"What? The fight in front of the Witch Palace?” Lena asked. Doubt was evident in her tone when sheresponded after hearing those words.

"So, you really have no idea of what happened before. Maybe I can enlighten you, back then...” Theemperor then told Lena the whole story. At that time, in order to see her, Basil had to recklesslybreak into the Witch Palace. He even fought fiercely with a lot of royal guards at the Heavenly Stage.There was also an instance where he made the power of the Holy Dragon Bead lose control, and healmost became a devil.

After Lena heard that, shock and disbelief were displayed on her face. What she could not acceptwas that she did not know all the truth until a year later. A year ago, Alston had only told her thatBasil had pleaded guilty and was willing to be punished and leave the Palace City. However, whatshe didn't know was that to see her, Basil had risked his life and tried to break into the Witch Palace."Then, where is Basil now?" Lena couldn't help but ask. Her voice sounded curious, and worried too.It had taken her quite a long time to adjust and forget him. Now, it was as if she lost her innerpeace.

"Back then, Basil's power was sealed. Later, he was sent to the Gehenna Border for punishment.However, after the war between the Holy Dragon Empire and the Timber Deity Empire broke out,even I don't know where he is now," the emperor responded with a solemn expression.

"What?" Lena found it hard to believe what he just said. A surge of concern rose up inside of her.Her body trembled and she started to regret the time that had passed without seeing Basil. If shehad just walked out of the Witch Palace even once, perhaps all this wouldn't have happened. If shewas willing to forgive Basil back then, the penalty for his crime would have been less severe.However, it was too late. It was only now that she knew all of this.

"But you don't have to worry too much about him. I have secretly sent people out to know about hiswhereabouts. As long as he is still within the Gehenna Border, he should be easy to track,” theemperor stated as he tried to comfort her.

But he didn't know that he had been kept in the dark all this time. He couldn't know anything aboutBasil

"Your Majesty, please replace Basil! I want to see him! I must see him!" Tears welled up in Lena's eyes asshe pleaded. She felt horrible and thought that Basil had suffered a lot because of her. Now, shedidn't know where he was, and she was worried he was not well. Regret was visible on her face asshe sobbed.

"If I replace him, I'll make sure to tell you." The emperor nodded in agreement. He didn't expect Lena tocare about Basil so much.

"Your Majesty, thank you. I truly appreciate it. For now, please excuse me,” Lena said after she hadregained her composure. She bowed and walked out carefully to leave.

As soon as she walked out of the Violet Cloud Hall, a familiar figure immediately walked up to her."Your Royal Highness, the Witch Palace has been cleaned up.” It was Randi, Lena's personal maid.She spoke softly and politely and her actions showed respect.

"Randi, I have something to ask you," Lena said in a low voice as her face turned cold and serious.Randi was confused, but she immediately nodded.

"Did Basil come to the Witch Palace that year?" Lena asked directly. She remembered that at thattime, she did hear some absurd noise outside the Witch Palace. She then asked Randi to go outsidethe palace and check out what had happened. But Randi came back and told her that there wasnothing unusual.

Randi wasn't expecting Lena's question. She didn't anticipate that her master would bring up whathad happened at that time. Of course, this was a burden she was carrying. She knew there wouldcome a time when she would no longer be able to keep this secret from Lena.

"Tell me," Lena urged after noticing how Randi remained silent, as if she was thinking about what torespond to her question

"I'm sorry, Your Royal Highness. I didn't want you to be hurt, so I..." Randi explained and trailed offas she knelt down to ask for forgiveness.

"Do you think that I don't feel sad now? I didn't know that Basil came to me and risked his life to seeme. If he had died at that time, I would have failed to live up to the consort's expectation and wouldhave felt miserable all my life! Randi, you have been with me for so many years. You should knowwhat I hate,” Lena said in a cold voice.

"It's actually the eldest prince..." Randi murmured, feeling aggrieved. If it weren't for Alston's words,she wouldn't have had the courage to lie to her master.

"The eldest prince? Did Alston ask you to do that?" This revelation shocked Lena.

Randi nodded in confirmation

"Just go back to the Witch Palace first. I want to go somewhere alone," Lena ordered simply. After ashort pause, Randi bowed down a little. Lena nodded slightly, turned around and walked away.Soon after, Lena stood in front of a closed palace. She took a step closer and gently pushed thedoor open with her right hand. The door creaked and the room smelled of dust. She took half a stepinside and memories from the past flooded in her mind.

Nothing had changed in the room. The furniture was where they had always been, now collectingdust. She tried to take a few steps inside and everything was nostalgic. However, her mood wastotally different from the last time she came here. She looked around, lost in her thoughts. She hadcountless memories here, but they were all miserable now when she thought about them.

Letting out a gentle sigh, she turned around and was about to leave. But then she seemed to detectsomething. Following her instinct, she decided to check for it. She walked towards the big bed inthe middle of the bedroom, took out a box from under the pillow, opened it and saw a brightspiritual light shining inside of it.

"Isn't this the spiritual power gathering crystal? Why is such a precious treasure hidden here?" shetalked to herself softly as she stared at the box, bewildered and curious.

The spiritual power gathering crystal was given to Rocky by Marcia for him to cultivate. However,when he returned to the Palace City, it was not convenient for him to carry the crystal with him allthe time, so he put it in a box and hid it under his bed for safekeeping. That year, he tried to breakinto the Witch Palace, where he acquired serious injuries. He was then sent to the Gehenna Border.Therefore, the crystal was left in his palace.

“Does this spiritual power gathering crystal actually belong to Basil?" Lena thought to herself.“However, it is impossible for him to own such rare treasure. Perhaps someone sent it to him? But asfar as I know, there are only two spiritual power gathering crystals in the Holy Dragon Empire: onein the hand of the Ximen Clan's leader, and the other in the hand of Marcia. Is it possible..." Lenacontinued to think hard. As a smart girl, she soon had some guess about the crystal. After a while,she turned away and walked out of the palace. The crystal was like a clue to her, which might beable to lead her to Basil.

Although this crystal gave her a chance to replace Basil, there was still no assurance that it was possiblefor her to reunite with someone who had been lost for nearly a year.

The next morning, Rocky had just finished cultivating when he heard a knock on the door. "Comein!" he shouted.

The door was pushed open. Sue walked in and was carrying a gorgeous robe and underwear in herhands.

"Mr. Bai, Miss Isis asked me to bring these to you," Sue said calmly, and then put the items on thebed.

"Okay," shortly replied Rocky.

"By the way, Mr. Bai, is there anything important today? Why did Miss Isis dress up very early in themorning looking like a fairy? Her beauty made me so jealous. If I had even just one-tenth of herbeauty, I would be satisfied!" Sue asked jokingly with a sweet smile on her face.

"Really?" Rocky raised his eyebrows and smiled. He had guessed the reason. Today might be animportant day for him and Isis.

"Mr. Bai, hurry up then. After you change your clothes, please come to the Isis Pavilion,” Sue said.Finishing her task, she turned around and left.
