Rebirth of the Prime Dragon Master
Chapter 820 Prince Woods Is Missing

When the sun was about to rise, and the lights were at their darkest, the Cao mansion was suddenlyplunged into chaos. The night had been quiet and serene just a few seconds ago, but the sound ofquick footsteps and low whispers broke the peace.

In front of the Magnificent Hall, some Cao Clan disciples who were on night patrol had found analmost unconscious figure tied up with rope. When they came close to investigate, they wereshocked to see that it was the chief of the Xiao Clan, Raef.

But this was not the only astonishing thing. There was a piece of paper on Raef, and written on itwere the words that stunned all the Cao Clan members. It said, "Prince Woods is missing!"

One of those disciples who were on duty immediately reported this to Lucilla. The moment shereceived the news, she rushed to the Magnificent Hall herself to replace out what was happening."Chief..." Once she got there, she only found the disciples who had found Raef, and they cried outher name at once.

"Where is chief Raef?" Lucilla asked urgently, and her face was tight with worry.

"We have taken him to the inside, chief!" one of them responded.

Lucilla nodded at this and immediately proceeded to the hall where she found Raef on a chair. Thedisciples had untied him already and left him to rest, but he hadn't regained consciousness yet."Chief, here is the note that we found on chief Raef.” At this time, a disciple handed over a piece ofpaper to his chief.

Lucilla's face darkened as she read the writing on the paper. She thought that it could be a trick, butshe was also concerned about the one who had knocked Raef out. The fact that the person was ableto knock him out and disappear without a trace showed that whoever he was must have been quitepowerful. Besides, she wondered why the mysterious person did this to Raef instead of someoneelse.

The words on the paper took her attention, and she couldn't bear to neglect it, not if there was apossibility that it was true. She immediately motioned for one of the Cao Clan disciples to comecloser and said, "You, go and replace Master Lucas and take him to the Magnificent Hall. The rest ofyou, stay here and keep an eye on chief Raef. Make sure that the contents of this paper remain asecret. If anyone of you leaks one word from this paper, you'll be sorry!"

Hearing this, all the disciples present lowered their heads immediately. None of them dared even totake a breath for fear of making a sound.

Once she had given out further instructions, Lucilla hurried out of the Magnificent Hall, and then sherushed to Woods' place to check if what the paper said was true. Of course, she hoped that this wasonly a trick, but if it was true, the Cao Clan would be in serious trouble, especially if it became publicknowledge.

If she was to keep this a secret so that it would not cause unnecessary chaos, she needed to practiceutmost caution and discretion, thus she brought only two personal maidservants with her, as shetraveled to the wing house where Woods rested.

Once she arrived at the wing house, Lucilla found that there were only two maidservants outside theplace, waiting and guarding.

Those two maidservants bowed respectfully as soon as they saw her.

"Have you seen the prince since last night? Did he go out?" she asked instantly.

The two maidservants shook their heads at once.

"Did you hear anything?" she continued.

The two maidservants looked at each other, then again shook their heads.

"What time did Miss Mary leave after she sent Prince Woods back?" Lucilla asked firmly.

"Chief, since Miss Mary went into the room last night, she hasn't come out yet,” one of themaidservants responded.

"So, it was a trick!" Lucilla exclaimed in relief. She thought that since Prince Woods stayed all nightwith Mary, if something happened to him, Mary would surely do something. She would not remainso quiet if something bad happened, so they must be all right.

With this thought, Lucilla intended to turn and leave, as she didn't want to disturb Woods. However, before she was able to take a step, she suddenly hesitated. She looked back at the two maidservantsand asked again, "Did you two hear nothing last night? Nothing at all?”

The two maidservants nodded.

Lucilla suddenly felt that something was wrong. If Mary hadn't left the room last night, then shemust have been busy’ with Prince Woods. It would have been impossible for the two of them tostay quiet, so there was something undoubtedly fishy.

A determined expression flashed across her face before she turned back and went to the front ofthe door. She coughed, then shouted, "Your Royal Highness, I'm sorry to disturb you so early in themorning, but there is something that I need to talk about with you. I hope that you can at leastanswer me if you are there, or you can simply ask Miss Mary to come out."

As she spoke, Lucilla stayed alert for any noise, and when no one answered, she stuck her ear closeto the door, so she could listen if there was any sound inside the room. But to her surprise, therewas no sound at all.

This time, unease started to crawl like ice inside her, but she still tried to stay calm. She repeated hercalls a second time, but there was still no response inside the room.

“Could that paper be telling the truth?" Lucilla instantly felt distressed, and so, she rushed inside, ignoring proper etiquette for the moment, then looked around the room.

The only person inside was a woman, who was comfortably sleeping wrapped up in quilts on thebed, but Woods was nowhere to be found.

"Miss Mary..." She hastily snatched the covers off and was astonished to replace, not Mary, but Juey, who was completely bare as the day she was born.

Lucilla was confused. She put her palm close to Juey's face and found that she was breathingsmoothly. She suspected that Juey must have been drugged, for when she attempted to wake herup, she failed.

She let out a deep sigh. She had just discovered that Woods was missing just as the paper said, andnobody saw Mary leave. And now, her sister Juey was lying instead on the bed, naked. What exactlyhappened last night?

She looked around for more clues, but there was no sign of any fight or struggle in the room. It wasas if no one had ever been there. However, Prince Woods was missing, and he was most probablykidnapped.

And there was another piece in the confusing puzzle: the person who left the paper and tied upRaef to draw the Cao Clan's attention. If he was the one who kidnapped Prince Woods, then whywould he leave the paper? If it wasn't him, what was his part in all these? Did he deliberatelyprovoke the Cao Clan? Or worse, could this be a conspiracy by the Qi Clan? But then, the Qi Clanwouldn't do such a preposterous move as kidnapping Prince Woods, even if they wanted tooverthrow the Cao Clan. They wouldn't do such a stupid thing, because it would only bring themtrouble.

If it weren't the Qi Clan, who else would target the Cao Clan? Her uncle Tod and uncle Freddy didn'thave any reason to do so. If something happened to Woods, the whole Cao Clan would be in bigtrouble, and her two uncles wouldn't benefit from it at all.

The more she thought about it, the more confused she became. She felt an oncoming headachefrom all the stress. In fact, she may not have realized she had fallen into a trap that someone had setfor her.
