Adam was telling Annie bedtime stories at the hotel when his phone rang unexpectedly.

"Drake the Dragon, as expected, someone's messed with Lucas," reported Black Dragon.

Black Dragon updated Adam about Lucas' whereabouts after work. He had gone to a posh bar, ordered orange juice, and got drugged by a woman. Adam nodded. "Let them try, only move in on them after they have him."

Black Dragon accepted the order.

Adam shook his head after hanging up the phone.

Was it the Camdens?

They had just held a high-profile opening ceremony for Dragon Conglomerate. Lucas had stolen the limelight, and people were speculating if the company belonged to the Hamiltons.

The Camdens were at war with the Hamiltons, so they would definitely do something about Dragon Conglomerate. Since Lucas had a target on his back now, Adam had made arrangements for Black Snake Brigade to secretly protect him. He did not expect the Camdens to do this before the day was even through.

Meanwhile, Raul was towing Lucas' Lamborghini.

Raul Jimenez worked for Enrico and was one of the Great Eight. In reality, he was the weakest of the lot, but Enrico had made Raul his bodyguard since he was very reliable. Enrico would typically assign him the dirty jobs that had to be done quietly. Among the Great Eight, Raul had the most amount of blood on his hands.

This time, Enrico had sent Raul over to secretly finish off Lucas, to avoid openly killing Lucas with his own hands.

Enrico knew Adam's true identity, so he did not want Black Snake Brigade to catch on to his involvement. Adam had once paid him a visit demanding justice for his people, and he certainly did not want history to repeat itself.

Raul drove for twenty minutes before they finally arrived at the spot he had chosen ahead of time. This was going to be a perfect traffic accident.

Firstly, the spot he had chosen was on the way to Lucas' villa. Secondly, it was located at the foot of the hill, so people hardly traveled this way, especially in the middle of the night. Thirdly, there was a river at the end of the road. He just needed to drive the Lamborghini into the barrier and push it into the river to make it seem like an accident.

Everything was going flawlessly!

"Have you taken out the camera?" asked Raul cautiously.

"Don't worry. I've already damaged it."

Raul nodded. "Get to it then."

Both his subordinates immediately towed the Lamborghini to the middle of the road and dropped the vehicle before driving away the tow truck.

One of his subordinates opened the Lamborghini door, started the engine, placed Lucas' hands on the steering wheel, and put his right foot on the gas.

"All set," the subordinate declared.

"Send him on his way then," Raul ordered.

The moment he finished his sentence, his subordinate put the car into gear and closed the door.

The Lamborghini roared loudly before charging toward the barrier and plunging into the river. Before long, the car submerged into the river completely!

Raul smiled happily. "Good job. Check the place and make sure we've left no evidence behind before we pull out. I'll get you a girl each when we're done here." His subordinates chuckled. "Thanks! The girl we sent to dope the guy was absolutely hot."

"I have to agree. She was even wearing a thong. If not for work, I would've fucked the daylights out of her tonight."

His two subordinates looked at each other before they laughed out loud.

A split second later, someone shouted from under the bridge, "Go, save him. The rest of you will take them down!"

In an instant, people jumped onto the bridge with great agility.

The smiles on the faces of Raul and his men instantly froze. They stared at the members of Black Snake Brigade who had appeared out of nowhere, flabbergasted.

"Run!" Raul roared loudly before getting into his car and attempting to make a run for it.

He was naturally no match for Black Snake Brigade. Someone lunged at him and kicked the car door. The impact broke his leg.

Raul screamed in agony before pulling out his dagger to fight back, but another agent snapped his arm.

In a matter of seconds, all of Raul's men had been apprehended!

Meanwhile, the Black Snake Brigade agents had already pulled Lucas out of the water and to the riverbank.

"He's alive and well. He simply passed out," an agent reported.

Meanwhile, at Lush Life Spa that very night.

Leroy spoke as a beautiful masseuse served him. "Mr. Moretti, Hartley Group is just a small company, so I'm almost done with them. You didn't have to come all the way over."

A man in his forties lay on the other side with another masseuse attending to him. His name was Wyatt Moretti, and he was sent by the Morettis located in the capital. He was here to take out Hartley Group. "Leroy, are you afraid I'd steal credit for this?"

Leroy cursed inwardly. You certainly got that right. I have already backed Hartley Group into a corner. Why else would you show up at a time like this unless you wanted to steal credit for it?

"Mr. Moretti, the clock is already ticking for Hartley Group, so it's just a matter of time before they are bankrupt. I'm sorry to say, we have no use for your help right now," said Leroy calmly.

Wyatt laughed and said, "My boss wants to focus on handling the Hamiltons, so he doesn't have the energy to continue messing around with Hartley Group. Don't worry. I'm just here to give you the strategy and project, you're still in charge. The moment you wipe out the Hartleys, the credit, including the company, is all yours. To be honest, the company isn't worth much anyway."

Leroy sneered and said, "Your family just wants a piece of the pie in Lisle. Even though Hartley Group is a small company, Lisle is a decent market."

Wyatt continued smiling. "That's above my pay grade. I'm just taking orders. If you have any problems, you are welcome to call your superior and check."

Leroy flushed in embarrassment and scoffed angrily.

Considering the relationships of both the families, his boss was bound to scold him if he called to check in with him.

"I don't think your plan will work. Katie isn't stupid. Her plate's full now. How could she have the time to fight for the project? It's impossible for you to make her give up her cash flow!" said Leroy firmly.

"I'll make her think that you and I are working against each other and put on a show for her," Wyatt smiled as he spoke.

"Everyone knows that the Morettis and Camdens are allies. Does she look like an idiot to you?" Leroy argued indignantly.

Wyatt asked rhetorically, "Who said anything about the Morettis being involved?"

Leroy was caught by surprise. "What's your plan?"

Wyatt smiled before he said confidently, "You'll replace out tomorrow. When the time comes, we can take down the company in one fell swoop."

Leroy frowned instinctively. "Really? Is it going to be that easy?"

The morning wind was cold, and the weather was foreboding.
