Chapter 1174 Don't Treat Me So Well

Adrien said to Kisa, "Jensen did so much just to replace out the truth about the fire back then. Then, something like this happened to him just because he was trying to protect the warden. He wouldn't have done everything for you and ruined his whole life if he knew that you'd get back together with Gilbert.

"I just feel like whatever he's done isn't worth it. Just think about what I said," he continued.

Adrien left before Gilbert could make his way to them.

Kisa stood there in place.

It was true that she was getting too comfortable in Gilbert's bubble and that was ironic.

Gilbert glared at Adrien's back and asked, "Why is Mr. Tanner here? What did he say to you? Why does your face look so weird?"

"It's nothing."

Kisa replied flatly and went to the middle of the set.

Gilbert grabbed her arm. "Have some water first."

"It's fine. I don't feel like drinking."

"Just have a little bit, here..."

"I said I don't want to drink!"

Kisa was very annoyed by how Gilbert forced her. She raised her arm and shrugged his hand off.

The cup of water in the man's hand spilled all over the floor.

Kisa opened her mouth as if she was about to say something but changed her mind in the end.

Gilbert tightened his grip on the empty paper cup, and his lower jaw became very tense because of how furious he felt.

Kisa gazed at him and said sarcastically, "Actually, you're not supposed to treat me so well."

She could not live with how well he treated her, and how comfortable she was becoming.

How well Gilbert treated her had brought her endless contradictions and guilt.

Gilbert suppressed his anger and kept quiet. Then, he turned around and sat on the chair in the visiting area.

Kisa looked away from him and strode toward the director.

The paper cup in Gilbert's hand went out of shape.

Gilbert laughed at himself.

'It seems like she thinks it's a sin for me to treat her well now.'

Gilbert and Kisa did not talk to each other for the next few days.

They did not interact with each other at all despite sleeping in the same bed. Gilbert still treated her as well as before, but he did everything silently.

Kisa did not let these things bother her and fully concentrated on her work.

Three days later, her show was finished filming smoothly.

However, she had not met Jolina in a few days.

She remembered that when she checked the director's shift schedule, she saw Jolina's name appearing in the last scene.

Jolina was supposed to be in the scene as a servant to the female lead while both leads got married.

However, somebody else had replaced her when the time came to film the last scene.

Jolina was a person who took her job very seriously. It was impossible for her to be absent from work for no reason. 'Did something bad happen?'

Kisa took her phone out and gave Jolina a call when she was getting changed.

But even after Kisa called her twice, Jolina did not pick up.

Just as Kisa was about to give up, she suddenly received a text message from Jolina.

Kisa quickly opened the text message.

[Dear Kisa, something happened with my family, so I went back to take care of it. Don't worry about me.]

'Dear Kisa?1

Kisa looked that the text message confusedly and felt a little strange.

Jolina had never addressed her this way before, and she suspected that another person instead of Jolina herself sent the text message to her.

As she was lost in thought, she noticed someone at the door.

It was Gilbert.

He did not look at her or call her name. Instead, he leaned on the door quietly.

Kisa tried to hide her curiosity away and quickly got changed. Then, she walked toward him.

"You should go back for now. I have something else to do."
