Return Of The Prodigy -
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 59
Edgar waved his hand, hinting to the henchmen to step out. He then locked the door and started taking off his clothes while walking toward Katie, an evil grin on his face. "This place isn't too fancy, but that doesn't matter. What matters is that there is enough time for me to enjoy your body. I'll make you happy before I slowly kill you. "Fear not, I'll try to be as ruthless as possible. A much-deserved treatment for everything you have done to me, forcing my hand and pushing me up to this point." Edgar spoke like a true madman. Seeing his crazed appearance was enough to strike fear in the hearts of those around him.
"I gave you an opportunity back then, but you didn't treasure it. Unfortunately, it's too late now. Oh, right. There is also that crazy husband of yours. I really wish I could f**k you to death in front of him. I wonder what kind of expression he would make. "Would he feel the same pain I've been feeling all this time? I guess he would. I can't wait to leave him with this life-long regret.
"Too bad that his life won't be that long. Once I'm finished with you, I'll look for an opportunity to deal with him. I'll slice his skin bit by bit while showing him today's video, savoring every moment."
Edgar turned on the camera he had long prepared and approached Katie.
"Stay away from me... Don't come over!
"You're crazy! You have lost your mind!"
Katie's eyes were filled with terror. She struggled with all her might to break free of the rope, her bound wrists and ankles began to bleed.
However, all of her efforts were in vain; the rope did not break.
Edgar licked his lips as he slowly approached Katie. He laughed like a demon and said, "You can scream as much as you want. It'll make me feel even better as I exact my revenge.
"Are you in pain? Are you afraid? Today, you're going to learn what true despair feels like."
Edgar was relishing the sweet feeling that revenge brought him, unaware that Peter would throw him under the bus at any time if the need arose.
He took out a knife and used the flat side to caress Katie's face. Then, he slowly moved it toward her chest. He was about to cut her clothes open and reveal the beautiful scenery within when a loud boom sounded from above the factory. In the next moment, something heavy fell to the ground with a thud.
The helicopter was still hovering over the roof, but Adam did not wait for the rope ladder and directly jumped down.
He had finally arrived.
In the courtyard, the criminals had already prepared their weapons; they swiftly surrounded Adam.
One of the thugs licked his lips and said with a grin. "I can't believe that the police only sent a single guy here. Are they looking down on us?"
"Stop talking nonsense and kill him. These bastards have been hunting us the whole day. We should repay them in kind."
"Heh, I'm going to chop him to pieces and feed him to the dogs."
The thugs spoke one after the other.
Adam wasted no time. He sprinted forward at terrifying speed, kicking up dust behind him. In the blink of an eye, he arrived before one of the goons.
The man thought of slashing at Adam with his knife, but before he could even raise his hand, a fist appeared before his eyes. The tremendous impact sent him reeling backward, but Adam showed no mercy and followed with another punch. In a split second, the enemy was down one man.
Nevertheless, this was just the beginning. Adam jumped up, kicking another guy in the face.
The man collapsed onto the ground, no longer breathing.
"Fuck, back away! This guy is a tough one!"
Scared out of his wits, the leader ordered a retreat.
However, Adam was too fast for them. He left afterimages behind him as he moved from one man to the other, leaving only death in his wake.
"Shit, he's too fast..."
Adam kicked up a knife that was lying on the ground and threw it at the man that had just spoken. The man was instantly nailed to the wall behind him. "Quick, run!"
"Run in different directions! This guy is not a human. He's a monster!"
The survivors lost all of their courage and fled in all directions like frightened rabbits.
Do you think I'll let you escape?
Adam moved like the wind, catching up to another criminal and kicking him in the back of the head. The man fell to the ground face-first.
"Kill them all. Don't leave anyone alive!"
As Adam gave the order, the hovering helicopter opened fire.
Rat-tat-tat!
The machine gun fired nonstop, bullets mercilessly raining down on the criminals on the ground. Blood splashed everywhere and screams resonated throughout the courtyard. Adam paid the fleeing criminals no heed and kicked the door to the building open. What he saw made him seethe with rage.
