Rebirth of the Prime Dragon Master
Chapter 660 No News Of Him

"Why didn't you visit me after you returned?" Marcia said to Lena. She looked at her as if they weresisters.

"That would be inconvenient. You're the one who requested to not let others know about ourrelationship. I am just trying to be cautious,” Lena replied softly.

Marcia and Lena were two of the most prominent personalities of the Holy Dragon Empire. One wasthe symbol and the other was the backbone. What was unknown to people was how close the tworeally were. They once lived in the Dragon Master Clan for a while and had fostered close relationswith each other.

Lena was only twelve or thirteen years old when she first met Marcia. The two girls had to part wayswhen Lena was sent back to the Holy Dragon Empire. A few years later, Marcia appeared there tooand finally they were reunited. However, the two had to conceal their relationship and Marcia alsoasked Lena to keep her background a secret. They did not let people see just how close they reallywere, only meeting each other for a few times.

Thus, Lena was one of the few people who knew the true background of Marcia

"Okay, I forgive you. I'm just afraid that this will be the same as last year. You left in such a hurry. Ididn't even have time to say goodbye. But what's done is done. Let's not talk about it." Marciawanted to say something else but decided to keep it to herself. She did not want to surface badmemories.

"Actually, I asked you to come here to discuss just that. Maybe it's time we talk about whathappened last year,” Lena said, blinking her beautiful eyes.

Marcia raised her eyebrows in apprehension. "Prince Basil went too far. What he did is unforgivable.I would understand if that makes you upset. After all..." Marcia sighed.

"Honestly," Lena said, "I don't blame him.” She shook her head and seemed serious.

"What do you mean? What he did is horrible. You should at least feel upset,” Marcia suggested"Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. Besides, I know Basil. He must have had a good reason fordoing something that reckless," Lena said nonchalantly.

"I can't believe you're letting it go so easily. His crime is unforgivable." Marcia looked angry.

"I just have one question. Did Basil really break into the Witch Palace that year?" Lena asked Marcia, finally getting to the point as to why she wanted to meet Marcia. She only trusted the emperor ofthe Holy Dragon Empire and Marcia who had a chance of knowing the truth.

"You didn't know?" Marcia tilted her head.

"I didn't. I just learned about this from His Majesty quite recently.” Lena shook her head.

"Basil nearly risked his life to see you," Marcia recalled.

"If only I knew about this, I would have gone out. Then perhaps Basil would be okay. It's all Alston'sfault. He lied to me!" Lena said angrily.

"Lena, I've been wanting to ask you a question for a while now, even before you left last year."Marcia looked serious.

"What is it?" Lena asked.

"Do you recall what happened between you and Basil? Didn't you feel something was wrong at thattime?" Marcia asked, careful not to trigger Lena with a sad memory.

"I rarely have any memory of what happened to me that time, including what happened betweenme and Basil." Lena forced herself to remember, but only a faint sadness in her heart occurred.

"It's alright if you've forgotten it,” Marcia said to comfort Lena. Truth was that after the incident,Marcia went ahead and investigated the matter on her own. At first, she had clues and leads, buteventually they were all gone as if someone tried to hide evidence. Her suspicion was that Basil wasframed.

"Marcia, I also want to ask you something. Just promise that you will be honest,” Lena told Marciawith a concerned look.

Marcia nodded.

"Have you known Basil even way back?" Lena asked, pursing her lips.

"Why are you asking this? Of course I do. I've known him for a while now. He's the prince, after all! Itwould be stranger if I didn't know him," Marcia responded, with a slight smile.

"Of course, I don't mean that," Lena sighed. "I mean, have you ever helped him after he became aroyal spirit manipulator? He was much powerful then and his strength increased rapidly. Hesuccessfully fought the Magic Phoenix Empire's phoenix spirit manipulator and even took out theyellow spiritual crystal. Frankly, it is quite surprising.” Lena did not bother to mask her confusion."Perhaps he got lucky? Or maybe he's just really skilled and intelligent?" Marcia responded with ashrug. She was wondering why Lena would think she and Basil had a special relationship.

"Then what was your spiritual power gathering crystal doing in Basil's room?" Lena could see a hintof hesitation on Marcia's face, which made her doubt Marcia's honesty. She took out the spiritualpower gathering crystal that she had found in Basil's room.

Marcia looked stunned. She had given the crystal to Rocky in the past. It was a wonder for her toohow it reached Lena's hand.

"Marcia, you have to be honest with me," Lena declared.

"Well," Marcia started. "It's true that I've taught him in the past. But I merely gave him an advicebecause he also helped me once. It was just my way to pay it forward.” Finally, she was beinghonest.

"Even so, you shouldn't have given him the spiritual power gathering crystal. This is extremelyvaluable,” Lena retorted frustratingly.

"I only gave it to him because of your relationship with him that goes back into your childhood. You've always expected highly of him, anyway. I wasn't even using the spiritual power gatheringcrystal anymore." Marcia acted like the crystal did not matter to her, but she was merely trying tocover her tracks. She had a deeper reason as to why she gave it to him

"Is that so?" Lena was skeptical of Marcia.

"Of course.” Marcia nodded

"His Majesty informed me that you were the one who sealed the Holy Dragon Bead's power insideBasil's body. You also recommended sending him to the Gehenna Border. Is that correct?" Lenainquired

"Only because he did something bad to you,” Marcia responded firmly.

"But no one knows anything about Basil now. Not even where he is. Do you know where he is now?"Lena was starting to feel anxious.

For a brief moment, Marcia looked stunned. Then, a sly smile formed on her lips. "His Majestydoesn't even know where he is. Why would I do?"

"Really? I want to see him. I want to make sure he knows that I forgive him." Lena bit her bottom lipand tried to hold back tears. The past year had tested her and she was more mature now. However, the thought of Basil made her feel like a sad child again.

"Don't worry. He'll come back to you if he knows you care about him." Marcia put her arms aroundLena.

"Yes. He will come back. He has to," Lena said, trying to convince herself.

"Alright. I have to go now. I'll see you again soon." Marcia got up and quickly turned to leave theWitch Palace.

As soon as she stepped out, her eyes fell to the floor. "Lena, I hope you forgive me for lying to you,”she muttered to herself. "It's not yet time for you two to meet each other. You can't forgive him yet.He might lose his motivation. In this way, he wouldn't be able to control the strong and evil powerof the Holy Dragon Bead inside his body. If that happens, he might die. But he would definitelycome back. By then perhaps you replace it in your heart to forgive me.” Marcia's body trembled beforeshe completely disappeared from the Witch Palace.
