The next morning, Sophie woke up early and accompanied Xyla Quest to Quest Group.

Although she was said to be Xyla's bodyguard on paper, she was now known as Stanley Batton's younger sister. On top of that, she was wearing luxurious brands from head to toe. Her entire body was glowing.

She didn't seem like one of Xyla's subordinates at all.

They looked like equals when they stood next to each other.

Xyla started working as soon as she entered the office, while Sophie casually wandered around.

She said she wanted to get used to the environment, but in all honesty, she was bored.

As she walked past the pantry, Sophie saw a few women drinking coffee while talking about her.

"The girl our President brought with her is Stanley's younger sister. D*mn!"

"I honestly thought Mr. Batton was cheating. It turns out that wasn't the case."

"That girl is lucky to have been adopted by Stanley."

"One of my friends is Zack Cassidy's friend. Zack said that she was adopted because her parents passed away during an earthquake seven to eight years ago. It's quite pitiful." "Pitiful? Some people empathized with Sophie, while others were jealous of her.

However, Sophie didn't care.

She only cared about two people in this world; One was Xyla, and the other was her brother.

Quest Group was massive. By the time she had finished walking around, it was already noon.

She returned to Xyla's office to have lunch with her. Xyla then gave her the task of delivering a contract to a partnering company.

Xyla also requested a cup of coffee from across the building she was visiting.

Once Sophie completed her task, she went to the cafe across from the company.

Because it was a workday, there were few people inside.

Sophie bought the cup of coffee without any hiccups before walking out of the cafe with the coffee.

She was about to replace a corner

where nobody else was around before teleporting back to Xyla's office. A sapphire-blue sports car suddenly sped past her.

The road in front of Sophie was full of potholes. Puddles had formed because of the melted snow, so when the car sped past, dirty water splashed all over her, ruining her white outfit instantly.

Sophie felt annoyed.

She stopped walking and yelled in

the car's direction. "Aren't you

educated? You should slow n you drive past potholes!"

Right then, the sports car made an abrupt halt and stopped in a parking lot in front of her.

Shortly, a beautiful lady with curly hair stepped out from the driver's side.

She was wearing a pink velvet sweatshirt without any pants and a pair of pink velvet boots to complete her look.

With her chin slightly raised, she seemed somewhat arrogant.

Gary Lakes was resting with his eyes closed on the passenger seat.

He wore a white shirt and a pair of long, gray pants.

He had rolled his sleeves up to his

elbows, and the top threes of

his shirt were left open. His sexy collar bones were fully visible.
