Kiefer P.O.V

“Little Sis is just fine.” My mate said hugging her brother affectionately. A small smile broke onto my face. Her happiness is my happiness and seeing her so happy to see her friends and brother warm my heart. It was really a good idea to keep their visit a surprise for her. I knew it would make her happy. Especially since I have not gotten to spend time with her much lately. They have been many rouge attacks lately and I have attended many alpha meetings. Along with attending the alpha meetings couple with some of my duties as Alpha, I have not spent any time with my mate.

Since we completed the mate process and are fully mated. Our bond is much stronger, and I can sense her emotions much clearly. Thou she does not show it, I know she is sad we have not spent much time together. It breaks my and my wolf heart our mate is sad, so to make things up to her I purposely kept Max and the others arrival from her, knowing she’ll be ecstatic to see them, also I have this really amazing date plan out for us tonight. If were not for the other Alpha’s need to go back to their mates I will not be able to have a date with my mate. I guess they can also sense their mate’s loneliness and cannot stay away for long. After today it will be a while until we hold a next meeting.

“We should get going.” I said glancing at my watch. The guys nod their heads. I walk up to my mate. “I’ll see you later tonight.” I winked and then k**s her on the cheek. She blushed and I could not help smirking. I saw glancing at Lily and looked only to see Ryan giving her a k**s. Ewww. I thought, I really do not need to see my cousin kissing a guy even if he is her mate.

Shaking my head, sparing once last glance to my mate I head out. Soon the guys follow. Since we are all heading to the same location and my vehicle is larger, we decide to carpool, with me doing the driving.

Though I have been to numerous meeting, this will be the guys first meeting. Max became the new Alpha of Moon Cres pack and he was busy to attend any of the meetings until now. Ryan and Jace even thou they pack just consist of four persons and located in the city. They still want to contribute to help.

This was great I thought and if my suspicion is true, we will need all the help we can get.

“So, Kiefer any thoughts on the previous meeting?” Max asks.

“Yea it will be a lot of help if you give us an update or heads up.” Ryan added.

“There’s nothing much to tell.” I answer honestly remembering last night meeting. “So far the other Alphas haven’t gotten any good handle on the rouges yet. So, we haven’t come up with any strategy yet.” I frown.

With a room full of Alphas, it was hard to discuss any strategy on how to stop the rouges. Sometimes it seems they are more concern fighting for dominance in the room than the current issue, and because of that we hardly get anywhere and hence so many meetings. “Hopefully when I point out my suspicion, we can get somewhere.” I said.

“What suspicion?” Max asks.

I glanced at Max and then at Jace and Ryan from in the mirror. “You guys read the report right. What are your thoughts?” I ask.

There was a pause for a short time and then Jace spoke up. “Base on the reports. These attacks are not random. At first it looks random, but it is not. They seem to mainly target female wolfs, particularly mated ones.” He said.

Looking in my mirror, I stared at him for a few seconds before returning my focus on the road and I nod my head approvingly. I have never really interacted much with Jace. I honestly thought we was young and childish but turns out he got a sharp mind and great observation skills.

“That weird since rouges attacks are mainly random and they usually go for male wolfs like themselves. The reports say all the attacks identify the rouges as male wolves.” Ryan said frowning.

“That being said. These attacks are too well organized. There’s also a pattern.” Max added.

“You guys are right. They are so many things wrong with these attacks. Rouges are usually wild and attacks disorderly, but everything seems to be to well organize. I suspect we are not just dealing with rouges but a pack of rouges lead by an Alpha.”

“Alpha? Are you serious?” Max asks

“Yes.” I answered. My hands grip the staring wheel. I got an uneasy feeling that I just cannot shake. My mind kept thinking about all the attacks. Even if it is a pack lead by an Alpha, I kept wondering what is they aim? Why attack multiple pack at once. It does not add up.

The rest of the ride was silent. Not an awkward silent, each of us were just consume by our own thoughts. Before I knew it, I parked my car amount some other vehicles. Looks like some of the other Alphas are already here. Good, I thought them being here early means the meeting can end on time for once.

We got out the car. “Wow” Jace said looking up at the building.

“I know right. You can close your mouth now.” I said smirking. I had the same look when I first lade eyes on the building. “History had it that the grate Alpha king had built this place for all Alphas as a meeting place.” I explain as I stare at the huge gray build that look like it was carve from a story book of medieval castles. It was perfect, and the walls were huge. Every stone was even and square as if those who built it were set on perfection. I summarize even if I shift, I still would not be able to see inside the courtyard. Though the outside may look like from the 11th century, inside is as modern as it could get.

I looked at my companions “you guys ready?” I asked They not their heads and we all walk inside together.
