Chapter 1527

Kisa's eyes widened.

"Jensen?" Peter managed a faint smile.

"Yeah, surprising, right? Turns out Jensen's been awake for a while now. Mia betrayed you because of him. After all, David is his father. His voice was laced with mixed emotions as he spoke. But Kisa had no energy to dig deeper or feel resentment toward Jensen.

Her concern was immediate: "Are they okay?"

Peter looked down, chuckled sadly, and finally stood up, speaking softly.

"You should focus on yourself first."

As he turned to leave, Kisa asked quickly, "Why did you bring me here?"

Peter replied, "If you want to keep your unborn child safe, stay here quietly."

And with that, he was gone.

Though Kisa was baffled by Peter's actions, her main worry was for Gilbert and Madalyn's safety.

David, who had protected her and Madalyn in the end, had shown his true colors.

She wondered why Jensen had pretended to be in a vegetative state for so long.

As she recovered, Kisa's body remained weak, especially her arms, which had been badly injured by the explosion's debris.

Jolina took care of her daily, tending to her wounds with care.

Despite her worry for Gilbert and the questions swirling in her mind, her physical condition forced her to stay with Jolina to heal.

Jolina's parents were around, both incredibly kind and warm.

Jolina also had a younger brother who was polite and thoughtful.

The village was small and peaceful, with friendly residents and a tranquil, natural environment.

If not for her burdens, it would have been the perfect place to heal.

One day, Kisa used Jolina's phone to call Gilbert, but the number remained unreachable.

She tried calling Kelvin and Davian, too, but to no avail.

She scoured the internet for news about the Kooper family and the explosion, but it was as if everything had been a dream that vanished without a trace. She felt cut off from their world, unable to re-enter.

Time flew, and two months passed in a heartbeat.

As spring arrived, life bloomed anew, and the village's scenery became even more captivating.

The breeze seemed softer than ever.

Kisa's injuries had mostly healed, leaving only scars on her arms.

One day, Kisa gently touched her growing belly, thinking about discussing her departure with Jolina.

But then, a flash of light caught her eye-Jolina was holding a bracelet identical in color and shape to her mother's.

Kisa approached Jolina quickly, her voice trembling, "Where did you get this bracelet?"

Jolina, looking puzzled, replied, "Peter gave it to me."

"Peter?"

"Yes, he said it's the only thing his mother left him, and he's worn it since childhood." Jolina's expression became troubled.

"As you know, there's a lot of pain and terrible history between Peter and me.

I couldn't accept this gift, but he insisted."

Struggling to contain her excitement, Kisa asked, "What do you feel for him now?"

Jolina shook her head, answering with difficulty, I don't know.I used to be terrified of him, and I hated him. But now, he seems different. I know I shouldn't have feelings for a man who tormented and forced himself on me, but he really has changed.I don't know how to face him.I wanted to give this bracelet back to him....."

"It's okay,"

Kisa gently patted Jolina's shoulder, reassuring her with a soft whisper, "Don't worry. Just follow your heart."

As she gazed at the bracelet in Jolina's hand, recalling the birthmark on Peter's chest, a surge of emotion welled up inside her. Out of nowhere, they heard frantic voices calling out, Something's wrong! Something's wrong!"

"
