Rebirth of the Prime Dragon Master
Chapter 637 There's No Need To Rush

"No problem. However, how do you plan to capture the Misty Plain with only three thousand armedforces, Commander in Chief? The Misty Plain is widely known to be easily defensible but virtuallyimpossible to attack. Plus, there are five thousand soldiers from the Timber Deity Empire who aredefending the place. We do not have even a dog's chance of winning." Allen nodded at Rocky, butconfusion and doubt still plagued his mind.

"You will soon replace out. Come with me then," Rocky said with a mysterious smile.

"Okay. I'm looking forward to that.” Allen was a little bit appeased when he saw the confidence thatemanated from Rocky. He looked forward to replaceing out how he would accomplish that.

After Allen left the commander-in-chief's tent, Rocky continued to pore over the militarytopographic map.

Soon after, Isis walked into the tent with a cup of tea.

"I made ginseng tea for you. Drink it, while it is warm.” Rocky looked up at her with an appreciativesmile, as she served the ginseng tea to him.

"Thank you, Isis." He took the cup carefully and drained the tea with one gulp.

"Are you really confident about conquering the Misty Plain?" asked Isis. She could see, that therewas no trace of hesitation or worry in his actions. However, she wondered if it was all an act.

"What? You don't believe me?" Rocky looked up at Isis, with a teasing glint in his eyes.

"I do believe you. But it is no joke to fight on this Misty Plain! Even my father once suffered losses atthe Misty Plain, so I was worried..." Isis wrung her hand anxiously. She was looking at the floor, soRocky waited for her to look up before he answered. His voice was firm, and it soothed the anxietyin her heart.

"Don't worry. I won't fight a battle carelessly. The Misty Plain is indeed dangerous, but it's a double-edged sword. It depends on what advantage you make use of," Rocky explained with a smile. Then,he continued jokingly, "You made tea for me, and you're worried about me. You would be a goodwife. If I had known that earlier, I wouldn't have agreed to a fake marriage. It would be great to beyour real husband, instead.”

A blush spread prettily over Isis’ face. Although Rocky was praising her, the words sounded like hewas flirting with her. She wondered if Rocky could hear the violent thuds her heartbeat made."Don't stay up too late," Isis said instead, as she looked coyly at her feet. She couldn't meet his eyes, embarrassed further by the blush that she knew was on her cheeks. She could feel her cheeks andears burning with its warmth. Before Rocky could tease her more, Isis excused herself awkwardly andleft.

The next day, as Rocky had planned, they attacked the enemy from three sides. Nearly ten thousandsoldiers, led by Commander Ron and three Frontline Commanders, marched over to the left wing ofthe Timber Deity Empire's defensive line. Another twenty thousand vanguard soldiers were led byIsis. These soldiers approached the Timber Deity Empire from the right wing of its defensive line.Meanwhile, Rocky and Allen led three thousand forces to the middle of the defensive line. They didso in secret, masked by the soldiers who were approaching from the right and left wings.

"What are you doing here?" Rocky asked in surprise. They had barely set out when he noticed, thatMarin had set out with them. He didn't remember asking Marin to come with him, though.

"My cousin asked me to follow you," Marin replied reluctantly.

"Really? Your face tells me, you don't want to, though." A teasing smile crossed Rocky's lips. Ofcourse, Marin wasn't amused.

"Humph!" She looked away with an annoyed frown on her face. She was trying hard to ignoreRocky's teasing, but she didn't make it easy. The truth was that she was worried about Rocky as well.Since she met him, she couldn't help but feel uneasy and frustrated. She knew that she shouldaccept the truth, that Rocky was already her cousin's husband. She should give up on her patheticcrush on him. However, her affection for Rocky always stirred whenever he was around. It wasmental suffering, worse than any cruel torture that she knew.

Rocky smirked beside her and shrugged. He decided to lay off the teasing before she killed himbefore their enemies.

One night passed swiftly. Rocky and Allen reached the Misty Plain with three thousand soldiers.

The Misty Plain, as its name indicated, was a vast expanse of land. The mist that enveloped itcompletely, made for extremely poor visibility. It was very difficult to see the road in front, muchmore to wage a war. It also felt uncomfortably cold and damp. All in all, it was not an ideal conditionto mount an attack.

Upon Rocky's orders, all the soldiers were connected by ropes. This was to prevent them fromgetting separated on the Misty Plain.

"Louis, it's your time to shine!” Rocky said to Louis, who was standing next to him.

"I will do the best I can.” As soon as the orders passed from Rocky's lips, Louis started to move. Hewalked to the front of the troops and led the way forward.

The defense camp of the Timber Deity Empire was located at the end of the Misty Plain. It wasextremely difficult to get there since the mist made it practically impossible to navigate. Without aprofessional guide, it was crazy even to step inside. Thankfully, Rocky had considered this already."Commander in Chief, you are truly a wise leader!" Allen couldn't help but praise Rocky for his wiseappointment.

"If it is a rose, it will bloom sooner or later,” was Rocky's profound reply.

"Are you talking about yourself, as well?" Allen smiled.

"I'm not a rose. I'm just a stem with thorns," said Rocky in self-mockery.

"Well, the stem supports the rose,” Allen insisted.

Rocky laughed and responded, "Head Allen, I won't increase your salary, no matter how hard you tryto flatter me."

"I'm just telling the truth. I'm curious about who you really are,” Allen responded with an impliedsmile.

"Is that so? What good would it do for you to know who I am?" asked Rocky curiously, but leisurely."None really, but maybe it would benefit you. If you want to be trusted and supported by people, you should trust people first. If you wear too many masks, you will be unable to see clearly and tendto doubt others. You will lose your trust in the long run,” said Allen

"I will keep your words in mind, Head Allen." Rocky nodded sagely, but he didn't offer any morewords.

While Rocky and his soldiers were walking through the middle of the Misty Plain, the left and rightwings of the Timber Deity Empire's defensive line were also being attacked by the Crimson DragonArmy.

The two armies fought fiercely, as wolves who were protecting their territories.

At the Timber Deity Empire's side, Alyssa had assumed personal command on the right wing of theirdefensive line. Her belief that she had complete control of the Crimson Dragon Army was bolsteredwhen she saw the hostile forces were attacking from the right wing, exactly as she had expected.

A day and a night had passed in fierce fighting. However, Alyssa was caught by surprise when Isissuddenly retreated with her vanguard soldiers. Since then, nothing happened at the right defensiveline.

"Curious, very curious! Why did the Crimson Dragon Army stop attacking? They ought to strengthentheir offensive while they have the strength. Did they realize that the Dragon Tiger Road was a trap? But it doesn't matter, even if they've found out. If they didn't attack from the Dragon Tiger Road, they would end in a stalemate. They would just be wasting their time and effort if they attackedfrom the left or the middle of the defensive line. That would be extremely favorable for the TimberDeity Empire. That clever Rocky definitely knew this. I'm sure he would choose to strike from theDragon Tiger Road in full force,” Alyssa said as she analyzed the situation. She wondered what tricksthe Crimson Dragon Army was up to, and why they ceased their attack on the right side.

"Maybe, this is a trick by Rocky. He could be pretending to stop their attacks so that we would letour guard down. Then, they would attack with full force, hoping to catch us off-guard,” said Alyssa, and her eyes narrowed suspiciously. She figured that she needed to block off the Crimson DragonArmy for ten days which would cause them the most damage. She didn't have to rush to achievesuccess. She would just fight and steadily chip the enemies’ ranks until it was time to counterattack.
