Chapter 1099 You Treat Him Like He's A God

Kisa pursed her lips and did not make a sound. She did not expect that a man as aggressive and vicious as Anthony would help a woman he did not know. She and Lea had not met yet when that incident happened.

"You know what? He was there like a God from heaven, scaring away the bad guys with just one word and telling me not to cry. He said if anyone bullied me again, I could just drop his name: Anthony Mullen. Anthony... Anthony... The name I will never forget," Lea said, suddenly giggling at Kisa. "Just because of his name, I never got bullied again during those years in that bar."

Kisa felt sad when she heard what Lea said. She could tell that Lea really loved Anthony, but the way Anthony treated Lea was anything but love. She saw it all at the restaurant just now. Kisa looked at Lea sadly. "You treat him like he's a God, but what about him? Does he love you?"

Lea shook her head. "It doesn't matter. What matters is that I was with him. Ever since I caught a glimpse of him when I was 19, he has been the only one in my heart and mind. I never dreamed that one day he would come to me. It's just that he seems to have forgotten me, or maybe he has never remembered me.

Lea lowered her eyes but could hardly hide the sadness in her voice.

Kisa looked away, taking a breath of distress. "He reached out to you and asked you to do something for him, right?"

Lea's expression changed. She bit her lower lip and said with a guilty look on her face, "I'm sorry, Kisa. I did many wrong things to you. I don't expect you to forgive me. I just hope we can continue to be friends."

"So, are you willing to leave him for me?" Kisa stared at her.

Lea shook her head with barely any hesitation. "I can't leave him."

Kisa took a deep breath. "Then, there is nothing more to say. Do you think we can still be friends after you betrayed me and harmed me for him?"

"Kisa." Lea pulled at her anxiously, as tears rolled down her face. "You are my best friend. I'm sorry, I...

"So, can you tell me what Anthony made you do? Or, what have you done for Anthony to harm me?" Lea had been concealing herself extremely well in front of her, not even doing anything extraneous. So, Kisa had no way of knowing what Lea had actually done to her. But, whatever she asked, Lea just shook her head.

"I'm sorry, Kisa. I can't tell you." Kisa lowered her eyes and drew her hand back.

Kisa pursed her lips and then whispered, "He approached you and probably just wanted to use you to go after me. He may not love you at all. So, I'm asking you again, do you really refuse to leave him?" Lea shook her head with no hesitation, just as she did earlier. "I can't leave him."

"Well then," Kisa smiled with disappointment. She gazed at Lea's pale cheeks and reddened eyes and slowly said, "Then, we aren't friends anymore."

"Kisa..."

"I have things to do. I'm leaving now. You can go home by yourself after you're done eating, since it is not far from where you live. It's just a short distance," Kisa said, standing up and walking off.

As she was leaving, Lea called out to her. Kisa had a moment of hesitation. She thought that Lea had realized that Anthony was not the right man for her. She did not expect Lea to talk about something else.
