Chapter 1086 She's Innocent

"What are you afraid of? You'll eventually get pregnant anyway." Gilbert gave her a piece of tuna sandwich and said unconcernedly.

Kisa frowned. "You can't say that. You're just lying."

Besides, she had no plans to have a baby with him.

It was one thing to feel moved, but their complicated affairs were another. Kisa did not dare to be pregnant with his baby again at all.

"Gilbert, just be honest with your grandma. I don't think what you're doing is right." Kisa said to him in a serious manner before Madalyn came back.

Gilbert grabbed her hands tightly and said with a smile, "Don't worry. Grandma finally treated you a little better after so long. This is an opportunity for us, and we've got to make good use of it." "But she's going out replace out about it when nothing happens to my belly after some time. She's only going to hate me more for it, isn't she?"

She had no idea what was going on in Gilbert's head.

Lying to Madalyn would only worsen their relationship with each other.

"That's why we've got to work on it and get you pregnant as soon as possible. In that way, what we're doing right now will just be telling her about the news in advance, and not lying." Kisa could not believe what he said. "You're such an unscrupulous man!"

Madalyn was already walking back to the dining table at that time, and there was a maid holding a bowl of hot bone broth behind her.

Then, the maid placed it in front of Kisa.

Madalyn sat opposite of her and said in a neutral tone, "Tuna sandwich isn't nutritious enough for you. Finish this bowl of bone broth and my great-grandson will be very healthy."

Kisa did not feel like drinking something like that early in the morning.

Besides, she was not pregnant at all. The way that Madalyn treated her made her feel very guilty.

She ignored what Gilbert said to her and spoke to Madalyn, "I'm not pregnant. I'll go to the hospital and prove it to you later."

Madalyn immediately arched her brows and looked at Gilbert.

Gilbert rubbed his forehead without saying anything.

Suddenly, Madalyn pounded the table angrily and said to Kisa, "That's enough. What's the point of you keep on denying your pregnancy? Are you afraid that somebody else will take your baby away from you?! Besides, the baby belongs to Gilbert too. What can you do about it if I really did take your baby away as Gilbert's grandmother?"

"Grandma..." Gilbert said helplessly, "Nobody would want a baby with me if you don't stop being so unreasonable.

"Hmph. Anybody who can be pregnant with your child should consider themselves lucky!"

The words that were coming out of Madalyn's mouth became more ridiculous.

Kisa's mood was completely ruined.

She pushed the bowl of bone broth away from her and said, "Go ahead and replace him another woman to bear his child then. I don't think I'm lucky enough."

She stood up and walked outside without turning back after saying that.

Madalyn pounded the table again and scoffed. "Hmph. She's pretty short-tempered for a person who's committed so many sins!"

"Grandma!" Gilbert glanced at her resignedly. "We found out everything about what happened back then, right? She's innocent!"

"That's because you don't know the worst sin she's committed!"

"Grandma, why do you have to be so stubborn? She did nothing wrong in her life. Instead, it's me who made a huge mistake by sending her to jail without knowing the truth."

Gilbert did not want to spend any more time arguing with Madalyn after he saw Kisa walking out of the house. So, he got up from his seat and went after her.

Madalyn got so mad, that she swung her cane on the table and knock the bowl of bone broth to the floor. "He'd better be ignorant of what she did forever. I wonder if he'll still be so protective over her if he ever found out about it. I'm so mad!"

George hurriedly urged her. "Forget it, Ma'am. It's perfectly normal for a pregnant woman to be short-tempered. Besides, Mr. Gilbert had always been protective over Ms. Kisa. There's no need for you to stoop to their level."

Madalyn said coldly, "I would've chased her out of my family if she acted like that

without bearing my great-grandchild in her. This is absurd! How dare a sinner like her give me this kind of attitude!"

Gilbert went right out to the front yard.
