A distance of ten meters separated Rocky and Carter from Alyssa. Evaluating the small spiritualbeast that she cradled in her hands—the Fox Marten—would be an extremely challenging task forthe duo.

The success of performing the Beast Evaluation Skill would be based on the spiritual power oneheld. What made any evaluation skill difficult was taking into account both performing it andsustaining it at such a large distance. Moreover, the Fox Marten was in the hands of one of the mostpowerful masters of the Divine Stage. Thus, her powerful aura as well would influence theperforming of the Beast Evaluation Skill.

Now, Rocky and Carter needed to replace a way to properly evaluate the beast from that distance whileit was under Alyssa's invisible influence. This proved to be more difficult than they initially thought.Carter was momentarily stunned, knowing that Alyssa deliberately created such challenges duringcompetitions. Soon, however, he gave Rocky a cocky grin before confidently saying, “I'm afraid evena man as powerful as you is unable to summon the three Beast Evaluation Skills from this distance.Let's see how you'll beat me after this!" Upon saying these words, Carter lifted his Eight-trigramMirror which began to hover in the air as he imparted his spiritual power into it before headingstraight for Alyssa. An odd colored light beamed down from the mirror and surrounded the FoxMarten instantly like a cloak.

Carter's sudden attack caused quite a commotion and led to a heated discussion among the crowd.However, the audience also recognized that this round was one specifically tailored to Carter's skills.On the other side, Rocky stood there, frowning slightly. The crowd saw his face, thinking that hemust be at the end of his wits, awaiting his doom to lose the game.

Carter spared some attention to see Rocky's reaction. When he confirmed that Rocky did nothingbut stood still, he was sure to win this contest.

"It looks like that Princess Alyssa decides to take side of the Qi Clan finally..." Lucas uttered with asigh. Even before the competition began, he knew that Rocky was at a total disadvantage.

"Mr. Rookie has done his best. Even if he were to lose this battle, it would still be glorious andmemorable," Lucilla voiced out her opinion. A faint smile accompanied her calm demeanor towardthe situation. If it weren't for Rocky, the Cao Clan would have lost at an even earlier round. Nomatter the outcome, the Cao Clan was still grateful to him for representing them well.

What mattered to Lucilla more than winning the Beast Master Contest was discovering a talentedbeast evaluator to join her clan. That discovery in itself was more precious than winning the contest.The Beast Master Contest allowed them to keep their eyes wide open for such a prospective beastevaluator. This made watching the competitions worthwhile to them.

Lucilla braced herself for Rocky's loss and focused on him instead of the outcome of the contest.With the Cao Clan being reduced to inferiority and Alyssa providing her full support to the Qi Clan,the latter clan felt relieved. At the moment, Alyssa was making the Cao Clan's mysterious beastevaluator look like an incompetent fool. This provided them all with security and comfort.

"I'm glad we've got princess Alyssa to support us. Otherwise, the Cao Clan would've won thiscontest by a landslide.” Alexander was well aware that the Cao Clan's representative was no ordinarybeast evaluator. If it weren't for Alyssa, he would have been deeply worried and doubtful of Carter'sabilities.

The audience was slightly disappointed that the result of the competition seemed to be obviousdue to it being specially arranged by Alyssa to be tailored to the Qi Clan's liking. Rocky'sperformance was one that had been greatly received by the audience as well.

What they didn't know was that Alyssa had her own hidden agenda. After all, her cognizance andwit were what made her such a valuable asset to the Timber Deity Empire. Once she voiced out herrequest for a new round, she fixed her eyes on Rocky to observe him better. She wanted to see if hehad some other tricks hidden under his sleeve. In the first three rounds, Rocky was obviously notexerting all of his effort even when he cornered Carter, who was already desperately using theheretical Beast Evaluation Skill

Hence, Alyssa intentionally set the competition up as a way to test and evaluate Rocky's fullpotential. If Rocky really did want to lead the Cao Clan to victory, he would do everything in hispower to do so. Carter would never stand a chance against him.

Of course, this was only Alyssa's theory—and so far, Rocky was proving to be a difficult subjectbecause he had yet to show his full strength. She had never backed the wrong horse, except for aonce mistaken man who unfortunately never returned.

Rocky knew Alyssa was keeping a close eye on him in addition to knowing that the competition hadbeen rigged to test him. That was why he was being careful with his moves. Alyssa wouldn't let himgo easily and he knew better than to carelessly do something that would reveal his true identity. Hedidn't think that his prediction should prove to be true so soon in the competition.

But the current situation he was in didn't give him enough time to think properly. He needed tohelp the Cao Clan win, otherwise his plan would be in jeopardy.

When everyone thought Rocky was doomed to lose, he suddenly narrowed his eyes and slowlyraised his hands. Two globe-shaped black shadows full of spiritual power materialized in his palms.Electric currents with the color of obsidian danced and flowed through his fingers like black snakesready to strike at any moment.

"I wasn't planning on using this..." As he gazed at the power he held between his hands, Rockysteadied his sharp gaze at Alyssa—like swords being unsheathed and aimed at the enemy.

At the same time, Alyssa locked eyes on him and felt as though she was a prey that was about to bedevoured by a ravenous predator.

Rocky's counterattack took everyone by surprise. They all had no idea what he was about to do, butthey were eagerly anticipating to see what would happen next.
