Return Of The Prodigy -
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 95
The two men, one fat and one thin, retreated to the Hartleys' family villa, wearing a bitter expression and looking at Adam with complex eyes. Hartleys members were puzzled.
Didn't they run away? Why are they back again?
Daniel was even more perplexed.
Adam coldly said, "Confess honestly, or you'll face the consequences."
The fat man couldn't help but raise his head and asked, "Who are you? Do you know our boss?"
Just as they were about to drive away a moment ago, they received a call from their boss.
The boss ordered them to return immediately; otherwise, they wouldn't even know how they'd die.
The fat man was full of doubts; why return? But they had to listen to the boss, so they came back obediently.
Now he thought the only possibility was that the man in front of them knew their boss and was the kind of person their boss wouldn't dare to provoke!
Adam coldly scanned the two men.
To be honest, he didn't know who their boss was, but it didn't matter. The person in charge of Swindlers' Guild had arrived from the provincial capital. He didn't believe that these two guys wouldn't listen, so he wasn't afraid of them escaping. However, the two men must return in the same way they left!
"You talk too much." Adam snorted.
The fat man trembled all over. Wasn't it agreed that he was the son-in-law visiting their home? Why is he so fierce? Can't mess with him, can't mess with him.
So, the fat man sighed helplessly and explained, "Hello, everyone. I'm called Fatso, and he's my senior brother, Scrawny. We're both from Swindlers' Guild, specializing in setting traps to deceive people for money."
"We did approach Trey with a plan and arrangement. A week ago, our boss instructed us that someone was willing to pay us to set up a scam against Trey."
"So, we came to Lisle, deliberately getting close to Trey, luring him into the trap. To make Trey addicted to gambling, we deliberately lost nearly two hundred thousand in cash to him, wining and dining him, using every means to awaken his addiction."
"As you all know, in the final round, we won all his money, enticing him to borrow and bet. Initially, he was only willing to borrow a few thousand, but as the stakes doubled, he quickly sank into the quagmire. Pressured more and more, he had no way out and had to bet his house, borrowing over three hundred thousand from us."
The fat man quickly recounted the course of events.
A dead silence filled the Hartleys villa, and you could hear a pin drop.
Suddenly...
Gemma roared and rushed forward, "Damn it, I'll tear you apart! Do you have any conscience? How could you cheat my husband's money like this?"
"My husband is honest and hardworking. Are you still human? Do you know that your actions might force our whole family to death?"
"Give us back our money, give us back our house!"
Gemma cried, tearing at the fat man's clothes, desperately searching for bank cards.
"Give us back our money, give us back our house..."
The thin man sighed and took out bank cards and property deeds from his bag, returning them to Gemma.
At this moment, Trey, who had been lying on the ground, finally reacted and joined Gemma in assaulting the two men.
"I treated you both as friends, as brothers. Is this how you repay me?"
"Are you still human? Today, I'll beat you to death!"
The fat and thin men looked pitifully at Adam, pleading, "Big brother, we've explained everything. Please, can you stop them first?"
Adam coldly snorted, "You've violated Swindlers' Guild's rules yourselves. It's your own fault if you get beaten to death today."
Though he said so, Adam still stepped forward to hold back Gemma and Trey, saying, "Mom, Dad, today's matter isn't over. They're just tools; the real culprit is the mastermind behind the scenes." With these words, everyone instantly turned their heads to stare at Daniel.
At this point, it became clear that Trey was set up, and Daniel was the prime suspect.
Daniel's expression turned dark, his face as gloomy as the bottom of a pot.
He couldn't believe that the people from Swindlers' Guild would suddenly turn against him and reveal everything. His plan was originally successful, so how did it turn into this? It's all because of him!
Daniel glared at Adam with resentment, wishing to dismember this lunatic.
Isn't he supposed to be crazy?
He's just a useless person, the son-in-law of the Hartleys. How could he possibly know people from Swindlers' Guild? And such an important figure!
Damn it!
At this moment, Daniel finally understood why Peter lost so miserably.
Fortunately, the fat and thin men hadn't seen him, and they didn't know that he arranged everything. Even if the Hartleys suspected him, it would be in vain without evidence.
Feeling the gazes of the Hartleys, Matilda was the first to jump out and shout, "What are you all looking at my husband for?"
"Even if Trey was set up, what does it have to do with my husband?"
"Don't forget, my husband just returned from the provincial capital. He didn't even have time to arrange all this."
Trey also jumped out to support and said, "Yes, I believe Jun is innocent."
"Hehe!"
Adam sneered, his voice sharp, "What a word to believe! What a word innocent! If you had believed in my dad before, lent him over three hundred thousand, things wouldn't have turned out like this." "Now that you're unrepentant and trying to deny, well, let's continue watching."
Bang!
Suddenly, a loud explosion resounded. Dave raised his crutch, smashed it fiercely on the ground, and roared, "Have you had enough?"
"This is the Hartleys, and I'm not dead yet!"
