the commotion, the smoke, and flames that almost reachedwhere they stood.

"What?" Woods immediately shook his head in denial and said, "That's impossible! Haven't the cityguards already withdrawn from Evian City? I also gave the order to the whole city after I entered. Ihaven't seen any traces of the city guards. Where did the rest come from?"

"If you had realized where they were coming from, all my plans would have been in vain." Thecorner of Rocky's mouth twitched as if he was hiding a smirk.

"Your plan...” Woods froze for a moment, but he quickly recovered and said, "Have you beensecretly commanding the garrison of Evian City since the beginning?”

"No. Evian City had almost fallen by the time I arrived. Fortunately, your men had retreated bynightfall. Otherwise, I couldn't have saved the city,” Rocky said with a shake of his head.

"You were the one who attacked our army at that time!” Woods suddenly exclaimed. He stood upstraighter, as he remembered the events from that time.

Rocky tilted his head in assent but otherwise stayed quiet.

"But how did you hide the guards of Evian City?" Woods asked once again. He couldn't figure outhow Rocky made the guards of Evian City disappear and re-appear under the watchful eyes of thepeople. They even ambushed the base camp!

"The only solution is to dig a few underground tunnels under Evian City." Rocky finally offered witha small hidden smile. He was quite amused to see Woods stunned by his tactics.

"Tunnels? How could the guards dig a tunnel that can accommodate thousands of people in such ashort time?" Woods marveled at the tactic Rocky had employed. No ordinary person would havethought of such a thing

"I have my ways! Now, we're going to watch a good show. Your men won't come after us soquickly," Rocky said confidently. He put away the Frozen Wind Dagger and immediately let go ofWoods.

Meanwhile, Woods immediately relaxed when Rocky let him go. He was not stupid enough to try toescape, so instead, he settled down to watch. He knew that the city garrison of Evian City attackingthe base camp without warning would make the Timber Deity Army be caught off guard.

"Even if the guards can destroy the Timber Deity Army in the base camp, don't forget that there areten thousand soldiers of Timber Deity Empire in the south and north gates. The forces of thisstronghold are as strong as the guards of Evian City. No matter how badly they are attacked, theywill not go down as fast as you expect them to. They will definitely cause a great loss to the guardsof Evian City,” Woods stated fearlessly. It did not matter that Rocky had him trapped. He kept hiscalm demeanor because he had full confidence in his men.

"That's true. Even if all the forces of the Timber Deity Empire in the base camp were wiped out, theguards of Evian City would definitely lose some forces, and at least half of them would be killedbefore the night is over. I estimate that only three or four thousand men will survive, and that is anoptimistic estimate. The remaining army of Evian City was truly unable to fight against more thanten thousand soldiers of the Timber Deity Empire. The forces of the Timber Deity Empire mayoutnumber the imperial guards, but that does not mean they will automatically beat the imperialguards. From ancient times to the present, the weak had won many wars. Therefore, even if there isonly one soldier left, I will try to protect Evian City." Rocky stared intently at Woods. So muchsincerity shone on Rocky's expression that Woods could not help but laugh.

"Ha-ha!" Woods clapped his hands, as his boisterous laughter echoed in the tower. "You are trulycourageous and dedicated. I'm impressed by you!"

"That is why I advise you to withdraw your army.” Rocky's jaw ticked in irritation. He was deadlyserious, and he did not need this man's admiration, only his surrender. Despite how much hewanted it though, he was sure that it was not going to be easy for Woods to withdraw.

"I will not withdraw the army. It is of great importance that we take down Evian City. I will do mybest to do it, even if I have to go against you." Woods met Rocky's intense stare with a glare of hisown. He needed to get his point across that nothing short of victory would send his troops home."How about I'll kill you instead? If you die, I am sure that the army of the Timber Deity Empire willretreat without a fight." Rocky's eyes turned cold.

"Even if something bad happens to me, there will be other commanders to replace me. They willcontinue to lead the army of the Timber Deity Empire until we capture the city," Woods answeredwith no hesitation.

"Really? Well, at the very least, the death of the prince should have an impact on the morale of theTimber Deity Empire. That would be enough.” Rocky sneered threateningly at Woods.

"If you want to, you are free to do so. However, if my death stimulated the morale of the army ofthe Timber Deity Empire instead, and motivated them to fight harder against the guards of EvianCity, it would do harm to you,” Woods said fearlessly.

"Do you think I won't do it? Do you think I cannot kill you right now?" said Rocky. It never occurredto Rocky that Woods was so unafraid of death.

"If you really wanted to kill me, you could have killed me earlier in the hall, which would shake themilitary of the Timber Deity Empire easily. But instead, you spent so much effort to abduct me. Wehave spoken at length, and until now, I cannot sense any trace of murderous intent from you. I'msure that you won't kill me." It seemed that Woods could see right through Rocky's plans.

"I can't hide anything from you, can I? I don't intend to kill you, because your sister will surely not letme go if I kill you. I am not stupid enough to provoke a master of the Divine Stage for the sake ofthe Crimson Dragon Group," Rocky said bluntly. He could imagine what would happen if he killedWoods. He would become an enemy of the entire Timber Deity Empire. Moreover, Woods' eldersister was a master of the Divine Stage, and she was not someone to be trifled with.

"Lance is one of the Three Great Generals of the Holy Dragon Empire, but he didn't know the valueof a genius like you. You are wasted in the logistic camp. However, I didn’t expect you to help theCrimson Dragon Army again. I would have been careful if I knew you were my opponent,” Woodssighed dejectedly. He had been too careless this time. He had mistakenly believed that Rocky wouldnot help the Crimson Dragon Army anymore, but it turned out that Rocky still made a move.

"As I said, I didn't do this for the Crimson Dragon Army," replied Rocky calmly.

"It does not matter why you made your move. The fact is that if you guard Evian City, it is equivalentto siding with the Crimson Dragon Army. Even if you did not do it for them, in the end, you stillhelped the Crimson Dragon Army," Woods confessed.

"Well, this is the last time," Rocky said, shrugging.
