"You bastard..." Shocked to the core, Lucilla couldn't think of anything at that moment. There wasonly one person that Lucilla would call "bastard," and that was Rocky. She had feelings for him butcouldn't control him, like she absolutely had no idea what he was doing.

"What are they doing?" Lucas asked in a mixture of annoyance and amusement as he watchedRocky and Lucilla kiss each other in a tight embrace. He didn't understand why they were acting likethis all of a sudden. Lucilla hadn't asked Rocky to do anything, but there seemed to be a tacitunderstanding between them. The previously complicated situation now seemed to have spiraledout of control.

Tate was equally confused as he watched the scene in front of him with his eyes almost popping outof his sockets. Just when he took a step forward to stop them, however, his father pulled him back.Alexander hadn't expected this to happen, but he knew that they couldn't panic now. A singlemisstep could cause their carefully crafted plan to go down the drain. Therefore, he couldn't allowhis son to do anything rash.

By now, the whole Magnificent Hall was in an uproar. Everyone had recovered from their initialastonishment and begun gossiping heatedly, but they still had their eyes glued to Rocky and Lucilla,who were still kissing passionately. When news of this racy incident spread the following day, itwould definitely cause a big sensation.

Lucilla actually felt a little awkward being in Rocky's arms, but she still cooperated with him, becauseshe knew that there was a reason he had done this. She also knew what he wanted to achieve, butshe was worried about whether he could pull it off. Either way, she had no choice but to accept hishelp, since he was the only one who could help her in this situation.

To everyone watching, however, Lucilla looked perfectly comfortable in Rocky's arms, as if she wasannouncing to the world that she was his woman.

When she finally pulled away, she looked into his eyes and said earnestly, "Thank you for coming atthe right time! I kept being pestered. I was worried that there would be a huge misunderstanding,but luckily, you are here now."

The two of them didn't seem to be putting on an act at all. Their intimacy seemed so natural thateveryone believed that Lucilla was really Rocky's woman, unlike what Tate had said.

Tod and Freddy, who had planned to take this opportunity to push Lucilla to resign, looked at eachother, puzzled. If Lucilla and Rocky were really a couple and Tate had just been trying to slander thereputation of the Cao Clan, then they had really gotten themselves into hot water.

"Tod, things don't look good. I think we'd better retreat first!" Freddy said worriedly. The situationseemed to be much more complex than he had thought. If Lucilla and Rocky were indeed a couple,then he and Tod had unwittingly made themselves a part of the Qi Clans unscrupulous plans.

"No, let's wait and see," Tod said, staring at the scene with a gloomy expression on his face. He wasangry that a great opportunity had once again been destroyed by Rocky.

Unable to control himself after hearing Lucilla’s words, Tate shouted, "You two must be acting.Lucilla, I know you must feel ashamed to have to rely on a man in order to protect your reputationand position of the chief of the Cao Clan, but there's no need for that. As long as you marry me andlet our two clans unite by marriage, I promise that no one can take your position away from you!"His eyes were red with fury. No matter what, he couldn't believe that Lucilla and Rocky were an item.It had to be an act they were putting on in order to protect her reputation as well as the Cao Clan's.
