Chapter 663 Marching Towards The Enemy Line

Rocky discovered something new from the brain surgery he performed on the wild spirit-manipulated beasts in the Spiritual Fairyland. As it turned out, the brains of spirit-manipulatedbeasts were just like computers with self-updating ability. If some programs of a computer weredamaged, the computer would neither work nor update its software. Similar things would happen tospirit-manipulated beasts’ brains if their cerebral cortices were damaged.

Because of that, damages to a spirit-manipulated beast's brain should be prevented by notstimulating its cerebral cortex. But not stimulating its cerebral cortex also meant that the wild spirit-manipulated beast could not be deprived of its self-consciousness. The only way Rocky could comeup with to solve this dilemma was to block the cerebral cortices. Blocking some programs in acomputer would disable some functions in the said computer, but the computer itself could stillaccept instructions given to it. Likewise, blocking a beast's cerebral cortex would still allow thebeast's brain to read the instruction, but the cerebral cortex would be incapable of following it. Thismethod would allow the beast's brain to function normally and cause its cerebral cortex to lose itsfunction at the same time.

This kind of theory had undoubtedly gone out of the scope of science and technology. In otherwords, it was something that could not be resolved only with science and technology—it would notbe easy to put such theory into action.

But this was not a problem for Rocky. He had already come up with a solution. He wanted to putsomething he had learned into use. It was a kind of masterstroke unrivaled in this era—theMysterious Beast Transformation Skill.

As everyone knew, the state of a spirit-manipulated beast's spiritual source was closely related tothe condition of its whole body, and the spiritual source also controlled the beast's whole body—including its brain—through its spiritual meridians. What would not change was that the cerebralcortex would still be under the control of the brain. It would just lose control of the spiritual sourceand could no longer follow the instructions given by the brain.

However, everything was always easier said than done. Rocky was but an amateur regarding theMysterious Beast Transformation Skill. For him, to do such a detailed and precise operation waseven more complicated than connecting through spiritual power. But giving up was never an optionfor Rocky. The more difficult the challenge was, the more persistent he would be.

In order to replace the location of the targeted spiritual meridian, he had to first build a spiritual powerbridge. It would not be easy for there were tens of thousands of spiritual meridians inside a spirit-manipulated beast. Experienced as Rocky was, he naturally had his own way. He would stimulate thecerebral cortex to cause some vibrations. Once the cerebral cortex was stimulated, the meridian thatvibrated was the spiritual meridian he targeted. Luckily, it worked—he managed to replace the spiritualmeridian that controlled the cerebral cortex.

The next step after replaceing the spiritual meridian he targeted was to cut it off. But considering thatsome mutations occurred the last time Rocky made a spiritual power connection, what wouldhappen this time if he cut off a spiritual meridian remained unpredictable. Therefore, Rocky had tobe extremely careful when he entered the beasts brain. He had to slowly break down theconnection between the spiritual meridian and the cerebral cortex using his evil spiritual power.Right at the moment the spiritual meridian got separated from the cortex, the situation suddenlybecame volatile. The spirit-manipulated beast also began to showrejection towards Rocky's spiritual sense.

Once he finished everything, Rocky left the Magic Spiritual Space, sent the four beasts back into theMagic Spiritual Space, and went back to the Crimson Dragon Army's base. The Crimson DragonArmy was about to reach the left wing of the Timber Deity Empire's defensive line and fight againstthe Roaring Flame Empire's army of fifty thousand forces. As the Commander in Chief, Rockynaturally ought to be there in the battle and lead them.

When the sky darkened, the Crimson Dragon Army, which had been lying in wait, started tocontinue their march towards the left wing of the Timber Deity Empire's defensive line.

After walking for one whole day and one whole night, the Crimson Dragon Army finally arrived atthe perimeter of the left wing of the Timber Deity Empire's defensive line. They pitched camps fivemiles away from the defensive line, got themselves settled and prepared for the oncoming bloodybattle.

On the other side, the Roaring Flame Empire had placed fifty thousand forces on the left wing of theTimber Deity Empire's defensive line to build a stronghold and wait for the battle.

Rocky had received a tip that total changes had been made in the defensive line of the Timber DeityEmpire. After the Roaring Flame Empire sent fifty thousand forces to support the Timber DeityEmpire, the Timber Deity Empire only left ten thousand men in the right wing of their defensive line.The middle part of the defensive line had also been pushed towards the border of the Misty Plain,and the defense there had also been tightened. "And?" Rocky raised his head and looked at Allen.

"This time, the person acting as Commander in Chief for the Roaring Flame Empire's army is somekind of big shot. People called him Blood Lord Leo, and he's reached the fifth grade of the SupernalStage already. Rumor has it that even the devil will take a detour when they see him. He's just beenconferred as Duke of Loyalty and Valor, and he's even been granted a military right to lead an armyof one hundred thousand men by the emperor of the Roaring Flame Empire,” said Allen.

"Blood Lord Leo? The name sounds creepy,” Rocky said mockingly.

"Blood Lord Leo is infamous for his cold-bloodedness. He can kill without even batting an eyelid.He's wicked, merciless, and cruel. However, he's indeed a competent and skilled army leader.