He sprinted forward and kicked Edgar away from Katie. He then leaped into the air, put his feet together, and struck Edgar in the chest.
Crack!
There was a cracking sound as Edgar's sternum was shattered to pieces. Edgar wanted to scream his lungs out, but only blood came out of his mouth.
Boom!
Edgar crashed against a wall, and he stared with eyes wide open as his lifeless body slowly dropped to the ground.
Until his last breath, he could not understand how Adam was able to replace him so quickly. He had just gotten started and did not even have the time to take his revenge.
Adam turned around and dashed over to where Katie was. He undid the ropes binding her wrists and ankles and hugged her tightly.
"Don't worry, everything's all right. I'm here now."
Katie could no longer restrain the fear and sorrow in her heart, she clung to Adam and cried her heart out.
However, she soon lifted her head and asked through sobs, "Where is Annie?"
At this time, a car was speeding eastward of Lisle.
Soon, a rumbling sound was heard from the sky. Two helicopters quickly approached, overtaking the car, and starting to hover in front of it. "Freeze!"
The thunder-like voice scared the driver out of his wits, and he slammed the brakes immediately.
Rope ladders were thrown down, and fully-armed police officers descended onto the ground, surrounding the vehicle post-haste.
"Get out of the car!" one of the police officers pointed a gun at the driver and barked.
The driver was scared senseless. He did not dare to hesitate and alighted from the vehicle right away.
As soon as the driver got out, the police officer tackled and immobilized him. In the meantime, his colleagues hurried to open the door to the rear seat.
In the rear seat was a small girl wearing a pink dress. She looked at the police officers with curious eyes.
The police officers were dumbfounded. They took out their phones and checked Annie's picture. "This is not our target!"
They immediately walked up to the driver and started interrogating him.
"Who is this girl? Where did you get these clothes?"
The driver stammered, "Sh-She is my daughter! As for the clothes, I picked them up from the sidewalk. I saw that they were new and in perfect condition, so I had my daughter wear them..." The police officers immediately understood what was going on. "Dammit, we've been fooled!"
"Tell us in detail where you picked up those clothes," demanded another police officer.
The others left the scene and started making calls.
-
Lisle's western district, inside an abandoned factory.
"Drake the Dragon, we found the car, but the person on board wasn't Annie."
Adam heard Black Dragon's report and smiled coldly. "As expected."
"Did you replace Annie? Where is she now?" asked Katie in a hurry.
"Don't worry, Annie is safe. I'll bring you to see her right away," Adam comforted her.
"Okay, let's get moving then."
At this point, Katie had forgotten all of her fears. She got up and headed for the door. However, her ankles had been bound tightly and were bleeding, so she almost stumbled when the pain kicked in. Adam hurried over, picked her up, and carried her outside.
Katie was too worried about Annie to have the time to feel embarrassed. She hugged Adam's neck and let him carry her like a princess.
However, she was stunned when they reached the courtyard. The place was full of corpses, and there were bloodstains everywhere. The mutilated corpses left her terrified; she trembled involuntarily. "Close your eyes," said Adam soothingly.
Katie followed his advice and closed her eyes, leaning her head against his neck.
Black Dragon operated the helicopter and slowly descended, and Adam got in with Katie. Then, amidst the roar of the engine, they took off.
"That place has no reason to exist. Get rid of it."
"Got it."
Black Dragon pressed a button, and two incendiary bombs were ejected from the helicopter, landing inside the abandoned factory through the broken windows.
There was a loud explosion, and the abandoned building was gobbled up by the flames.
The helicopter sped into the distance as the factory burned, hurrying to the Hartleys' residence.
As they reached their destination, Adam jumped off the chopper with Katie in his arms, marching into the hall.
The security guards of the Hartleys made way, not daring to block him.
Entering the hall, Adam found a chair for Katie and sat beside her.
