“You’re a fucking fool for rejecting your mate.”

That had to be the hundredth time that one of these male (and a few females) Alphas and leaders of various supernatural packs and covens who reminded me of my decision to reject the runt-turned-human named Carson Hadley and that I needed to rethink everything if I wanted to get back my status as either a warrior or Beta. And I was starting to get on my last nerves.

“I don’t see why you’re too stubborn to see that having an omega can balance you out and keep your sanity in check,” spat a red-headed merman from the Sea Breeze Mermen Coven of Los Angeles, his green eyes glowing in anger. “And that male omega was already threatened with death with so many of your fallen and exiled followers.”

“They were right to treat him with so much hatred,” I only said, keeping my voice firm as I ignored the growls and hushed voices of anger from the others, my own family included. “And anyone can see that omegas are nothing but spineless dead-weights that needed to be erased from the earth altogether.”

“You fool,” hissed a beautiful blonde female Alpha from Tennessee, standing up from her chair, but immediately subdued by her female omega mate. “You dare disrespect the way the Moon Goddess created all wolves to be equal in her eyes.”

I shrugged, holding back a laugh. “The Moon Goddess must be a messed-up broad to create omegas to be equal. If anything, they’re meant to be slaves and sacrificial lambs.”

King Iain and King Archer, the parents of the runt in question, just glared me down as Fianna stood up and pointed her manicured finger at me. “You still have time,” she said. “Make Carson’s life much easier and accept him for who he is and as your mate. Why fight fate for your pride?”

“Because I’m a fucking realist,” I said, stepping away from the dining-room table of pro-Carson idiots. “I don’t do omegas and I DEFINITELY don’t do male omegas at all. If anything, Carson should be dead by now.”

The whole table of Alphas and leaders with my family and the werewolf council shouted after me as I left the dining hall and headed for outside where a few omegas were running around with doing errands. Just the sight of them made me want to shift into Anubis and kill them as myself with my own bare hands. But since every member of the council was still here and staying around until I accepted the runt, I knew that killing anyone was still a no-no on their list. And the punishment for harming omegas was met with the loss of one’s wolf or death, if not both.

As for Carson? Well, he’d better pray that he’d die by Friday, because I was still not accepting him.

“Regan Zallenda?”

I whipped around the see eight powerful men from each of their shifter/supernatural worlds- all of them from LA: Gavin Arundel from the Nightrose Pack, Ferdinand Odair of the Red Spade werecat pack, Dominic Gauthier of the Bloodstone vampire coven, Alain Greynier of the Moonbeam mermen coven, Francesco Emerson of the Silver Wings angel dynasty, Quentin Santiago of the Red Horn demon coven, Nicholas Van Silva of the Flaming Paw hellhound pack, and the wise yet lethal Zechariah Cartier of the Rainbow Victory dragon community. All of them were dressed in the colors of gold and green and they were not happy to see me. “Who wants to know?”

“It’s him,” Quentin said, giving me a once over as his black wings fluttered around in anger. “You, sir, are one gigantic idiot to let such a treasure of an omega get into a coma after rejecting him and kicking out of the pack.”

“Look, man,” I said, getting angry at all this talk over someone who I don’t think is my equal. “I did what needed to be done and I need a strong FEMALE to make my wife and lead this pack to greatness.”

“You twat,” Gavin spat, clenching his fists as I saw him trying to calm his wolf. “Your mate is dying and you’re still thinking that he got what he deserved?! It’s no wonder that he did that Soul Conversion to forget all about you and tried to be a good husband and father to the fallen Gia and her late daughters. They were ready to be a family and he was ready to let you go before that drunken idiot human killed the ladies and put your mate in a coma. Unless you want him to die, you need to be a real man and accept him- make him feel like he is wanted.”

“I said no and I meant it,” I replied, getting ready to punch these fools to oblivion. “I want a real mate and no omega or faggot will do it for me. And as for Carson, I think that he’ll need to hear it from me that I will never, EVER accept him and that he needs to be put out of his misery.”

The guys were snarling in anger, Alain grabbing his golden trident and pointing at me. “You plan to kill him?” he said in a thick French accent. “You do that, then you’re a dead man.”

I smiled widely. “At least the other omegas will get the message,” I drawled happily. “Maybe after I off the human runt, I’ll kill my family and all the other sympathizers, have the omegas killed as well, and take my rightful place to the throne as the REAL alpha. And my first rule as the leader as the pack: kill every omega in this world so only Alphas and Betas live.”

“That’s what I thought,” Fianna said, snapping her fingers. “Did you get all of that, Your Graces?”

My smile faded as I saw the FURIOUS faces of King Iain and King Archer with my sister following suit. “We got it all,” said Ciara. “Guards! Carry my brother to the dungeon and do as you wish to beat the crap out of my brother. Regan Zallenda, you are now a traitor to all supernatural beings and a threat to the comatose Carson Hadley.”

And as guards came around to take me to the dark dungeon, I knew what I needed to get done: kill Carson Darren Hadley as a way to be free from this madhouse. Then, take my place as the REAL Alpha King. They’ll see. They’ll all see.
