Return Of The Prodigy
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 49

Katie led Giselle into the meeting room.

Without much suspicion, both sides smoothly signed the contract. Regarding some prices and details, Giselle didn't care at all; most of her gaze was fixed on Adam.

If it weren't for Adam, she truly didn't know what her fate would be.

After hearing Edgar's wails from the other side of the door, she was even happier that she had managed to meet Adam. She owed him a huge favor, and she would have a hard time repaying it.

Outside the conference room, Edgar was still kneeling. His voice had already become hoarse from all the screaming, and his eyes were bloodshot. Coupled with his unkempt hair and snot, he looked like a mentally ill person who belonged in a psychiatric ward. Two security guards approached him and said, "Mr. Thatcher, our CEO requires your presence."

Edgar did not even listen to them and continued with his plea, "Dear, I'm sorry... Ms. Hartley, I'm sorry... Sir, I'm sorry..."

The two security guards looked at each other and shook their heads. They crouched down and grabbed Edgar, directly dragging him to the CEO's office.

In the office, Peter had finished changing his bloodstained clothes. He had thrown his old suit aside and put on a white set.

You two can leave."

After sending away the two security guards, Peter turned to look at the haggard and forlorn man before him. He wondered, How did Edgar end up like this?

Peter could not wrap his head around the situation. "Stop crying. You're a grown man, why are you acting like a little bitch? If you don't want to live anymore, just go kill yourself!"

With the last sentence, all hell broke loose.

Die?

This word suddenly stimulated Edgar. He stood up suddenly and roared, "Yes, I want to die! My company is gone, my wife and children are gone, what's the point of living?"

Peter was taken aback. Damn, was it this easy to manipulate him? Without any struggle at all? This wasn't what he wanted.

"Hehe!" Peter sneered, gritted his teeth, and said, "Is this your choice? Enduring humiliation and choosing to die on your own? Don't you want revenge? Think about who made you suffer so much. Don't you hate him at all?"

"Alright, even if you want to die, you should drag your enemies down to hell with you! You can't let them off even in death!"

Edgar's eyes lit up with boundless resentment. "Yes, you're right. It's you who made me do what you said. Peter, it's all because of you... I'll drag you down to hell with me!"

Before the words could settle, Edgar lunged forward, grabbing Peter's neck with both hands and pushing him backward.

Peter stared wide-eyed, a mixture of shock and confusion on his face.

"888"

What's happening? Why does this idiot treat me like an enemy?

"You damn..."

Peter cursed loudly, kicked Edgar away, and quickly rolled to the side, lying on the ground coughing.

"Cough, cough, cough..."

With each cough, he spat out a mouthful of blood, staining the new suit in a deep red.

"You damn fool." Peter kicked Edgar again, shouting, "I did nothing wrong. Think about who took away your company? Who took away your wife and children?" Edgar's eyes became even crazier. "It's Adam, it's him!"

Peter was shocked, asking in disbelief, "Who did you say? Adam?"

"Impossible! How could a lunatic like him have the ability to take away your company? Are you crazy like him?"

Edgar insisted, "It's him, he made a call, and then all the companies cut off cooperation with me, the bank froze the funds, and the construction site was closed. It's him..."

"Impossible!" Peter once again rejected the idea, refusing to believe that the waste had such power. It must be him who called Robert, and Robert acted in secret. It must be like this. Peter's eyes turned cold, gritted his teeth, and said, "Edgar, I'll give you a chance. You haven't lost yet. I can help you make a comeback."

"As long as you do as I say, I guarantee you can not only take revenge but also get Katie."

Edgar was stunned, raising his head abruptly, "How to do it?"

Peter was about to explain in detail when the phone on the table suddenly rang.

"Mr. Hartley, please come down quickly. Many people have arrived."

Peter, puzzled, asked, "What do you mean by many people? Who's coming?"

"Mr. Mann from the Inox Group, Mr. Washington from the Watershed Group, Mr. Davidson from the Flyby Group..."

A series of names of bosses.

Peter was taken aback and asked urgently, "What are they coming for? Wait, I'll be right down."

"Wait for me here."

With a hasty word to Edgar, Peter hurried downstairs.

Downstairs, a group of bosses was crowded near the elevator waiting to go upstairs.

"Mr. Mann, Mr. Washington, Mr. Davidson... What brings you here?"

"Sorry, please let us through. We are here to sign contracts with Mr. Hartley."

"What? You... How is this possible?"

All the CEOs coldly snorted and pushed Peter aside, entering the elevator together.

Peter stood in front of the elevator door, staring wide-eyed, limbs stiff.

Two seconds later.

Puff...

Another burst of blood sprayed into the sky, and Peter once again fell straight backward. Bang!

Peter fell to the ground and bounced, staring with wide eyes, falling into a coma. "Quick, someone! Mr. Hartley is spitting blood again..."
