Chapter 1538

Peter tried to call him 'Dad' but could not replace the words. Instead, he resorted to 'Uncle Adrien'.

David had been caring and loving toward him since he was just 'Uncle Adrien'.

And he knew that David's acquisition of the Kooper family fortune had been all for him. So, he alone embraced David's tombstone, weeping like an abandoned child. Jensen observed him, his eyes void of emotion.

He did not shed a single tear throughout the entire funeral.

After the service, Peter attempted to take Kisa with him, but Jensen intervened.

Peter's anger erupted, and he shouted at Jensen, "What the hell do you want? You drove our dad to his grave. Do you want her to meet the same fate?"

Jensen remained silent, instead instructing his bodyguards to escort Kisa back to the Kooper residence.

As they left, Kisa saw Jensen depart with Peter, though she had no clue where they were headed.

Worried for Peter, she called him repeatedly after returning to the Kooper residence, but no one answered. She tried Jensen too, but with the same result.

Anxiously, she waited until she heard a car arriving at midnight.

Rushing downstairs, she found Jensen stumbling in, reeking of booze.

"Where is Peter?" she demanded, her voice shaking.

Jensen glared at her and suddenly laughed.

"Why is it that everyone only cares about him?"

"He is my brother!"

"But he is mine too. Do you really think I would hurt him?"

Jensen staggered toward her, his face flushed from alcohol.

Kisa retreated, frightened.

"It's late. I'm going to bed."

As she turned to leave, Jensen grasped her wrist, yanking her into his embrace.

"I've lost everything..."

His voice was heavy, his eyes brimming with sorrow.

"Even my deadbeat dad is gone. Is this my punishment? Am I destined to be left alone in this world?"

"Stop it, Jensen.Let me go."

Jensen held her tightly, causing her stomach to ache.

Fearing for the baby, she struggled fiercely.

Her resistance only fueled his fear of losing her.

Desperate to keep her close, he clung to her, as if attempting to merge her into his very being.

Kisa, terrified, screamed for help.

"Let go of my mom!"

In that instant, Blake charged down the stairs, furiously pounding on Jensen.

"Let go of my mom, Dad! You're hurting her!"

But Jensen had lost control.

With a swift motion, he sent Blake flying.

Kisa screamed, wrenching herself free from Jensen's grip.

But as she lunged toward Blake, she was yanked back with brute force.

In the struggle, she tripped and fell, her abdomen slamming into a nearby coffee table.

A sharp, searing pain surged through her belly, and she felt something wet seeping out. "Mommy!"

Her eyes widened in terror, accompanied by Blake's anguished cries.

Jensen stared blankly at the blood pooling between her legs.

In that moment, his world turned gray, never to see brightness again.

The ambulance arrived swiftly.

Cradling her bloodied body, Jensen sobbed like a lost child.

"I'm sorry.I'm so sorry..."

Kisa clung to his shirt, tears streaming down her face as she called out for Gilbert, over and over.

As she was rushed into the emergency room, he frantically pulled out his phone and dialed Gilbert's number.
