Evan’s fists balled in anger. So is that why they are torturing her? Because she refused to go against the law? Because she refused to give in and fought against evil? How despicable. He was not going to let them win. He felt an unknown desire to save her from their evil clutches. He felt anger bubbling inside his veins. He was on the verge of transforming but stopped himself from loosing his control.

The three lads listened to the bandits attentively. They seemed to be excited about something.

One of them lifted up something that shimmered in the moonlight. “Look at this. The princess’s necklace. I left that bitch out cold on the floor. It was a good thing she decided to leave the ball room alone. I was wondering how I could trap that woman in my trap but she came on her own.”

The other guy chuckled in amusement. “I wonder why”

“Pfft. She cried in the bathroom thinking that she was alone. She was too lost in her own thoughts to notice me. When she did, it was too late for her to save herself.” He glared at the tied up girl. “But because of you I almost got caught. If you had been there, you could have distracted that other girl long enough for me to do my work. I will kill you Elle. Then I won’t have to put up with you”

David and the other’s exchanged surprised looks. It was them. They found him! And Carol cried? But why? Another painful cry from the girl filled the atmosphere, making the three boys look at them in anger. They were beating her using some kind of a whip. With each whip, she cried in agony.

“It would have been better if you just helped. See! We have got what we wanted anyway.” He taunted her.

“I don’t care! I won’t help you to betray the kingdom!” she screamed with what of the energy was left in her.

But soon she was completely silenced by the other guy as he used his claws to scratch her face.

“I will claw your heart out bitch!” he shrieked and started to choke her.

“Get them!” Evan shouted and attacked as he transformed. Nolan too transformed and attack the other vampire. They fought while David silently crept up to the tied up girl and untied her. She was now completely unconscious. David carefully placed her on the ground and checked for a pulse. He sighed in relief. At least she was still alive.

David watched them fight. Finn was on the edge. He wanted to rip the useless vampires limb by limb. But his vampire friends obviously didn’t need help. Nolan and Evan were clearly winning. But the bandits had somehow managed to raise an alert. Soon, members of their gang started to appear out of no where.

David too joined the fight, careful not to unmask his scent or show any of his wolf features. But soon, there were too many bandits. The boys were clearly out numbered and they were going to loose. Soon, all three of them were overpowered by them. Each of them were held by four of the bandits.

“Well, well. His royal Highness Prince Evan, the useless trainer and a human?” The one seemed to be their leader mocked.

“I see you came to look for me. Because I stole this from you precious princess.” He held her necklace high up in the air.

“You know what? You royals are greedy. Why would you need this anyway. You shouldn’t have come after this.” He smirked as he looked directly at Evan, who was struggling to break free.

“Perhaps I should have taken her with me. Then I could have had some fun with her. You know. She is a pure lady….” he hissed. Evan’s anger skyrocketed. He grunted and growled in anger. Nolan too was fuming. David on the other hand was loosing his battle to keep Finn a secret.

“Let me at him. Let me rip him to pieces!” Finn kept growling in his mind. He seemed to be more concerned about Carol than exposing his identity. David closed his eyes, trying to hold back. But when the bandit expressed his interest in Carol, he lost it.

When he opened his eyes his eyes were glowing red. His aura changed, shocking everyone around him. And his muscles bulged. He didn’t shift completely, but his claws were out and his teeth were bared when he roared powerfully.

The ground shook by it’s force. The bandits who held on to him were either thrown in to a nearby tree or their hearts were ripped out. The ones who held on to Nolan and Ethan didn’t meet a nice ending. Their hearts were either impaled by anything David could get his hands on or ripped out of their chests and crushed right in front of their comrades.

Nolan and Evan stared in shock as the boy who they thought was human was half transformed into something else. David knew they were gaping at him. He threw one bandits dead body and growled at his vampire friends.

“Don’t just stand there. Kill them.”

David went on a killing spree and killed each and every vampire bandit who had witnessed his real self. Those who tried to run were chased and killed on the spot by the trio. Not a single one managed to escape. The last one was the one who thought he could have “fun” with the vampire princess.

“Please….have mercy….” he begged. Nolan held him from behind while Evan and David sneered at him.

David smirked. “You know what? I think I want to have some fun with you. And the king would love to have your head at his feet.” He hissed. Ethan and Nolan’s were faces contorted in anger and eyes red with fury.

“Would you like to do the honours Evan?” David growled.

