Chapter 7

Fallon’s POV

B***d Claw Pack

What happened? I started the day out so well. I got my hair done, and I looked stunning. I knew today was Katrina’s birthday and I could not wait for her to replace out that Timothy was her mate, and that he would be rejecting her on her birthday. It was priceless, and he didn’t even realize how I had planned it out. Alpha James thought that it was an excellent idea on my part as well.

I have hated her for so long. Ever since she arrived here at B***d Claw, she has captivated him. He stopped hanging out with me and started wanting to just be around her. I could not figure out why. Katrina is just a regular girl. Plain, there really was nothing special about her. I could not figure out what Timothy felt was so great about Katrina. I remember when I followed him when he went out to the south lake with Katrina, her Aunt, and Luna Victoria. I just wanted to go with them too, and I already had my swimsuit on under my clothes. I was going to make sure that Katrina knew that he was mine, and back off. I was just going to join them once we got there, but then I saw him and Katrina in the woods together and then him kissing her.

I couldn’t breathe because I was so angry about it. How dare she just come here and take my mate? I already had my sights on him, and even if we didn’t end up true mates, I was not going to let some stupid wolf-less girl take what I already knew was mine. I decided from that time on, that I would make sure that I would end up with Timothy, no matter what it took. My dad was Beta, so it wasn’t hard to bully the other she-wolves into complying with leaving him alone. He would occasionally date, or sleep with another girl, but I made sure that they had to keep their distance after that. I kept myself in his line of sight and made sure I took care of him each time we slept together.

I even thought I had gotten her taken care of too. I saw a picture of her at the mall one day and approached the man underneath the signage. I wanted to get a better look at the poster. It was clearly a picture of Katrina, but the name on the poster was not Katrina, it was another girl’s name. That was really weird. I looked at it again and frowned and now the man underneath it was looking at me.

“Do you recognize her?” He asked me.

“Kind of, but that is not her name. She came to our pack about 4 months ago, with her Aunt. But her name is Katrina, not the name on this sign”, I told him.

I saw him straighten up in his chair and look at me with interest and said, “When did you say that she arrived in your pack?”

“She arrived 4 months ago, like 4 months and a week ago. I don’t know why you would be interested. She is just a plain girl, she is not attractive at all”, I told him.

“She does not hold a candle to you at all. What is your name young one?” the man asked me.

I preened at his compliment, as he was a handsome wolf. I grinned up at him and said, “Fallon”. He smiled back at me and said, “Fallon”, letting roll off his tongue and I blushed. He was really cute, and I didn’t mind talking to him.

“What pack do you live in, Fallon?” He asked me with a smile on his face.

“I live in the B***d Claw pack in Mill Creek. My father is the Beta there”, I told him proudly. My father was important, so by being a close relationship to him, I was important too.

“On a scale from 1 to 10, how sure are you that Katrina looks like my missing friend here,” he asked me, and then pointed to the poster with her face on it.

“A 10. She has the same blonde hair and green eyes. She has that mark on her face too, a beauty mark on the right side of her face. She has the same light freckles across her nose and cheeks, and she is my height of 5’4”. We had just been measured at the end of the school year, in P.E. I am sure it is her, she must have a twin though or something because that is not her name though”, I told him, frowning back at the poster again.

“Fallon, you have just made my day beautiful. We have a reward to help us try to replace our friend, so take this, you have earned it” he said as he handed me folded bills. I blushed at such a handsome man telling me I was beautiful, but I already knew I was. My parents tell me that all the time. He took the poster down, folded the stand and the chair, and left the area smiling. I looked at the money in my hand. It was $240.00. I am so glad I am at the mall now. I had a great day going around and buying whatever I wanted that day. I felt like a princess.

Two months later, when our Luna was killed, along with Katrina’s Aunt, I saw him again. He was one of the men that Alpha James said had been a rogue. But I knew he wasn’t, he belonged to a pack, and he was a strong wolf. He had to have been a Gamma or something because the power had radiated off of him. I knew as soon as I saw him that he was the man from the mall that had paid me for telling him what she was. I kept my mouth shut though. Alpha James was inconsolable, and he took all his anger out on Katrina. So, it really was a win/win for me. I didn’t even tell my dad, who was convinced that Katrina was innocent, but would not go against Alpha James to protect her. The best part was that it tore Timothy away from Katrina better than I ever could.

Two months later, when our Luna was killed, along with Katrina’s Aunt, I saw him again. He was one of the men that Alpha James said had been a rogue. But I knew he wasn’t, he belonged to a pack, and he was a strong wolf. He had to have been a Gamma or something because the power had radiated off of him. I knew as soon as I saw him that he was the man from the mall that had paid me for telling him what she was. I kept my mouth shut though. I still saw him watching her, but he would remind himself that she had been the reason his mom died, and he left her alone. I will NEVER tell what happened because then Alpha James would focus all his anger on me, and I am not going to sign up for that. I don’t know how he hasn’t killed her yet. I have seen what he has done to her, and she continues to just keep going. It makes NO sense at all, and I guess I will have to take matters into my own hands.

