Chapter 1233 The Woman In the Wheelchair

Kisa immediately stood up and looked in that figure's direction.

There were not many people in the backyard, and the lights were dim.

Kisa could see several cobblestone paths not far away from her and they all led to the other side. of the yard.

There were some rockeries and a stone pavilion there Kisa looked closely and found out there seemed to be a few low cabins around the pavilion.

The figure was walking on one of the cobblestone paths.

Kisa stared at the figure for a while before she could confirm that it was the young man whom she had bumped into on the plane.

She was worried about not being able to meet him again, yet he appeared in front of her unexpectedly

She thought about the crystal pendant, and her eyes sparkled Then, she stood up and followed.

that young man.

It was a quiet night.

The moonlight shone on the cobblestone path.

Kisa dared not to get too close to him, and she kept a rather long distance between them.

Fortunately, the backyard was kind of empty, and she could still see where the young man was going despite being far away from him.

Kisa only hurried along after him after that young man went behind the rockery.

"Aunt, I came to visit you."

A woman was sitting in a wheelchair behind the rockery.

Her face was pale, and she looked like she was in her forties. However, her eyes looked very sharp. One could tell how charming she used to be in her younger day regardless of her current

age.

The woman was staring into blank space, looking mournful.

A smile only appeared on her face when she heard Arthur's voice.

I'm back."

"Hey. "Arthur sat down opposite her and moved the food from the tray to the stone table. Then, he smiled at the woman, "Aunt, it's grandpa's birthday today and there are so many people in the front yard. It's a shame that you prefer to be in a quieter place."

The woman patted his head. I'm glad that you're having fun. I have trouble walking, so it's better for me to stay here alone."

Arthur looked at her legs and a gloomy expression appeared on his face.

After that, he put on a smile and pushed the food on the table toward her, "Don't worry, aunt. Even though you can't join everyone in the front yard, I brought you a lot of delicious food. Have a taste." "Sure. Arthur, you're so nice." The woman smiled. She grabbed one of the pastries and took a bite.

Then, she said to Arthur in a way as if she was reproving him, "Sigh. I told you to study at a university here, yet you insisted on going to Calthon. I can't even see you when I want to."

"It's no big deal. I can always come back to visit you." Arthur pulled up the blanket on the woman's lap for her with a bright and handsome smile/

Kisa stood in the dark and watched everything curiously.

Who is that woman in the wheelchair? Arthur called her his aunt Could she be Mr Mullen Sr s daughter?

However, nobody really talked about his daughter

Kisa would have thought that Mr. Mullen Sr only had sons if it were not for what she had just seen with her own eyes.

"Aunt, why do you always like to stay in this backyard? Why don't I bring you out to have some fun now that I'm back?"

The woman shook her head. "It's fine I like to be alone, and I don't feel like meeting other people. I'm already very happy that you came to see me."

Kisa stared at the woman in the wheelchair curiously. Is this woman injured?"

She just like there was some kind of decaying and desolate energy surrounding that woman.

Suddenly. Kisa felt chills running down her spine as she was still curiously observing that woman.

She felt as if somebody was staring at her viciously, or as if someone was holding a sharp knife against her back

A chill ran down her spine and her scalp tingled.

Kisa heard somebody yelling as soon as she was about to turn around to have a look.

"Who's that?""