“With pleasure.” Evan extended his claws and chopped off his head before impaling a huge stake like branch in his useless heart. The body turned to ash while the head remained. David saw the necklace lying on the dirt. He picked it up and gave it to Evan.

“This was what they wanted?” Evan whispered. David had shifted back and waited for his friends to say something. He knew that it was risky to expose himself like that. But this time, he had no choice.

Evan and Nolan just stared at him, their faces void of emotions.

“Well…aren’t you going to say something? Or ask anything?” David sighed.

“You lied didn’t you?” Evan said, his voice harsh when he spoke. He maintained eye contact. “I want to hear an explanation David. Had I not spoken to you before I would have thought that you are here to spy on us. But I have a feeling that you have a good reason to do what you did.”

David let out a humourless laugh. “You want to hear my full story? Ok. I will tell you. You guys already know how I was treated by my family. By family I mean to say pack. My mother died at child birth, I was called a curse, I was bullied and rejected by my own pack. And after dad and grandpa died, grandma was the only one who supported me. But on the day I found my…… uh….. I mean grandma was murdered and they framed me. They wanted to confine me in the dungeons but I need to replace who is the real killer. So I fled. I want to get revenge and I will. But first I needed to get help. When I came here I had to mask my scent because….”

“We are in war.” Evan finished for David. David’s lips paused in a grim line. That was right. They were in war. He had learnt that something was stolen by the wolves, though he had no idea what it was.

“Sadly yes. Though I don’t understand why.” David whispered.

“You guys stole our precious……..” Nolan was interrupted by Evan before he could complete the sentence. David looked at the friends he ever had. He stared in to their eyes, where lots of emotions were held. He saw hurt and shock. Yes. David hid his true self from them. But he had a good reason. But one thing was certain. He didn’t want to loose such great friends. They treated him with respect and love, despite the fact they thought he was a powerless human.

David kneeled in front of them. “Look. I don’t know what was stolen or why. I didn’t even know that they stole something from you before I came here. What I know is, they are traitors. They are treacherous and heartless. I won’t say that they will not steal but I promise you, I don’t have a part in that. I am wronged by them as much as you all. Please. You guys and carol are the only friends I’ve ever had. Other than my dad and grandparents, you guys are the only support I’ve ever had.” David gulped.

“If you want to tell the truth to king Richard, it is ok. I won’t mind. But believe me, I don’t want to cause any trouble.” He told them.

Evan sighed and made David stand up. “Hey. I believe you. I know you are telling the truth. I wouldn’t have believed you if I didn’t know what kind of a person your are. But you are not like that. I can tell. But I honestly don’t thing uncle will take it nicely.” He said.

Nolan nodded. “Yeah. He won’t. He is very pissed off at the wolves.”

“Let’s keep this a secret.” Nolan suggested. Ethan smiled. “yup” and held out his hand. Nolan held it and gestured David to do the same.

David was smiling when he held on to their hands. “Our secret.” Ethan promised.

“But tell me David. I thought werewolves were weaker than us. And does this mean that silver and wolfs bane doesn’t make you weak?” he asked.

David smirked. “I actually am a lycan. I am immune to all that. And lycans are stronger than vampires.” He told them.

“So you mean you could have attacked us and we wouldn’t have been able to stop you before you caused immense loss?” Nolan questioned.

David just chuckled in response. Finn snickered in his mind. “What will they say if they see me fully morphed?” Finn muttered.

David sighed. “What do you think Carol will say if she found out?”

Evan and Nolan shrugged. “We aren’t telling anyone. If Carol is going to replace out she will have to replace out on her own. Perhaps when time comes she will.”

“Oh and David. I think Carol has it hot for you.” Evan smirked. David smiled sadly. He too felt attracted to her. But he didn’t want her to be conflicted. He wanted her to have a good life with her beloved.

“But she will replace her beloved soon.” David answered. “And I also had a mate. But she rejected me and f****d my ex-best friend.” David said.

“What?!!!” Nolan and Evan gasped in shock.

David’s sad smile answered them. “Oh my God David. Don’t worry David. You will replace someone better. She certainly doesn’t deserve you.” Ethan said as he put his hands around David’s shoulder.

Just then the girl who was lying unconscious started to grunt and g***n. Her g****s were weak and soft. She was beaten up real bad. But being a vampire meant that she would heal soon. The bruises and wounds on her body were healing already, but she clearly was too weak to stand up.

“Let’s take her to the palace. I think she needs medical attention.” David said.