Since Alpha James won’t finish her off, I will. I went up to my room to change out of my dress and heels and put on some leggings, a t-shirt, and sneakers on. I grabbed a flashlight, and then went out the back door and followed her scent. I know that Timothy will change his mind about making me his Luna once this b***h is dead. I may not train, but I have a strong wolf and she is in agreement with me. We found our mate last year, and he was a Gamma. I want an Alpha, and I will get an Alpha. I want to be respected, and I am very attractive. I deserve it, and I am wanted by Timothy. I know he is trying to fight the bond, but that is a hard thing to do. The Gamma took it way worse than I did. As a matter of fact, that pack no longer has a treaty with us because of it.

Alpha James never knew why, they didn’t mention it when the messenger came with it, and I sure as hell was not going to tell them. I was not going to let Timothy know what I had done. He believed in the mate bond until he realized that Katrina was his mate. That pretty much did it for him, and I was glad that he stayed away from B***d Claw after that. I did not want to give their bond any kind of opportunity to grow. She didn’t deserve him, and I have had a crush on him for 10 years. I mean sure we don’t have that spark, the one that gives you the tingles when your mate touches you, and I did give my mate an opportunity to sleep with me. I mean, he was made for me, so, why not? He was good with his hands too. I bit my l*p thinking about it. But I have a certain standard of living that I am accustomed to having, and a Gamma’s salary would not be able to do it for me. It was a shame too because he was so cute. I wouldn’t mind another round with him. He accepted my rejection, and he ended up getting his stupid second chance mate. As far as I know, they are both happy about it. I realize I can’t have everything that I want, but I do keep an eye out for a guy who doesn’t need a relationship, one that is close, so I won’t be missed. Maybe a human. I just can’t mess around with someone in the pack because it will definitely get back to Timothy.

I have been following her trail, and it has gotten cold because she has been gone for a little while now. At least 20 to 25 minutes, I followed it to the pack hospital, and then it ran cold. I went all the way around the hospital and then went out to the parking area next to it. That is where she last was. Half the pack has a vehicle, and we already know who the other missing person is. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that she left with Amanda. Amanda is our age, and she has too soft a heart. I hope that she realizes that she has signed her own death warrant in doing this. She probably felt bad for her because of all the injuries over the years. I already knew the trackers had been out there, as well as some of the warriors that do searches, but I had kind of hoped I could have found her. I need her gone in the worst way.

I head back to the kitchen, and I see some of our guests are still lingering there. I recognize Alpha Heath, and his grandson, Percy, who will be taking the Ever Green pack over soon. I would have tried to date Percy, as he is really attractive, but I already know how his family is. It is well known. They are only to mate with their true mates. They know how strong it makes them as an Alpha and Luna and makes the pack stronger as well. I know his brother, Dawson, as well, but for me, Percy was the hotter of the two. He has beautiful blue eyes that are like azure blue. So deep you feel like you could swim in them. I saw him and Heath look over at me when I went back into the kitchen, and I walked over to them, as I could see that they wanted to speak to me. I was already excited by the prospect of getting to speak to Percy, one on one.

“Fallon, I am so sorry to bother you, but may I ask what happened here tonight?” Alpha Heath asked me. I could see that Percy was agitated and anxious, and I wondered why he was acting so upset.

“Nothing really. Timothy had rejected his true mate, as he didn’t want to be tied to someone who helped murder his mother. He couldn’t accept her as she had a hand in it. That is why he wanted me to be his chosen mate. It was tough on him to reject her, but it had to be done”. I told them as I wanted them to understand how truly unfit, she was to be the Luna of B***d Claw. She didn’t deserve the title. She didn’t even have a freaking wolf for Goddess sake.

I saw them both with shocked expressions and then Alpha Heath asked, “What do you mean she helped murder Luna Victoria?”

“Well, she was there with her Aunt and Luna Victoria, having a picnic at the south lake. Alpha James said that Luna Victoria never went on picnics before they arrived in our pack, and while they were having a picnic near the lake, rogues attacked and killed Katrina’s Aunt and Luna Victoria”. I told them patiently with a smile on my face. I wanted them to have a good impression of me, to show I was Luna material.

“So, she wasn’t involved in killing them? They were attacked by rogues, and this girl has been being punished ever since. For 7 years now? Is that correct?” Alpha Heath said to me, and I could feel anger rising from him, almost choking me with the power of it.

“You will have to speak to Alpha James about that. I only know what I was told Alpha Heath” I can barely get out before he lowers his anger. I take a deep breath and a step back from them. How did he figure it out so quickly? The way I phrased it was the same as we did to anyone who questioned it, and they all accepted my word or Alpha James’ word for it. Why in the hell do they even care anyway?

“What is her name? Is she still here?” Alpha Heath asked in a nicer tone. I rubbed my throat before answering him.

“No, she escaped. Another pack member helped her leave the pack”, I told them and heard them both sign in relief. What is going on here? They are acting weird, and I don’t like it.

“Do you have any idea where they may have gone? Percy asked me, and I smiled up at him. He was so much broader than Timothy was. What would I do to go a round with him? I know he saw the flash of l**t in my eyes, and he took a step back from me. I had unconsciously stepped forward towards him.

“I have no idea, Percy. She had no real friends. No one stood up for her, as they would be punished along with her. One of the nurses from the pack hospital is the one who took her out of here. Alpha James is now questioning the hospital staff, to try to get information on where she went. Alpha James is very interested in getting them both back here to the pack”, I told them, and even with making my words innocent, they saw the smirk at the end and knew that if the two women did come back to the pack, they would be hurt, or killed for daring to disobey him.
