Rebirth of the Prime Dragon Master
Chapter 679 The Irony

Rocky soon realized that Isis only asked about his age to divert his attention, attempting to stop himfrom sulking with his brooding eyes. Although it looked a little clumsy, her sweet gesture definitelymoved him.

After a few hours of riding on Uriah, the two of them finally arrived at the main camp of the frontline. As soon as they got off Uriah, a guard approached and greeted them, "Greetings, Commanderin Chief Rocky and Deputy Commander in Chief Isis. His Royal Highness and Commander in ChiefLance have been waiting for you in the tent.”

"Let's go." Rocky nodded at Isis and then strode forward. Although a fierce storm would come hisway, he still appeared calm and collected.

Upon arriving inside the tent, they caught sight of Lance, Alston, and several Elite Commanders ofthe Crimson Dragon Army. Apparently, Alston was going to dominate this meeting.

The moment Rocky set foot inside the tent, Alston's eyes turned sharp, like two daggers aiming athim. Although Rocky had physically changed a lot, there was no way Alston couldn't recognize himat first sight.

As for Rocky, he had mixed feelings about this. Although they had different mothers, the two werehalf-brothers by blood. And yet, Alston still had set up a trap to frame him shamelessly. No matterhow angry and vengeful Rocky was, at this moment, he chose to calm down. After all, he couldn'tact on impulse. Much to Rocky's expectation, Alston was nowhere near surprise to see him. This onlymeant that Alston must be fully aware of his identity and prepared to take him down. Althoughquite alarmed, Rocky knew better than to act recklessly at this point.

However, as soon as their eyes met, sparks instantly flew out, as if the two distinct forces collidedviolently. The atmosphere inside the tent seemed to gradually turn dark with the two of themexuding dominant and regal auras that could only be carried by royalties.

Everyone else inside felt slightly intimidated—even Lance, who was familiar with the two, was utterlysilent. In their eyes, the two were like two mighty dragons who were about to brawl—tit for tat, aneye for an eye.

'I have always felt a special and familiar temperament on Rocky. Now, I finally understand what it is.He has the same royal presence as Alston. Is it possible that Rocky really comes from the royalfamily?’ Lance thought to himself.

"Rocky..." Isis, like the others, was also perplexed at Rocky's sudden strange behavior. Placing herhand on his arm, she bowed to Alston and said, "Pleased to meet you, Your Royal Highness!"

"Miss Isis, long time no see! Your beauty is still so timeless. You know, my brothers all like you verymuch, Miss Isis. It's a pity that Rocky has won your heart. What a lucky guy he is!" Alston exclaimedwith a broad smile before turning to look at Rocky.

However, Rocky met his gaze with a nonchalant, cold face, obviously not a bit browbeaten by theprince.

"I'm flattered, Your Royal Highness." A slight smile was painted on Isis’ beautiful face. Seeing thatRocky stayed mum and immobile, she anxiously added, "Your Royal Highness, Rocky is from ahumble family and hasn't seen a royal member before, so he doesn't know what etiquette is. Pleaseforgive him!"

"It's okay. You don't have to be courteous, Commander in Chief Rocky. In fact, I specifically askedyou to come to thank you. Evian City is safe and sound because of you. You have bravely fought toprotect it and, in turn, solved the crisis of the Holy Dragon Empire. You are our hero!" Alstonexpressed eagerly, waving his hand and acting as if he didn't care about Rocky's rude behavior. But,the disdainful look in his eyes could never fool Rocky otherwise.

"I'm flattered, Your Royal Highness. I just got lucky.” Rocky finally opened his mouth, still lookingneither humble nor respectful in front of a royalty.

Everyone felt the indifference in his tone, surprised that Rocky turned to be so ballsy andunbothered. The ineffable tension between Rocky and Alston left everyone completely curious andconfused at the same time.

"Commander in Chief Rocky, you look so young, and yet here you are, already an acclaimed hero ofour empire. May I know where your hometown is?" Alston asked as if this was an effort to initiatesome small talk.

"It's a remote village. You don't know it, Your Royal Highness," replied Rocky shortly, obviously notinterested in further engaging with the prince.

"Really? I just thought that maybe, since you're such a talented young man, there must be moretalents like you in your hometown," Alston said meaningfully, slightly lowering his gaze.

"Your Royal Highness, I don't think you will be interested in such a place filled with hypocrites,”replied Rocky, raising his eyebrows.

A hint of anger flashed through Alston's eyes, as he was aware that Rocky was clearly mocking him.Clenching his fist, he tried to remain calm, but seeing how much Rocky had changed irritated himeven more. If it were the old Rocky, he would've certainly argued with him by now. But Rocky stoodcalm and composed, although fury was building up inside him.

'I didn't expect that in more than a year, he has grown so fast. No wonder Lance has placed greatimportance to him, and even let him marry his daughter. He is really not simple!" Alston thought tohimself. He seemed to have found a new appraisal of Rocky, but still didn't think the young mancould pose as a threat to him. If he wanted Rocky to die, the latter wouldn't survive a second.

But of course, Alston wouldn't just recklessly kill Rocky out in the open. He was Lance's son-in-lawand the Commander in Chief of the Crimson Dragon Group. If he died unexpectedly, the morale ofthe entire army would suffer significantly. The Crimson Dragon Group was currently in a war withthe Timber Deity Empire, and if the Commander in Chief died, it would turn battle around, with theenemy possibly taking advantage of it. Although he wanted to kill Rocky as soon as he could, hecouldn't risk it and let the Timber Deity Empire take this opportunity to threaten the Holy DragonEmpire. Therefore, Alston was more than eager to defeat the Timber Deity Empire and utterly makeRocky disappear from the world. This way, he'd practically hit two birds with one stone—gaining thesupport of his people and eliminating the imposing threat to him.

However, much to Alston's bewilderment, Rocky had always been aware of his plan. Although thetime was yet to be set, Rocky knew that an unavoidable fight was destined to befall on them. Andfighting a conniving and scheming influential man like Alston would definitely not be a child's play.Yet, no matter what tricks Alston had up his sleeves, Rocky would replace a way to get even with him, making sure that the former got a taste of his own medicine.
